Customer Review: Although I really loved this book, truth be told, the storyline is not that great. There is a vampire ballet in town and Jean Claude had invited several master vampires to attend. Anita has a lot to deal with in this book. Trouble starts when the vampires from the ballet start to influence the viewers. This starts a chain reaction, where Anita gets severely hurt and to heal herself, she has to have sex. The sex part returns very often in this book. She has to feed the ardeur, find an extra Pomme de Sang and gets intimate with the master vampire Auggie. In spite of all the sex, I do think this book was fun to read and I do recommend it to Anita Blake fans..

This is my personal best in the Grant County series but I prefer the characters and story style in the Will Trent series more. Karin Slaughter fans won't be disappointed.

Customer Review: Book 3 of the Casa Dracula series does not disappoint. The novel is smart, funny, touching and surprising!! Milagro De los Santos is planning her wedding to Oswald, which is just three months away, on top of that she has to seek the recognition of the vampire council. With a series of unfortunate events and her ex lover Ian popping up whenever she is away from Oswald. Milagro has more to worry than her wedding day. I loved the twists and turns of this novel. Milagro's character is growing up and I can't wait to read what's next from Marta Acosta

Customer Review: The continuation of Jaz and Vayl's adventure (and Cassandra, Cole and Bergman since the crew keeps expanding) did not impress me nearly as much as the first book. They are still trying to catch Samos but in this story, a Chinese villain named Chien Lung and his sidekick Pengfei Yan and a reaver named Yale are the primary focus. Chien Lung stole a weapon created by Bergman. So it's a combination of let's retrieve this prototype and take out some bad guys while we're at it. I had trouble getting into and staying with this story. The tension is building between Jaz and Vale but so slowly. Another thing that bothered me is the broken English Rardin had peripheral characters spouting. (ESL teachers who read fluff in their spare time {ahem} will be rolling their eyes a lot. Seriously.) The reader is also subjected to weird flashbacks and memories projected into the middle of scenes. That mimics real life; people do zone out anywhere and everywhere but it's really distracting in a book. Another thing that has had me puzzled throughout Book 1 and now Book 2: Rardin has described Vayl's eyes as several different colors! Sometimes they are "icy" blue; sometimes they are "molten" green or a "warm" brown. I mean, what?! I hope there's an explanation for that somewhere because I'm tempted to go back and count the color changes... Regardless of the few flaws, I intend to buy the next book. I do recommend this series so far.

Customer Review: The author has quite a bit of talent. The story line is fresh and her writing is tight but then she lessens the impact by naming the female lead (a tough as nails with father abandonment issues FBI agent tracking a serial killer) Heather, and I just can't get past this name because of the movie "Heathers". Our lead male is a vampire/angel hybrid named "Dante" (requisite club with Inferno references). Oh, and he's Cajun which could be sexy but is kind of annoying linguistically, mon ami. Absolutely no cliches or coincidences in this book, especially with the mad scientist, top secret experiments, and repressed memories going on. And then, I spent time Googling special words because I'm a heathen and not familiar with Hebrew biblical references. See: Gehenna. It didn't have a cliff-hanger ending, just enough unresolved questions that a sequel is possible. Wow. I can't believe I gave it 3 stars. This book must have been worse than I thought. You should read it but only for the homoeroticism, hints of bds&m and the level of angst.
