Before I begin this review, there are two facts that I must disclose to anyone who hasn’t been following my posts: First, I am a completely devoted fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and all things therein associated. Second, I absolutely love animated and cartoony versions of non-cartoon subjects. When Electric Tiki combined Buffy with their Tooned Up TV Maquettes line, it was like putting peanut butter into my jelly. It was just meant to be. So it’s with that admitted bias the size of Texas that I enter into this review of their newest release, Glorificus, also known as Glory.

Back at Dragon*Con in September, we spoke with comics creator Josh Elder about his awesome project, Reading With Pictures. He’s teamed up with some other folks in the comics industry to help bring comic books into the realm of education and to break down some of the barriers that have been keeping comics out of classrooms. Since our interview with Josh, he’s been hard at work on RWP and has set up a website for the organization. Now Josh and his group are planning a fundraiser auction in December, and they’re looking for donations of original art, as well as prints and books. A lot of people shun Disney or kids’ comics because of their cutesy art styles and simple storylines. Unfortunately, this title will probably show off both of those traits to the casual comic reader’s eyes.

As for those of us who still enjoy watching Saturday morning cartoons, Disney films and old House of Mouse episodes, and actual humor, this could be a definite purchase.
