This recap has spoilers, you are warned!

Over the weekend I saw the new vampire thriller Daybreakers with Ethan Hawke. A decade or so in the future, a plague has transformed much of the world’s population into vampires. Humans, if spotted, are rounded up and farmed for blood. The world though is experiencing a blood shortage as the farmed humans do not live long after being captured and there aren’t many left. Feeding on vampire blood causes bizarre mutations that cause you to lose all rational thought and the body itself mutates into something resembling a huge white bat. The sewers are overrun with these creatures and home invasions are becoming commonplace. When all the blood runs out everyone will share that horrible fate.

Hawke plays Edward Dalton a vampire hematologist that is trying to come up with a blood substitute to save the species. He also naively hopes that humans would be permitted to repopulate and join society again but the corporation he works for intends for them to become a rare delicacy for the rich instead. In a twist of fate he gets in a car accident one night and the passengers of the other vehicle (which is totaled) turn out to be human. As the police approach Edward allows them to get in his car and hide while he indicates to the police that they got out and ran.

Later on they find them in his home, believing that they can trust him. They give him instructions for a meet the next day but he doesn’t realize that his brother, who is a military man charged with hunting humans, overheard the exchange. The next day Edward meets Elvis (William Dafoe) who was a vampire for years before an accident unexpectedly cured him and turned him back into a human. Elvis was exposed to sunlight for a very short time before falling into a river that put out the fire. When he emerged from the water he was human.

Edward goes on the run with Elvis and Audrey ( the lady from the car accident) as his brother shows up with the army. They escape and Edward decides to see if he can re-create the “cure”, using sunlight and a pressurized wine tank to extinguish the resulting flames. It works and Edward once again become human.

In a clever twist Edward finds it will be easier than originally thought to spread his “cure” even if the vampires don’t want to give up immortality. This revelation will ensure that humans will once again get to repopulate on earth.

I thought this movie was excellent albeit very bloody. The story was clever and something I have never seen before and since I am a big vampire genre fan that is no easy feat. I would recommend this to paranormal/scifi fans and vampire fans alike.

OLDIES AND UNHUMAN - Purely deadly

In the old days, in Dracula and Dracula’s Daughter, vampires were sensuous and deadly predators. They were not three-dimensional personalities with emotions or a conscience. Bela Lugosi’s Dracula was suave, gentlemanly, sophisticated. Part of that sophistication was his inscrutability. He did not reflect upon the suffering he was creating and we knew nothing of his thoughts except for their cunning manipulations.

Not human

The amazingly chic Dracula’s Daughter also showed us no human qualities. She was a faultlessly dressed and coifed predatoress with no qualms about her mode of existence. The last thing she would do is spill her guts to a shrink about how difficult it is to be a vampire.

Not warm and fuzzy

When Dracula spoke about children, he was referring to wolves and their howls. “Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make.” He is not a warm and cuddly vampire with paternal instincts. He is syrupy in his charm and poise, knowing the destruction that lies ahead.

Vampires with feelings

We now have new vampires. Ones with feelings. Of course there’s the hero, Edward Cullen in Twilight. He’s moody and darkly brooding but he lives a respectable life with his vampire family. He feels bad about sucking the life out of humans, so he channels his vampirism to animal flesh. He even jokes, “We think of ourselves as vegetarians.”

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is a stylish soap opera about teenage and young adult angst. The vampires of Anne Rice are aristocratic in their extreme sensibilities and sensitivity.

Outcasts integrated

The vampires in True Blood, thanks to a Japanese scientist’s invention of synthetic blood, have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. Humans are no longer on the menu. The waitress Sookie Stackhouse is open-minded about the integration of vampires into human society instead of being the outcasts they are today.

Seeking to be understood

This kindly view of vampires fits in nicely with my own experience. I want the reader to understand that all the atrocities I committed were performed under compulsions that were stronger than my merely human conscience. Prior to watching the hit HBO show “True Blood” I had no knowledge of the name Alan Ball. Obviously I was oblivious to any of his work. That is what I believed until I researched Mr. Ball and learned that we have a long history together via his writing, directing and my viewing of his various works. Ball wrote “American Beauty” which is an Oscar winning film and he was one of minds behind another hit HBO show, “Six Feet Under.” My addiction to “True Blood” happened fast and was almost instantaneous. I was one of those people that had totally ignored the show the first season and just happened to catch a marathon and as they say “the rest is history.” Months before I saw the show my cousin mentioned it to me and explained the storyline; she then raved about the show. My immediate thought was “I am not jumping on this whole vampire craze going on now.” I listened but thought “this all sounds so ludicrous and ridiculous no way will I be interested in this show.” “Synthetic blood” come on, really?

