Thanks to Tomas Krivda to point out some website whose encoding didn’t play nice with our pacer.

This brought us to support many more encoding types properly. You can now enjoy your Slovak news, really really fast.

New update for reading pacer

The most requested feature is now here. The reading pacer now remembers your settings. No more changing to your preferences everytime you use our reading pacer. Now you can do it once and we’ll remember your settings for you.

The second new feature of the day is: now you have an option to keep your reading line vertically centered. Just choose to show 3 or more lines at the time and you’ll have the option to center the current reading line. This creates a more natural reading flow and it will allow you to read even faster.

Beta Program registration open

We’ll soon be launching a paid product with a slew of really cool features that will get you to read 3x faster or more in no time. The first one hundred people to register on the site will be included in the beta and will receive all the benefit of the program free of charge for 3 months.

New and Improved Bookmarklet

We just finished improving our bookmarklet! It now plays nice with UTF-8 encoding.

What does that mean?

It means that all those funny accents that are present in romantic languages like Italian, French and so on are being preserved for your reading pleasure.

Apparently this was a bug that afflicted our European friends that used the bookmarklet on romantic languages based website in Safari. We thank Istvan from Hungary for bringing up the issue to our attention first. We believe we squashed this bug for good.

This bookmarklet also performs much faster then the previous one and it will be the last time, hopefully, that you will need to update the bookmarklet. From now on we’re going to be able to do some really neat things for you.

We added text statistics to eyercize.com. Now you can see how many words are unique, and are among the most common words in the English language.
