Final Four – March Madness Ends Tonight in Atlanta

Michigan or Louisville? Got a favorite? No matter how bad your bracket looks, tonight is the night where one college basketball team will reign supreme. The Final Four has been an exciting one, and no doubt the injury of Kevin Ware will be one of the most remembered events of this tournament. His determination to make the trip to Atlanta has been nothing short of a miracle. He has received roaring cheers when he enters the dome and even got a chance to give his Top 10 on The David Letterman Show! However, when it came to the last minute of Saturday’s game, Ware could not bare to watch the final seconds. Read more about him and his journey at "the USAToday website":http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2013/04/07/emotional-kevin-ware-couldnt-watch-the-end-of-louisvilles-win/2059897/
There is not doubt that tonight’s game will be a fight to the end by both teams. Fontis Water salutes both of these outstanding college basketball teams and can’t wait to see what happens tonight! Enjoy the game!<div class="feedflare">

Easter Weekend Activities

Happy Easter to all! It’s hard to believe but Easter is here. As you plan your weekend activities you might want to consider checking out one of these two great events. Fontis Water will be there, and we’d love to see you.

If you have little ones, make sure you look into attending the North East Cobb Community Egg Drop. Similar to a typical Easter Egg Hunt, these eggs will be dropped from a helicopter! This year’s hunt will take place at Sprayberry High School and will begin at 10 AM. While waiting for the hunt, kids can enjoy numerous activities including face painting, rides and food! Cobb EMC will be sponsoring a Kid Zone and for only $5 children can enjoy unlimited rides. The Sprayberry Football Booster Club will provide the food.

Times for the event include staging for the hunt at 12:30, eggs will be dropped at 1, and hunts will begin at 1:20. 3rd through 5th grade will hunt at 1:20, K-2nd will hunt at 1:30. Preschool will hunt at 1:40, and there will be a separate area for toddlers to egg hunt. This fun and festive day will end at 3 PM.

Also happening this weekend is the Taste of Forsyth. The event is sponsored by the City of Cumming and Superior Plumbing and will take place March 30 at the Cumming Fairgrounds. The annual event will also include an Easter Egg Hunt this year. Those attending this event will be able to sample all local Cumming restaurants have to offer from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM on the beautiful fairgrounds.

Admission is FREE and samples may be purchased from $1 up to 4. More than 25 restaurants including Castleberry Ale House, Mia Italiano Ristorante, The Melting Pot, Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, Foster House, Rio Balsas and more will be on site to tempt your taste buds and fill your senses.

The Egg Hunt is for children ages 10 and under, and the hunt will be separated into age specific hunts. The hunts are as follows: 11:30 a.m., (ages three and under) 12:30 p.m., (ages four to seven) and at 1:30 p.m., (ages eight to 10). More than 25,000 eggs will be spread across the lawn for children to hurry and gather as many as they can. Make sure to get there early, as the eggs don’t last long!
Also for the kids there will be a Touch-A-Truck featuring exciting vehicles and equipment from police, National Guard, SWAT. Kids will also enjoy checking out a crane, dump truck, fire trucks and a monster truck! And as if that was not enough, there will also be an enormous Kids Zone with interactive inflatables, climbing rock wall, inflatable slides and a track less train!<div class="feedflare">

March Madness is Here!

March Madness is here and as usual it’s taking over television sets across America. Walk in any sports bar, restaurant or home den, and chances are college basketball will be the featured program! Statistics even show that during March Madness, offices across the US are at their lowest in productivity due to the streaming of and listening to games played during office hours.
Along with the games, comes the fun of the office bracket pools. Will the number one seeds stay on top or will a Cinderella story emerge to blow everyone’s bracket to shreds? It’s several weeks of all out nail biting and cheering for your favorite team, and screaming at the team you love to hate! Was your bracket destroyed when Gonzaga lost? Are you counting on KU to make it to the Final Four? No matter your favorite, we hope you are enjoying this year’s games. To keep up on the latest scores, you might want to check out "this website":http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/tournament/bracket. It is filled with up to the minute scores and final results. And when all is said and done, let’s come back here and see how we all fared! Enjoy your March Madness and enjoy your Fontis Water!<div class="feedflare">

Where do you think the new Falcons' Stadium should be built?

For weeks the rumors have been flying as to where the new stadium should be built for our Atlanta Falcons. The rumors were laid to rest a few days ago when Atlanta’s Mayor Kasim Reed and Falcons’ owner, Arthur Blank, announced their intentions for the new location. Their statement to the community has drawn praise, criticism and now it appears it might draw the call for a public referendum.