It’s months later, I’m home ill, I have watched the four seasons of “House” that I own more times than I care to admit. It was to the point where I was quoting House’s acerbic comments in my sleep. I decided it was time to tune into something else so I gave “True Blood” a try. From the moment, the couple come speeding down the road engaging in some pretty risque behavior stopping abruptly to go inside of a convenience store advertising that they sell True Blood, you are hooked. You have no choice but to keep voyeuristically following the young couple. The two obnoxiously go inside and converse with the clerk about True Blood and vampires in New Orleans. The clerk deceives the pair into thinking that he is a vampire which isn’t hard to do from the way he’s dressed and his demeanor. Come on, the first time any of us saw it, the clerk had us going. He is so strange – yet fascinating; you almost totally ignore the other guy in the store. Why would anyone pay him any attention? This show is about vampires and we want to see vampires. The other guy in the store is dressed in some kind of army fatigue looking lost and a little too intrigued with the conversation being had by the couple and the clerk.

Let me not forgot to point out that there is a confederate emblem which adorns the observer’s hat. We sized this guy up the minute the camera flashed him. Anyway back to the action; the couple then starts to inquire about “V-juice” vampires blood which is apparently the new meth. By this time, the hick has made his way up to the counter behind the couple. He appears completely disgusted by the couple’s fascination with vampires. Things appear to get intense between the couple and the clerk and right at the climax – the clerk laughs uncontrollably. He really had them going,;he isn’t a vampire at all. Just around the time your heart reverts back to a normal rhythm the hick starts in on the couple about leaving all things vampire alone. This unsolicited advice royally pisses off the boyfriend who threatens to do bodily harm to the hick. Still at the same cadence as before, the hick warns the boyfriend 1) to leave the V-blood alone and 2) that he will return any acts of violence.

You can tell by this point the boyfriend is a real prick and continues to make threats of an a** kicking nature. Here’s where the fangs come out, literally. The hicks says to the couple, “I’ll f**k you” and then wait for it, he says to everyone’s (the couple, the clerk and those of us at home) horror “and then I’ll eat you!” Good gracious no lie, his fangs appear. The couple runs out in terror now heeding the warning of the vamp. The vampire then turns to the clerk, the clerk is terrified, and tells him that if he ever pretends to be a vampire again he will be killed. The vampire then puts down a four pack of True Blood which earlier we all assumed was beer, I know I’m not the only one who thought that, along with some money. He then picks up the True Blood and heads for the door after he sweetly says, “have a nice day”…What? What was that we all learned in grade school something about a book and its cover? Did I mention this all happens before the theme song and credits roll? The scene ends with the hick/vampire exiting the store and suddenly the creepiest, most intoxicating song starts playing, “Bad Things” by Jace Everett and without any warning whatsoever you’re a true blood addict.

The opening credits video footage is this weird blend of evil, splashes of religion, kids in klan regalia, church folk getting the holy ghost, bar fights, exorcisms, sex and baptism. Already without being introduced to any main characters you’re invested. When the show officially begins it’s revealed that the blonde waitress can hear people’s thoughts. Soon after this revelation we learn the blonde waitress’ name is Sookie Stackhouse and she works at a bar/restaurant, Merlotte’s. Shortly thereafter learning her name, the viewer discovers Sookie’s gift is a little more foe than friend. The thoughts we hear through Sookie of the customers in the bar are atrocious and in most instances too much information. We also learn pretty early on this isn’t a show for kids or the faint of heart. Now for those of us not offended or intimidated by profanity, nudity, sex and gratuitous violence, we press on anxiously waiting for this drama to unfold.

As if it were possible to become anymore intrigued, in walks a dream in the form of Bill Compton, right into Merlotte’s. He stares at Sookie as if he can see inside her soul and she gazes, as do the rest of us, longingly at him. There is something about Bill that we see Sookie cannot resist and we do not blame her one bit. Then Bill speaks, in this old fashioned southern gentleman way, and “then the spell is cast.” It is as if both Bill and Sookie notice immediately that the other is different. There is no question about it, Bill is a vampire. Sookie is intrigued as opposed to fearful and she makes her way over to Bill almost immediately. We can tell from his sexy cryptic smile that Bill likes Sookie and this is the beginning of something intense. It’s playing with fire and we are immediately looking to get burned.

