One of the best marketers online is Jack Humphrey. He’s been successful at internet marketing for years and is heavily into blogging and showing others how to blog successfully. You may have heard about his hot products in the past such as last years Athority Black Book.

Well, Jack has a new program now where he shows you how to make more money by blogging. This can definately help you with flipping blogs. Remember also, you can always decide to keep a blog if it is something you are interested in and it is making money.

As you can see, the blog has a bid now of $20.

Here’s why I think this is a good example of a startup blog flip and why it would be a good model to follow:

1. The niche is a good niche: banking. There’s a lot of interest in banking now days and I would imagine the keywords can make for some good adsense revenue.

2. The blog is attractive and well put together. The theme used is the popular Church Theme and of course the site uses wordpress.

3. There are 5 original articles and 35 promised plr articles related to the niche. Besides that the seller says he will translate the articles into three additional languages. I’m not sure if this is done with a plugin or a separate software, but that does add percieved value.

* One question I may want to ask as a potential buyer is “Are the 5 articles on the site now PLR or original?” Because that is unclear to me. If they are original, then yes the $8 each that the seller mentions would be a bragain. However, you don’t pay $8 each for PLR articles. That’s a little deceptive IMO but it’s up to the buyer to ask the questions.

Still, it’s a strong way for the seller to add value to the blog.

4. The desciption is excellent. Just about questions, except for the PLR issue, are covered and clear to the viewer. It also is writen in a compelling manner. Not too hypish and spaced out to make the viewer read each point one at a time. Overall, the description gives the impression that the seller put a lot of time and thought into the site and will help the buyer after purchase.

5. Extras such as “tactical” marketing plan and support.

6. Free hosting for 1 month and “only” $4.95 a month afterwards. Obviously the seller has a reseller plan with a company, so this is a way to continue to earn residual income.

7. Low $1 starting bid, but with a reserve. I also like the fact that there isn’t a BIN to start with. That’s how I usually like to do my auctions also.

So, those are main reasons I like this blog and should give you yet another model to follow.

See, you don’t really need to purchase ebooks on flipping blogs or websites, just watch what others do. And, oh yeh, subscribe to my blog and I’ll keep pointing out the good and bad ways to flip blogs and websites.

There’s many ways to flip blogs. Using the resell rights for this video series can be one. Just make a simple blog about blogging and then sell this package for say $17. Then after getting some sales sell the blog for a years worth of sales. Then you can repeat the process. Simple and effective blog flipping and I see it done fairly often.

bla.st, the free advertising network & Web Directory

I like the domain name. I also like the design of the site and the business card type ads for each website in the directory. JP describes the directory as the first image based directory online. It’s a good idea I think and is similar to something I had in mind for a directory. It only takes a few minutes to make a card and submit it to the directory.

There’s also a widget you can put on your blog. I have an example at the bottom of this post. Why post a widget on your site? Because the widget can also bring you traffic. There’s a widget directory also and a bla.st user can go to your site and pick to advertise on your site. This brings traffic and also potential income because although it’s free to use Bla.st, there are listing upgrades that can bring extra traffic.

For blog flippers this can be an excellent way to get some extra traffic without having to spend a lot of money or doing a lot of work. Try it and see how it works for you.

Here’s what the widget looks like. I have a large one, a smaller one and then I have a two column small one. BTW, you can control what types of “cards” show up in the widget.

This one should give you flippers some ideas on what you can do. The seller has made an fairly simple blog about a woman’s weight loss program. It shows before and after photos, has a personal story and is pretty convincing. The site uses a cpa affiliate product that pays $60 for each time a person gets a “free” products. The shipping and handling is about $10.

Anyways, the seller says they bought the site a couple months ago. So I did a google search and found the sale here:

So the guy bought it for $2000. At the time it was making around $400 a month. Now it’s making $1000 and he’s selling it for $4950.

What he/she is doing now is using ppc ads to drive traffic to the site. They spent about $120 in February to get the traffic and make the $1000.

So, here’s an example of PPC blog flipping. Good formula, although I do wonder why they would sell at this point. They say they just want to go on to the next project. Perhaps they saw the site peak and know it can’t make much more??

Anyways, I hope the site and the auction give you some ideas.

As I write this there is a $125 bid. The site’s income is stated at $1, but what makes the blog attractive are a few things:

1. The niche. Green environmental websites/blogs are pretty hot now.
2. The wordpress theme is a good looking premium theme. ( BTW: As a buyer I would ask if I get a license for the theme if I buy the blog. )
3. Shows traffic stats.
4. Well written sales description of the blog.
5. Auto updating with both video and articles.
6. Decent domain name.

I would think this blog will sell for more than the current bid. We’ll see.
