Umat Islam kini kembali menjalankan ibadah puasa Ramadan. Bulan yang oleh Allah subhanahu wata'ala dihimpun di dalamnya rahmah (kasih sayang), maghfirah (ampunan), dan itqun minan naar (terselamatkan dari api neraka). Bulan Ramadan juga disebut dengan "shahrul Qur'an", bulan diturunkannya al-Qur'an yang merupakan lentera hidayah ketuhanan yang sangat dibutuhkan umat manusia dalam membedakan mana yang baik dan mana yang buruk serta mana jalan yang benar dan mana jalan yang sesat.

Marilah kita masuki bulan Ramadan ini dengan kesiapan diri yang prima, dengan perasaan yang tulus ikhlas untuk menjalankan ibadah-ibadah di bulan Ramadan. Marilah kita mantapkan hati dan jiwa kita dalam memperoleh kemuliaan puasa Ramadan, sehingga mengantarkan kita pada satu format kehidupan yang lebih baik. Bulan Ramadan kita jadikan momentum pembersihan diri dari dosa dan angkara murka dan penyadaran hati nurani kemanusiaan kita. Puasa jangan hanya kita laksanakan dengan menahan diri untuk tidak makan dan minum, namun yang paling substansial adalah menjadikannya upaya pengekangan diri dari segala bentuk hawa nafsu yang merugikan manusia dan kemanusiaan itu sendiri.