Now for those of you still with me wondering how in the world any of this is relevant in the real world here is my explanation. From the start of the first episode we learn that things, people and vampires aren’t always what they appear to be on the surface. It is obvious that there is definite discrimination going on in the fictitious Louisiana town of Bon Temps against vampires. At the end of the beginning credit there is a sign that reads, “God hates Fangs.” That is a new twist on a familiar epithet that is thrown around way too often. I look at True Blood as a caricature of our society. The idea of equal rights amendments for vampires is laughable but not the idea of equal rights. In the True Blood world vampires are real and they live, sort of, in the society. The vampires feel and are capable of human emotion; this is demonstrated in Bill’s love for Sookie and in the second season Eric’s love for Godric. The vampires bleed, love, die and work like the humans.

They are unlike the humans because they literally live differently and are sustained by unconventional means. The more involved you become with the show the more human the vampire characters become. In the way there are good people and bad people there are good vampires and bad vampires. Although I will admit that the line between good and bad becomes blurred when dealing with vampires. Personally I enjoy the conflict that arises with conventional views of good intertwining with the nature of vampires. It is the expectation of some of the humans that the vampires be just like them and then when they fail to do that there is conflict. In real life this happens as well when people fail to be like the majority, there is conflict due to fear (perhaps some of that is justified), ignorance and a lack of tolerance. In the series, the character Sookie receives a lot of criticism, mainly from her own people, for being involved with Bill who is a vampire. We see in the first season that women who engage in relationships with vampires are being murdered by a serial killer.

It is obvious that someone has taken their disagreement with mix dating between the species a bit too far. Within the confines of the television show right away we think that’s so stupid, small minded and ignorant. But outside of Bon Temps, in the real world we aren’t so quick to see that sometimes we too are that stupid, small minded and ignorant when it comes to relationships that we don’t understand. Since it is a television show and not the real world we are able to see the true character of some of the vampires and we grow to care about them. Just like with humans they sometimes do things that we don’t agree with or particularly like, but that personal knowledge and insight we have on the vampires help us to have understanding and compassion. I think by most accounts it is safe to say that Bill is a good vampire. The show has given us a back story on Bill’s life and death. We have been able to understand what drives the character because of the look inside that we have been given. I think that if we apply that logic to real people and real situations by reminding ourselves that we all have back stories and histories that have shaped us and all of us are worthy of redemption, forgiveness and understanding.

As for me tomorrow night I will be tuning into the second season finale of “True Blood” with the rest of the shows fan following. It seems almost criminal to write an article about “True Blood” and not mention Nelson Ellis, who plays, Lafayette Reynolds who absolutely steals every scene that he is in. Steven Moyer who plays Bill Compton is brilliant and you can’t help but to fall in love with him right along with Sookie. Who doesn’t get chills when he says “Sookie” in that southern Bill Compton way? Anna Paquin is perfect as Sookie Stackhouse. For my own sake, I have to mention Alexander Skarsgard who plays Eric Northman. Eric is my absolute favorite character. I enjoy the richness of his character and how you love to hate him. Let’s face it he is not hard to look at either.

Obviously I find the show relevant and intriguing but if it were not any of those things I’d probably still tune in to see Skarsgard every week. The show has incredible characters and great actors who play those roles. It was my intention to name a few of the actors but that is not an exhaustive list of all the noteworthy characters and actors that make this show great. Lastly, I have to credit Charlaine Harris, who is the author of the Sookie Stackhouse books which are the basis for the show “True Blood.” After I started watching the television show I immediately started reading the books. The books obviously are wonderful as well and although the show is based on the books they are different enough for them both to be enjoyed separately. Hats off to HBO for snagging this gem.

A few weeks have passed and I have seen New Moon 3 times now… had to make sure this review was thorough, ya know.

So far this movie is not getting very good reviews and honestly I can see why.. although not because it isn’t a good movie. It is a fans movie, made for the fans, to appeal to the fans of Twilight… of which there are millions. It does not do a good job of hooking those new to the Twilight universe and you may not understand much of it if you haven’t seen the previous movie but frankly this movie franchise has enough fans to support it without giving much care to such details.

