Great book! This will really help enhance your leadership skills is used accurately. Ever situation is different, great leaders make adjustments.
I bought this book because I know a couple of "talkers", and I thought this might help them. As it turns out, I recognized a whole lot that I can apply myself. Nothing ground breaking or earth shattering here, but three powerful points - or habits - discussed and illustrated clearly and concisely, which is in the spirit of the book.
The three simple steps (habits) are 1. connect, 2. convey, 3. convince. The author explains what to do to come across in a world suffering from ADD. Each chapter starts with a list of statements you can apply yourself and then points you to the solution. For example "You tend to confuse people or make things sound more complicated than they really are" points to a chapter about information management, which helps you minimize "communiclutter".
The nice thing about the book is that all parts of communication are addressed, including visual (body language, facial expressions), paralingual (tone, inflection), energy, and content.
Short and sweet, well organized, so easy to return to when you need it.
This used book had bed bugs crawling out of the binding; caused terrible problems. What little content I read, full of platitudes, devoid of examples. Would not recommend.
This comment is about the CD version of the book. The voices the author makes are incredible distracting and annoying. It is like the voices one would make when one is reading a book to a child. In addition, she repeats herself way too much, which is also very distracting and annoying. Thus, if the book has some good points, they get buried under the "voices" and the repetition.
Habits are important to develop and lock into your routine. No one has time to listen to endless droning on and on. This is one of a few great communication books I used to further develop my written/oral skills. I had a recent role transition and my new manager received feedback from my old manager that I needed work on these skills. My new manager was quite puzzled because after reading these books, my skills had improved to match his!
As the title states, the book restates. It is written in a direct manner and gets to the point. A good read and good advice

It took me a little while to get into this book, I'll admit. I found this type of biker world different from anything I normally read, so maybe that was the hesitation to dive deep into this book at first. I had to adjust to the characters and the way they spoke to each other, but once I allowed myself to be submitted into their world, I thoroughly enjoyed the read. I flew through the last half of the book, loving the way Trig adored and loved "his woman". He wanted to protect her, love her, and be everything she needed. In the end, that's exactly what he was. I will definitely read the second book!

Running Wild was a great read that I enjoyed tremendously. Full of emotion. A heroine, Allie, who is sweet with a big heart but has a past that haunts her. The hero, Jace "Trigger" Warren, is completely alpha but knows Allie is off limits. The storyline flowed beautifully. Couldn't walk away from reading. Great chemistry between Allie and Trigger.
My first read by this author but won't be my last. Great job.
This wasn't a very suspenseful book...it was rather predictable from the beginning. They're wasn't enough action...way too much inner dialogue not enough actual communication between any of the characters. It doesn't feel like an MC book..... I don't want to give away spoilers so I'll just leave it alone... I already bought book two when I purchased book one so I'll give it a go...hopefully there is more substance to it.
Wherever you are reading this review, I posted this first on The Romance Reviews and this is the first 5 star rating I have given on this site; it is that freakin' good. I wish I could beg Ms. Sheppard to just concentrate on writing this series, because waiting for book 2 will be like having a tooth pulled with no Procaine. This book is not perfect, but it is addicting, so much so it killed to get in my car to come home from work, because that meant I had to stop reading. RUNNING WILD is the perfect balance for an MC romance series; not too rough, not soft either. It took awhile for the couple to get together, but I love that because I know Ms. Sheppard will give us something different with each book. With Jace and Allie, this was their way. I wish there was more information on the physical appearance of some of the characters, but even if you can not say what they look like, you feel them and that is more important sometimes. You can sense their personalities, their emotions. I am also hoping this will be a series that will keep us posted on past couples, because I fell in love with Jace and Allie and I want more of them! If you have read anything else by Ms. Sheppard, read this and you will know what I mean when I say, this is her series, this is the big one. She nailed it! All of J.L. Sheppard's books are good, but she was made to write this MC series. I do not give 5 stars very often, but RUNNING WILD deserved it. This is my first time, reading anything by this author. In which, I am glad I did! Trig(jace) was an Alpha badass! Well, I am glad becauSe I loved him! And then threres Allie! What can I say about Allie, brave, courageous, spitfire and kind hearted! Each of them didn't want to give into what they were feeling.. So they avoid one another. But in return it back fire, in which I glad it did.. Trig and Allie burn up the pages! They are not one of my favorite couples! But I can't wait to read the next story! I hope it's cuss and Tiffany! But wouldn't mind seeing Tyler or ripper story too!!
I've been disappointed by a lot of books that have come out lately, but I really enjoyed this one. I loved Jace and Ty. Cuss, too. They were perfect alpha men, although I thought Jace was a little too hard on himself. It took them a little too long to get together, though, almost halfway through and I would have liked to hear what their father had to say about things going on, he just became a non issue. Overall, a really good book with very likable secondary characters, ones where you look forward to reading their stories.
I took a chance on this book, and I am so glad I did. It was was wonderful so worth the read and I can't wait for the next one. If you love KA (Kristen Ashley)you will like this book, this author writes about the same type of deep love, you just sigh and wish you could read it all over again, but you want to savor the experience and hope the next book will be coming fast. The characters are in their mid to late 20, normally a risk factor for me since it can be hard to relate (KA's H and h are usually in their mid to late 30's). But this author wrote the characters with such depth and maturity, that you felt it deep in your heart so take a chance and read this book and enjoy.
This was the first book that i have read by this author. I have to say i thoroughly enjoyed it. Some of the other reviews about this book stated that it took to long to develop. Which is not the case, so don't let those reviews steer you away from reading this book. Allie and Trig have both been burned in the past and the way it was all laid out was perfect. Yes they avoided each other, yes it took awhile for for anything to happen between the two characters...But that's part of the suspense. When Allie and Trig did finally get together after that kiss, it was HOT and that's all i'm going to say. I do wish Allie had more of a backbone and was more outspoken but it didn't change my views on this book. I look forward to the rest of the series with Cuss, Army and Ripper!!!!

