A Family Tradition

Fontis Water carries on a decades old tradition of delivering pure mountain spring water to customers throughout northern Georgia. Fontis Water was founded by the same family that founded Georgia Mountain Water.

Georgia Mountain Water had humble origins in 1981, when the Carroll's started pumping water from a spring on their property in the North Georgia Mountains.

The venture grew throughout the 1990's which led to new branches, including Cohutta Water, that took root in new cities around Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.

Today some of those companies no longer exist, but one thing is for sure, the Carroll's started a Family Tradition within the bottled water industry that carries on today with Fontis Water.

While some larger water companies may be disconnected from the needs of their customers, we CLEARLY value each and every one of ours. We guarantee we'll go the extra mile to make sure you're satisfied with our products and services.

Let us prove to you that customer service isn't just a thing of the past.<div class="feedflare">

Are You Drinking From The Garden Hose??

The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer. All of those outdoor Spring activities can really work up a thirst!

When you go to grab a cold glass of water, where is it from? Is it your tap water that flows through contaminated public water lines? The very same water that sprays from your garden hose, or is it pure mountain spring water?

Fontis Mountain Spring Water is bottled from a secluded natural spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is not filtered from a tap like most bottled water.

Fontis Water makes bottled water simple and affordable. The cool refreshing water is delivered right to your door for home delivery.

Now doesn't that sound a lot better than drinking from the garden hose??<div class="feedflare">

Every year the city of Kennesaw, Georgia, hosts the Big Shanty Festival. This will be the 33rd year and the festival will be held in downtown Kennesaw on April 18th & 19th. Like most outdoor festivals this one is sure to please with a host of arts & crafts, delicious food and plenty of entertainment.

The Thursday before the Big Shanty Festival is the Kennesaw Business Association’s Alive after Five Big Shanty Kick off Party; whew that was a bunch of words! So needless to say Fontis Water will be out in full force, supplying water for the big party! This is always a great Alive after Five, held at the Trackside Grille in Downtown Kennesaw. There will be live music; good food and plenty of ice cold Fontis Water. See you there!<div class="feedflare">

Water Worries

Unless you have been hiding out in a cave, you can’t help but notice the abundance of news about drinking water. It seems that most news we hear, at least in recent times, is some sort of attack on bottled water. There are more and more advocates of tap water every day, telling people not to drink bottled water or that bottled water is bad for a whole host of reasons. I’m not sure why these people are so against bottled water in the first place but there are some very important details they aren’t telling you about the water that comes straight from your tap.

First of all, unlike bottled waters such as Fontis Water, tap water is not regulated like a food product by the FDA. No, tap water is regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency, the same people who watch over things like oil and chemical spills in our oceans , rivers and lakes, but rightfully so, after all these are the places that tap water comes from and take a look at some of the contaminates found in most tap water:

According to the Natural Resources Defense Council the following contaminates are found not only in Atlanta tap water but in tap water from municipalities all over the state of Georgia and states all over the country…

*LEAD*, which enters drinking water supplies from the corrosion of pipes or faucets and can cause permanent brain damage and decreased intelligence in infants and children.

*PATHOGENS* (germs) such as *COLIFORM BACTERIA* or *CRYPTOSPORIDIUM*, a microscopic disease-carrying protozoan that presents health concerns, especially to individuals with weakened immune systems including HIV/AIDS patients, the elderly, children, and people who have undergone organ transplants or cancer chemotherapy or who have certain chronic diseases.

*TRIHALOMETHANES* and *HALOACETIC ACIDS*, by-products of the chlorination process, which may cause cancer and, potentially, reproductive problems and miscarriage.

*CARCINOGENS* and other toxic chemicals, including *ARSENIC* (which is naturally occurring or derives from mining and industrial processes), radioactive radon, the pesticide atrazine (affecting the water of more than 1 million Americans)

And the latest; *ROCKET FUEL* or *PERCHLORATE* from rocket fuel (present in the water supplies of more than 20 million Americans)

Read the most recent news article on the Fontis Water web site about tap water and Perchlorate "here":http://www.fontiswater.com/news-releases/21/Confronting-the-toxins-inside.

Yes, these are the details that the tap water advocates are leaving out of their stories. But there is hope! Reputable bottled water companies like Fontis Water work with federal, state and local agencies to ensure that the water you put into your body is pure and free of harmful contaminates; sure tap water may cost less than Fontis Water, that’s why I’m fine with letting it run down my shower drain.<div class="feedflare">