For Twilight newbies and those being dragged to see it by your Twilight obsessed friends or significant others… well you may be bored. New Moon is HEAVY on dialogue and short on action. Basically this movie takes you on a journey of a break-up (Bella and Edward), the deep depression that results, the healing process, and the realization that perhaps you can love again. All of this occurs with MUCH talking and reflection by Bella as a narrator. Fans of the Twilight universe are thrilled by this because they get to see the book come to life on screen. They want to be there for every agonizing second, every bad dream, every word uttered, etc. For the fans this is almost as good as getting to experience it for themselves… seeing Bella’s journey continue in New Moon.

In between moments of heartbreak and hope, Bella finds out that her dearest friend Jacob, who is helping her find her way out of depression, is hiding something from her. That something is revealed when Bella lashes out at the pack of Indian boys who Bella feels are taking her Jacob away. One of them morphs into a wolf and suddenly Bella is thrown back into  the world of the paranormal. Her ex boyfriend is a vampire and her best friend and potential new love interest can shape shift into a wolf. The scenes that involve the wolves are fantastically filmed and the roaring of the wolves as they attack vampires or protect Bella are enough to give you goosebumps for the remainder of the day.

Just as Bella comes to terms with Jacob’s animal instincts and begins to contemplate the possibility that he could be her future she is called back into the vampire world again. A vision seen by Alice makes it appear as though a poorly executed cliff dive by Bella was actually a suicide attempt. In a twist that fans everywhere are dying to witness, Edward mistakenly concludes that Bella is dead and he seeks to end his own life by provoking the keeper of vampire laws in executing him. Fans are treated to a moment when Edward stands on his patio in Rio De Janeiro, crushing his cell phone in his fingers, as he assumes (incorrectly) that Bella has died. The look on his face in that scene in worth the price of admission… love, pain, guilt, and torment.

In another moment of sweet torment Jacob begs Bella not to run off to Italy and try to save Edward… he pleads with her to stay for his sake. The look on Jacob’s face when he realizes that Edward, even after he abandoned her, is still the more important figure in her life… it is heartbreaking.

Some of the happier moments fans can look forward too are an often shirtless Jacob, the misty appearance of Edward as Bella engages in reckless behavior, and a better look at the La Push reservation and the members that make up the wolf pack.

If you area fan of the books, my guess is that you will love the movie. If you are new to the Twilight world you may be a bit bored with all the talking and and you may also be confused by the details that get glossed over in the assumption that you ARE a fan of the books. If you already hate the Twilight universe then why are you even visiting this site? Just saying… don’t be hater. ;)

This is a recap of True Blood Episode 209, season 2, titled I Will Rise Up.

Outside of Godric’s home Bill is speaking to Lorena. He tells her that she is dead to him and and runs away in tears. He looks back to the house sensing something and it explodes into flames. Bill enters the destruction and searches for Sookie. He sees her lying underneath Eric who tells Bill he shielded her and she is only stunned not hurt. Eric tells Bill to take care of the humans and when Bill looks behind him he sees humans with crossbows waiting to finish off survivors. He runs after them, pulling one from a  car trying to escape, and bites.

Sookie pushes Eric off of her and and yells for Jason. When she is satisfied he is not hurt she turns to Eric who does not seem to be healing. He tells Sookie it is the silver and asks her to suck it out of his wounds. At first Sookie declines in disgust but Eric moans that he is dying and faints. A very unhappy Sookie starts to suck out the silver from his neck. She gets a large chunk and spits it out. He tells her there is more and she moves to his chest. As she sucks at the wound Eric can be seen smiling.

Bill lets his victim go telling him to tell all his friends that a vampire showed mercy where they had shown none. He goes back into the house and sees Sookie and Eric… he looks away in discomfort and asks Sookie what she is doing. Sookie explains that she saved Eric’s life by sucking the silver pieces out of his blood. In disgust Bill tells her that Eric’s life was in no danger…. that the silver would have pushed itself out. Sookie looks back at Eric and he smiles telling her it was a tiny falsehood. Bill reminds her they are connected now and that Eric will be able to sense her emotions. Sookie slaps Eric on the chest and calls him some names. Eric remains amused.