According to FOX5 Atlanta, the government watchdog group, Common Cause Georgia (CCG), believes that city leaders should let the voters decide if $200 million in hotel/motel tax funds should be spent on the proposed stadium. The law does not require a public referendum, but the executive director of CCG, William Perry, wants the citizens of Atlanta to be able to make the final decision.

Fontis wants to know what you think? Take a minute to view the story at "the FOX5 website":http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/story/21576745/group-calls-for-public-referendum-on-new-falcons-stadium<div class="feedflare">

What Motivates You?

Are you motivated? Is there something out there calling your name? Perhaps you want to pursue a new job, start a fitness program or simply be a better person. All of these are great goals to set, but do you know what motivates you to achieve them?

While really considering what motivates me, I did some research and found some interesting information. First of all, what is motivation? There are many definitions of motivation, but the one I particularly liked was that “motivation is that driving force which allows you to achieve your goals and go after what you want in life.” Yes, that is motivation!

However, not everyone is wired to be a self-motivator. You may be that person who knows what they want, but is easily distracted by other life events therefore never reaching an established goal. As simple as it may sound, the way to beat this problem would then be to remove all of the distractions that lead to your failure. Remove them and then refocus.

Also don’t let people tell you YOU CAN’T! Your goals are just that… YOURS and no one knows what you might truly be capable of achieving. It is also important to motivate yourself each and every day. Remind yourself of what it is you want, and what it will take to get there. These are proven steps that just might make a difference in your life.

Tips for Eating on the Road

Do you like to travel? And if so, do you love to try new and exciting foods while on the road? Like many, the answer is probably YES! However, after reading a recent travel blog on the Huffington Post website, you might think twice before ordering that glass of tap water when traveling out of the country … too bad they don’t sell Fontis Water overseas!

According to the article which can be found at "the Huffington Post website":http://www.huffingtonpost.com/smartertravel/7-foods-to-avoid_b_2482111.html?utm_hp_ref=travel drinking contaminated water is one of the world’s leading causes of illness. It can cause some truly disgusting diseases and is often found in areas that do not have adequate water sanitation. As the article suggests, take some time to research other water options before you travel. Who knows, you might want to ship a case of Fontis Water before you arrive!

Another risk can come in the form of ice. Yes, ice in the contaminated water areas can carry the same risks. Knowing this fact just might have you drinking that Coke at room temperature on your next island adventure.

Ever had a meal where a fly landed on your food? Yes, again … disgusting, but it does happen. When a fly lands on your food, they leave behind a bit of anything else they have landed on; what that might be, we’d rather not think about! So before you eat that pretzel off the street, check the area first and make sure there are no flies adding any special ingredients to your snack!

Other important tips to avoid becoming ill on that dream vacation, include hand washing; not only by you but the servers as well. It may be hard to know if a server is washing his or her hands, but watch to make sure they don’t cough in their hand or perhaps even wipe their nose with their hand! Make sure your food is also completely cooked. When traveling, the article suggests that you eat at establishments that make food to order. If the meal should be hot, make sure it’s hot before eating!

These are great tips for those traveling out of the country on spring break. And … for those staying home with us, we hope you will enjoy Fontis with all of your meals!<div class="feedflare">

Inman Park Festival Set for April

Sure it may just be March 1, but all of us at Fontis Water can not wait to be a part of the 2013 Inman Park Festival. This year's festival will take place April 26-28, 2013.

The festival, which is held the last weekend of every April, is free, except for the Tour of Homes. The Inman Park Spring Festival takes place in one of Atlanta’s oldest and most scenic neighborhoods. First developed in the late 1800s, Inman Park is home to many historic homes and parks. The Festival began in the early 1970s as a means to attract attention to gentrification efforts that sought to revitalize the community.

Now celebrating its 42nd anniversary, the festival offers something for everybody. There will be live music, kids activities, a Tour of Homes, a marvelous street parade, an artists’ market, and some of the city’s best people-watching. Why not come early, stay late, and see why this festival is often called one of Atlanta’s best street festivals!

On Friday, the Tour of Homes will run from Noon until
4:00 PM (there are no other Festival events on Friday.) On Saturday and Sunday the Tour of Homes will run from Noon until 6:00 PM. On Saturday, the Festival (excluding the Tour of Homes) will begin at 11:00 AM and end at 8:30 PM. On Sunday, the festival times are 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM. The Tour of Homes cost $20.

The festival will of course include great park food, including pizza, barbecue, gyros, sandwiches and yes ... funnel cakes! Local restaurants will also be open for business.
