I understand a clan is based on clan points earned by players, but what I don't understand is how much experience is equivalent to 1 clan point. Can anyone help me out here?

If you have an edited version of a game that has, say, less blood that the normal version along with bodies that disappear quickly among other things you might expect that the edited versions might have better performance than the original. PCGamesHardware.com seems to have discovered just that with an censored version of the Left 4 Dead 2 demo.

The edited version which is made available in the web site's native Germany, runs about 40 percent faster than the unedited demo, according to the article. While it implies that players of the cut version will have an advantage in any multiplayer game, it also points out that the amount of violence in the regular version can be adjusted by the players

Left 4 Dead 2 pre-load now available on Steam

We still have over 10 days before Left 4 Dead 2 is released but today Valve has given the go-ahead for people who pre-ordered the zombie shooter sequel to start pre-loading the game onto their hard drives via the Steam client. That means PC games who take advantage of this opportunity should be able to play the game only a few minutes after Valve unlocks the game on November 17.

Keep in mind that Valve still has that 10 percent pre-order discount for the game. It's still in effect until the game's release date. Also the Four Pack deal (where you purchase four Steam codes of the game at once) is also still available for the 10 percent discount which means you can pay for four copies for the price of less than three in the current price promotion.

L4D2 : My early REVIEW

Been playing the L4D2 Demo since it went public. . here are my initial reactions :

1. The Spitter : Will spit acid at you , so if you get incap in that puddle ,chances are you will die. . so it adds a whole new dimension to the versus mode

2. The Charger : TANK's younger brother [not official] is the single most awesome special infected that i encountered. It just steam rolls on to you .

3. The Jockey - Did not find it that usefull in The Parish Campaign because there are no high rise buildings here.

4. The characters: The dialogues between the characters has really been improved, they are now really talkative.

5. Melee Weapons : AWESOME ! Tried the Guitar and the machete

6. The texture : has really been improved keeping in mind the scalability of the game , the minimum specs kinda remain the same. But the game looks even cooler in daylight.

7. New Weapons : Weapons have a different feel as well. The number of common infected has been seriously reduced and the models have been made to look better. There area new concepts like incineratory ammo which sets the infected on fire. Adrenaline shots which give speed boost. There is this canned boomer vomit, so you can divert the horde to attack either one of them or just some random area in the game.

All in all , I think L4D2 brings a lot to the table. Definitely justifies a new game. But renders L4D redundant, no matter what VAVLE says. . They are even importing L4D1 maps into the second version.

So definitely makes for a worth buy when it retails.

Valve: Left 4 Dead 2's pre-orders are four times that of original

Looks like the so-called "protest" by a group of gamers against the release of Left 4 Dead 2 had just about zero effect on pre-orders for Valve's zombie shooter sequel. According to Computer and Video Games' Valve's Chet Faliszek stated that pre-orders have come in at "four times" the amount of the original game released just a year ago.

And what about those protesters who feel that releasing Left 4 Dead 2 just over a year after the original would split the community and is simply a way for Valve to get more money? Faliszek states that there will always be someone complaining about something and adds, "Honestly I made the joke and it's true: If you put $20 in a box and charge $10 for it someone would complain you didn't put $50 in a box."

Gearbox's Randy Pitchford critical of Valve and Steam . . . again

Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford must be flying high on the critical and sales success of their first person shooter Borderlands. And he's not afraid to speak his mind on any number of subjects. A few weeks ago we reported that he made statements that were high critical of Valve, saying their ownership of the Steam download platform was a conflict of Interest and that smaller developers were being exploited. Smaller developers who have worked with Valve to get their games on Steam quickly defended Valve, saying their distribution terms were better than others.

Now Pitchford has reportedly taken a few more shots at Valve's expense. Industry Gamers reports that Pitchford, quoted in a new issue of the U.K.'s Official PlayStation Magazine, stated, "Valve think their own stuff is the only stuff that matters, to the point where they have their own distribution platform." While he does feel Steam itself is a good system he added, " . . . . at the same time they're reliant on the rest of the world. They had to do that [Left 4 Dead] deal with EA. When I see the L4D ad on the television I don't see a Valve logo, I see an EA logo, and when I bought it, I bought it at a store." It's pretty clear that Pitchford would like to see Steam be handled as a separate business with no connections to Valve.