After returning to their hotel Sookie talks of how angry she is at Eric. Bill reminds her that she was just trying to do what what she thought was good and that she should not be ashamed of it. Sookie insists that Eric knowing where she is at all times and knowing how she feels is unbearable. Bill confesses that it will also likely mean Sookie will find herself sexually attracted Eric as well. Sookie says she could kill Eric for this and Bill agrees.

Marianne finds Tara and Eggs bemoaning their injuries and the fact that they blacked out once again. She tells them that blacking out and is a sign of a higher consciousness.

Unable to sleep during the day Sookie leaves Bill in bed and goes to her brother’s room where they have a heart to heart and reaffirm their commitment to taking care of each other. They also watch some of the news coverage about the suicide bombing.

Tara and Eggs go to Merlotte’s and immediately Lafayette sees Tara’s bruises and accuses Eggs of beating on her. A fight almost ensues.

At the hotel again, Sookie finds herself naked in bed with Eric. They chat cozily about why Sookie would or would not make a good vampire. Eric tells Sookie she is fiercely loyal to the people she loves including himself. Sookie tells Eric she used to think he was cold and hard and empty inside but now she knows he is a faker.. he has love inside him. Eric tells her that love is only for her and kisses her passionately. He tells her… “This is the beginning.” Sookie wakes up and realizes it was all a dream. She turns toward Bill who is sleeping and stares at him in confusion.

At the jail cell Sam hears Marianne come inside and decides to escape. He turns into a fly and when Marianne comes to his cell she only sees a pile of clothing. She lets the townsfolk out of their cells.

In Merlotte’s Hoyt mother meets Jessica and is not very nice. She tells Jessica that Hoyt deserves someone who can give him children and Jessica runs away crying.

Tara, Eggs, and Marianne are playing cards at Sookie’s house when Lafayette and Tara’s mother enter. Lafayette fights Eggs off and grabs Tara and runs away with her. Eggs wants to follow but Marianne tells him not to.

Marianne goes to Merlotte’s looking for Sam and declares that the God who comes demands his sacrifice. Everyone’s eyes go black and she demands that they bring Sam to her.

At the vampire hotel, Nan Flanagan berates Godric and the other vamps for their PR mess. She tells Godric he is fired from his job as Sheriff and he agrees that he should give up all positions of power. He admits that he volunteered to meet the sun in the FotS ceremony and Eric is visibly shaken by this news. Sookie keeps staring at Eric and Bill notices in anger.

When they get up to leave Godirc tells Eric to meet him on the roof. Eric tries to follow but Bill stands in his way and demands that they have it out about how he deceived Sookie. Bill punches Eric in the face and asks if he has made his point. Eric, still sad about Godric, simply says that was is done is done, he and Sookie are bonded now.

When Sookie and Bill are alone she tells him that she is going to go find Godric to be with him when he is in pain. Bill understands but wants to go with her. Since the dawn is coming Sookie refuses to let him come.

Up on the roof Sookie sees Eric cry tears of blood and beg Godric not to let himself be burned alive as the sun rises. When Godric insists that he wants to die Eric declares that he will die along side him. Godric uses his influence as Eric’s maker to command him to go inside. Eric retreats and Sookie grabs his hand for a moment and tells him she will stay with Godric until it is over.. which comforts Eric.

Godric and Sookie speak on the roof for awhile and he tells her he hopes that  God is forgiving. He also tells her that he is not afraid and is in fact joyous to die… he is ready. Godric is surprised and happy to be with a human at the end and one who cries for him no less. Then as the sun comes up he removes his shirt and walks toward it, letting his body be engulfed in blue flames. His ashes are carried away by the wind.

This is a recap of True Blood Episode 208, season 2, titled Timebomb.

This episode starts out in the FotS church basement. Godric has just pulled Gabe off of Sookie and Godric snaps his neck in an instant. Immediately he senses another vampire and calls “his child” down to him. It is Eric. Eric kneels before Godric and Godric orders him to take Sookie and get her out of the church and not to harm any humans on the way out.

Meanwhile Jason has just been shot with a paintball gun by Sarah Newlin. He is confused about why she is angry but when she mentions that they are holding Sookie captive he pushes Sarah to the side of the road and jumps in her ATV stating that if Sookie has been harmed he will be back… and not with a paint gun.

