During our 2-day trip to Baguio City, where we stayed at the Mines View Park Hotel, we did a lot of fun but useful activities there. One of the activities during our first day stay at Baguio is making the Bibingcrepe, a unique culinary dish that’s very exclusive to HalfMoon Café (formerly known as “Halfmoon Bibingcrepe“), located inside the Hotel’s vicinity.

According to Kiko Rustia, co-owner of HalfMoon Café, “A Bibingcrepe is actually a lot like the Indonesian martabak, except that it’s really suited for the Filipino taste. A martabak is a sweet, thick pancake topped with anything from cheese, chocolate, crushed peanuts, condensed milk, and sesame seeds and is a very popular snack in Indonesia. What we have here is a fusion of the martabak, bibingka, and crepe”.

Mines View Park Hotel’s president and Chef Dick Balajadia, together with Kiko, manages the Café. As of now, there are five variants of Bibingcrepe available at HalfMoom Café. These are the Cheese, Chocolate, Choco-Cheese, Corn-Cheese and Choco-Mallows. These crepes are served in Mini (P60-P65) and Regular (P95-P100), add P5 and you can have an ice cream whipped on top of the crepe!

Halfmoon also started to serve Bibingcrisp, a thin, wafer-like version of Bibingcrepe. The Cheese Bibingcrisp, the most popular variant, resembles a cheese quesadilla except for the fact that it’s crispy and slightly sweet. For an ultimate Halfmoon experience, Cheese Bibingcrisp must be paired with a tall glass of cold Green Mango with Basil Iced Tea. Aside from the Bibingcrepe and Bibingcrisp, HalfMoon Café, other menu on regular cafés is likewise served. You can try their Pork Siomai, Char Keuy Teow, Luscious Laksa and Cabbage Rolls at an affordable price but with taste that is beyond the cost.

Eating out in Tokyo is a unique experience. With around 180,000 eateries in the city travelers have a wealth of choice that caters for almost any budget.

But you don’t have to be in Tokyo, to experience Japanese Dining as Tokyo Tokyo offers you with METRO.

Metro is a new concept created for the developing market of Tokyo Tokyo. This market has evolved in terms of lifestyle and taste. The concept responds to the urbanity trend of the target market.

Metro is an all day-café and Izakaya, which makes Metro different with other Japanese restaurant. An Izakaya is a type of Japanese drinking establishment which also serves food to accompany the drinks. Izayaka is like a bar where you can hang out after work. Alcoholic beverages and Yakitori are the product lines to highlight. Also, Metro’s ambience lends itself to be a relaxing place to hang out.

On the other hand, Metro is also like an all day-café where you can have your meal anytime of the day. Metro offers sumptuous yet inexpensive Japanese food.

To name a few of Metro’s Headliners or singature dishes:

Metro Meltique Steak P450
Juicy Meltique Beef Steak grilled with light herb seasoning

This is one of my favorite. Meltique beef was tender and moist which I think made it more flavorful.

Melt-in-your-mouth Braised Pork P195
Slices of pork braised to tenderness and flavour

This is not your ordinary braised pork as it has that melt-in-your-mouth texture and taste that simply fills your mouth.

The Colossal Metro Burger P375
Satisfy your big craving! The Metro Burger piled with all the add-ons they offer

It is really colossal! This 200g, almost a half pound, burger patty was amazing – coupled with the meat sauce, mushroom bits, slice of cheese, a fried egg, and assorted vegetables with potato wedges on the side. This burger is for those who have big appetite.

These are just some delicious dishes of the new Metro by Tokyo Tokyo offers. I’ll definitely come back for more. There’s still a lot I haven’t tried on the menu.

Bottom line is Metro Tokyo Tokyo is different with Tokyo Tokyo but it will be known for it’s new and exciting culinary discoveries that will create talking points to target market (whether you want a all day-café and Izakaya type concept).

Metro is located at the pulse areas of urbanity: Glorietta 5, Valero st., SM North Edsa Annex, SM Fairview Annex, and DAO1 (salcedo st).

Unique culinary discoveries from Metro; you’ll never stop talking about!

Vega Atienza, Shop Operations Manager of Häagen-Dazs, says, “The Eat-All-You-Can Ice Cream Buffet is the ultimate opportunity for indulgence. True Häagen-Dazs lovers should not let this chance pass them by.”

In an effort to make Häagen-Dazs more accessible to customers during the rush of the Christmas season, a satellite branch will be opened in SM Megamall. Dubbed as “Häagen-Dazs Express,” it is located at the Ground floor of Building A, in front of Toy Kingdom. This gives an opportunity for customers in SM Megamall to indulge on Häagen-Dazs wherever they may be, especially if they are in a rush.

“Want your Häagen-Dazs right here, right now? This makes Häagen-Dazs readily accessible for people coming from the Building A parking lot, or the ADB,” says Cathy Sanchez, Brand Manager of Häagen-Dazs.

The Eat-All-You-Can Ice Cream Buffet is an ice cream connoisseur’s dream come true, while Häagen-Dazs Express allows people to enjoy and indulge in the best ice cream in the world while strolling around the mall. These make SM Megamall the destination of choice for people who are looking for a unique dessert experience.

The Häagen-Dazs shop is located in the 2nd floor of the SM Megamall Atrium, making it very accessible as it is located in the center of the Ortigas Business District as well as a lot of nearby villages.

Are you a cowboy fan? If you are, then I’m sure you’ll love the experience of dining the cowboy way, right? But I know you also want the taste to be authentic, or else the cowboy spirit in you will fade away.

If this is your dilemma, then worry no more. Yes, you don’t need to worry about dining the cowboy way with an authentic taste of the real wild wild west anymore as TEXAS ROADHOUSE GRILL is here to indulge your cravings for grilled dishes. It’s hard to describe how delectable their foods are without trying them, so we grabbed the chance while we can.

You know, I’m not the type of person who eats medium rare steak, I mean…why eat foods with “blood” on it when I can order for a well done one; but hey! It’s not that bad after all. After trying it with this one-of-a-kind saloon, I’ve decided that medium rare rib eye steak should be considered one of my favorites. But what really makes this rib eye stand out? It is served juicy with vegetable seasoned over it.

"The Great Ribeye"

I also tried their corn soup, which is supposed to be an appetizer, but then again, I was amazed of how it turned to be heavy in the stomach. I suggest that you really try this soup. After talking about the appetizer, I can’t wait to tell something about the dessert. So pardon me if I’ll jump my story from appetizer to dessert, ok?

Now, here we go…. the dessert part of the dining. It’s called Mighty Oreo Mud Pie, well, what really makes me drool about this aside from its name- which sounds really mouth-watering – is that, it has snickers in it, my favorite! Indulge me , please… mmmm

"Mighty Oreo Mud Pie"

Anyway, to make your stomach stop from rumbling because of these best-tasting story of mine, I have to end it now. But, I must tell you, the total experience with Texas Roadhouse Grill is something that tells me “I know you’ll come back, I’m sure”, and it’s really true…

So, next time, I also would like to try their ocean-fresh seafood, their chicken dishes, the Ol Texas Burger and Cheesesteak Sandwich, their pasta foods like the Geronimo’s Seafood Marinara and Billy the Kid’s Shrimp Pasta, and then there’s the Parmesan Crusted Fish Fillet and the Loaded Meatloaf…aaaahhhh…the choices are endless…I really can’t wait until my next dine at Texas Roadhouse Grill, which is, by the way, located at Bonifacio High Street and El Pueblo Real de Manila, Ortigas Center.

So, the search for the ultimate grilled dishes stops here. I guess I have to say, “See you there”!