Received this book free for an honest review, that being said, this book was just as great as book 1. The characters are just so well developed and thought out. I read book 2 first thing this morning from start to finish, simply because it was just too good to stop. The excitement kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I'm still very worried about Dix getting his heart utterly broken by Kristof, but I am pulling for Kristof to have a change of heart and realize that he doesn't have to be a Lone wolf, that loving Dix is just right. My only complaint about the books is that I wish they were longer.
This middle book in the trilogy was characterized by the same steam and action-adventure of the first book. There was an extremely charged sex scene and a dangerous op to keep things racing along. I have to say though that it felt a lot like a bridge between the first and the next. While I really enjoyed the story, it was really short and, for the first time, I really felt like the whole group should have been one single longer work. I was lucky enough to get a deal for all three at once so I can't wait to find out how the direction hinted at the end of this book plays out in the third!
This installment was not quite as good as the first one, IMO. Though it’s now several months into the relationship between Dix and Kristof, it seemed to focus just as much on Dix’s case as it did on the relationship. There wasn’t enough focus on them as a couple. Don’t get me wrong, I thought the plot point of the extraction job did add to the story, but it shouldn’t have taken precedence over the main plot point of the dynamic between the MCs. And I was left with way too many unanswered questions. For instance, what was the purpose of the pups/nephews being inserted? There was no explanation as to why they were there, and they were only there for about 1 page. There was no interaction with their mom, Dix’s sister, and where did she come from if Dix had no pack? Was she a part of a pack somewhere though her brother was not? Or were her kids half human?

As for the job/mission, there were a few holes. For one, Skyler told Kristof that he always researches his client’s enemies, and seemed to know a lot about Dix and Kristof. How do you do research on a “top secret black ops-type” agency? You can’t just Google them. There was a hint that there was a mole in the Syndicate, so that negated the research part. And even if Skyler were able to find out about Dix via a mole, how would he know about Kristof being his mate, and know about Kristof’s background? There was no indication that Dix had told anyone that he even had a mate, and why would the Syndicate know about Kristof’s background when he still wouldn’t even share with Dix? When it came to the part about the drugging, I thought it was cool how the drugs were administered, but I got worried about Kristof because even the other shifter (the bodyguard) was growing concerned. But then the paramedic said that it was no big deal because he was a shifter. So, did the bodyguard not understand shifter nature as well as a human EMT?

As for the relationship, it still feels a little stiff and impersonal, with Kristof still trying just as hard to distance himself through most of the book. Why is Dix still being called by his last name? And there is still no clear explanation as to what exactly is entailed in imprinting and claiming, though it seems that with imprinting it just means sniffing your partner’s neck. I don’t like the frequent use of the word “mount”; I understand they’re shifters but I just picture dogs stuck together rather than 2 men making love. And why are the words “claim” and “mount” always capitalized? As for the taming part, Dix does nothing to tame Kristof. If anything, it’s the other way around, with Kristof making Dix more gaga over him than before with the sex. Kristof just decides to make things more permanent because he almost dies.
Disclosure I got a free copy of this book for writing a review of book 1 in the series and will get a free copy of book 3 in this series for this HONEST review (which is what the author wanted).
I preferred the first one in this series to this one -- I would have given it 2.5 stars if I could have. It was a very fast read for me -- about 45 minutes and so I think the cost of $2.99 is too high in that regard (I also skimmed the one fight scene, I admit). I would have definitely preferred less sex and more plot and more length in this one. I also would like more details on how one "claims" someone and what that actually means. The "pups" were too cute for me, but I liked the fact that there are some months between the first and second books in terms of building some type of relationship. I re-read the first book (also a very quick read) before I read this one just to remember who everyone was and found a few typos in the first one, but don't remember any in this volume. I do like the fact that there was a resolution to this story, rather than a cliffhanger. SPOILER AHEAD -- I wish the female villain would have been less helpless in the fight, and, frankly, that the longer length would have included a more gripping fight/drugging scene rather than going from overdose to "he'll be just fine with a B-12 shot and some sleep." Maybe the villains escaping with Kristof? Some type of medical emergency? See the aftercare/aftereffects of the whole episode? Maybe a discussion between the two leads of Kristof's involvement in this episode with no background -- and why was he even involved? Something. I did, however, find the way of absorbing the drugs quite unique.
I LOVED this book the action and how Dix and Two feathers work at their relationship. The book had me laughing and saying awww! Cant wait for the next book!!
I gave the book five stars because it well written and gives just enough suspense to want the next book. I like everything about the book my recommendation is for everyone to read it.