The church is being evacuated and Eric tells Sookie he will have her out fast but she warns him that children are around. Eric adopts a southern bumpkin accent and approaches three of the church members telling them that  that Steve has told him to guard the door. One of the men notices that Eric has no stake and demands to know why. Eric glamours the man into giving him his stake but another one of the men attacks from behind. Eric quickly swats them away like flies but stops short of staking one at Sookie’s insistence. Sookie tells Eric to follow her to another exit since church goers with wooden arrows are approaching. They go into the sanctuary and get surrounded. Steve tells everyone that they will have their holy bonfire and Eric steps forward to be the sacrifice, murmuring to Sookie that he will be okay.

Lorena is still at the vampire hotel holding Bill hostage and now Barry. She bites Barry and pauses saying that he tastes different. She asks him what he is but Bull uses her distraction to hit her over the head with a flat screen TV. Bill grabs Barry and they escape. Bill stops into Jessica’s room and sees her making love with Hoyt. Bill asks Hoyt to take her Bon Temps before the sun rises.

Sam is sleeping in his truck and gets awakened by a call on his cell phone from Merlotte’s. Since the bar should be closed he has no idea who called. He goes to the bar and goes inside to see the freezer open. Daphne is inside it with her heart cut out. Within a few minutes the police arrive.

Marianne is back at Sookie’s sauteing vegetables… to which she adds cut pieces of a human heart.

Eric is laying on the alter where he is supposed to meet the sun. He is held down by silver chains. Eric tells Steve he willingly exchanges his life for Godric’s and Sookie’s. Steve refuses to honor this request and tells him that Sookie is just as guilty and he proposes that they tie her to Eric so they can meet the sun together. Sookie screams trying to get away and Bill bursts in. As he runs for Sookie, Steve holds a gun to her head and tells Bill not to come any further.

Just then Jason shoots Steve in the hand with a paintball making him drop the gun. Bill runs up to Sookie and knocks her attackers away, they embrace. Jason then shoots Steve in the head with a paintball causing him to stumble backwards and Sookie uses this opportunity to run to Eric (despite Bill’s protest) and take the silver chains off of him. Eric gets up and grabs Steve by the neck and forces him to the ground. Sookie demands that Eric not kill him. At that moment a large group of the Texas vampires break into the sanctuary and surround the humans. On Stan’s command they attack and are just about to feed on the FotS church goers when Godric commands them to stop. Godric tells his followers to stand down and then asks Steve Newlin to help him end this peacefully. Steve refuses saying that Jesus will protect him and he goads Eric to kill him. Godric interjects that he is actually older than Jesus and is sorry he missed knowing him. Godric dismisses his followers and they leave.

Back at Merlotte’s Sam tries to convince the police he is innocent. Marianne feeds Tara and Eggs the cooked heart, which they start devouring.

Back at Godric’s house Bill avoids telling Sookie where he was and only tells her he was held. Jason is praised by Godric for helping them and Eric too tells him that his previous transgressions in buying and selling vampire blood are forgiven… provided he doesn’t do it anymore. Isabel brings Hugo into the house for judgment but upon seeing how much Isabel loves him Godric tells him he can go, as along as he goes far away.

Sam is put in jail along with dozens of other townsfolk who have been getting into mischief that Marianne is no doubt behind.

Eric approaches Godric at the vampire gathering and tries to determine why he let himself be taken captive. Godric lectures about how humans have evolved and vampires haven’t and how humans are right to fear vampires. Godric tells Eric he sees no harm in treating humans as equals.

Tara and Eggs have finished their unique dinner and now have the black eyes that signify Marianne is controlling them. Marianne watches as they punch each other several times and fall to the floor to have sex.

Back at the party Lorena arrives and approaches Sookie. Bill interrupts and tries to get Lorena to leave. Sookie throws some insults at Lorena and claims she will never have Bill and Lorena attacks Sookie. Godric appears just as Lorena is about to bite Sookie and restrains her. He orders her to go and Bill to escort her out. They go outside as Lorena and cries about how much she loves him.

Back inside the house Luke enters the vampire nest and he pushes Jason away as he approaches, telling him to stay back. He gets every one’s attention and tells them he is from the Fellowship of the Sun and he has a message from Steve Newlin. He then opens his jacket to reveal a bomb with silver chains wrapped around it. He pushes the detonation button as the scene closes.
