Formation

FORMATION:

I’m going to go with my Attacking tactics (PaX’s Attacking Tactic) for this year also. I want to check how it works against big teams of Europe in the Champions League.

Team will need some time to gel in together well but i hope the magical run still continues.

LIVING AL MUBARAK’S (MAN CITY OWNER) DREAM

To check whether abundant budget can help in winning the titles, I decided to manage Manchester City. I decided to play with a new attacking formation, for which I needed quick players. As big names wouldn’t look at the club, I managed to sign some good young player. In beginning I had a slow start. But as the team gelled well together, there was no looking back. The whole season was clouded with tiring mid-week matches and many small injuries. But with all the drama, we lost only 2 matches and came out on the top by winning Premier League, Euro Cup and League Cup.

Every player’s contribution was felt in this flawless season. 7 goals headed by Richards, 17 Assists  by Diego, 42 goals by Huntelaar and 26 goals and 17 assists by Matias(Best Player of the team) was the simply amazing.

Veloso didn’t have the best season of his life but i’m sure he’ll show why he’s one of the best DM in the coming season.

With amazing contribution by Huntelaar, Matias and Robihno the team looked very threatning.

The board was delighted with me. I guess there’s a big transfer budget waiting for me in the next season so cya guys with next post being about new signings that i’ll be making.

Club Standings

I just want you to look at the Man City and Chelsea (in Green highlight) in the Table above. In the history of my Football Managers, I’ve never had such a “neck-to-neck” competition. First time I’m feeling exciting and scared at the same time. Exciting obviously because I’m leading the competition but scared because every game counts now. Make one lousy draw or defeat and the Title goes away within a moment.

RESULTS

Results

Out of 17 matches, 14 Wins, 3 Draws and 0 Defeats. Even I’m shocked but for this formation (PaX’s Attacking Tactic) is making miracles

Best Match has to be trashing Man Utd 5-2 home in the 2nd Leg of the League Cup. It’s the by far the best result in this season.

Worst Match would be the only 1-0 win against Fulham at home. Was expecting much more from the players but only 1 goal that too came at 80th minute.

LEAGUE CUP WINNERS

We just didn’t win the League Cup, we won it in style. With higher Possession and 3 Clear-Cut Chances, we dominated the game pretty much. And to top it all the only goal scored in the game was scored by a reserve player.

UPCOMING MATCHES

Upcoming Matches

With upcoming matches against Man Utd, Everton and Chelsea in line, I’m going to be tensed like anything. The most challenging will be playing Man Utd in Old Trafford and most important will be playing Chelsea at home (gonna take revenge for the last and the only defeat in my season).

History is in the making so please wish me luck.

Mid-Season Results

Total of 22 Wins, 7 Draws and only 1 Defeat I’m going strong with this Man City squad. Going neck-and-neck with Chlesea through-out the season is like amazing with this young squad. While media is predicting the team in the 9th spot and the team not losing execpt against Chelsea, I guess I’m very pleased with the team.

Biggest win till the mid-season is 2-0 against Man Utd. The game was just perfectly played by the team.

Biggest defeat was 2-3 against Chelsea (and it was the only defeat). Game went pretty good for me but the nightmare kicked in when Chelsea goals were coming from Freekicks and Corner (which lets face it you can’t stop it).

Players Performance

Well with so many victories its quite obvious the team had performed very well. With an average rating of 7.17 of the 1st team, i can see now the players have “gelled” quite well.

Matias is singled out for his spectacular performance as a Playmaker, Freekick and Penalty Taker. With average rating of 7.39 and scoring 15 goals and 4 assists in 24 games has made him my “Man of the Mid-Season”

Top Goal scorers of Premier League

Team scoring 2 goals every match, few of my players have to be on Top Scorers list. And in-fact top 2 goal scorers (Huntelaar and Matias) are of Man City. Huntelaar the Targetman and Matias the Playmaker have definitely made their presence felt in the Premier League.

Competitions ahead

Qualifying for the 1st Knockout Round of EURO CUP, 2nd in Premier League and beating Wolves in Quater finals to play Semi-finals against Man Utd in League Cup is seriously more than what I’d expected.

Well the teams looks like its on a roll and I hope the run continues till the end of the season.

MATCH ANALYSIS:

1-0 win with 2nd Team. As the team had been playing 2 games per week, I decided to rest the 1st Team for this. Only 2nd team (except the GK) were playing this one throughout the game and they didn’t disappoint me. And wanted them to gain playing in league expirence.

Even the though the possesion didn’t impress me, I was impressed by the shots and Shots on Target vs Cardiff’s 0(zero) Shots on Target. Offside trap worked like a charm. Every player had 7+ post-match ratings.

I know one would expect to win by much bigger margin but it was just 4th round of League Cup so 1-0 is satisfying with 2nd team. And clean-sheet is back
