The purpose of this site http://examiningthescripturesdaily.blogspot.com/ that started in 2006 has been to give a complementary way to read the daily text from the Examining the Scriptures Daily booklet online as the Watch Tower has not provided it to date. It has been available from two websites with the option to use an RSS feed as well as subscribe via email or follow on Twitter.

Those behind this site are Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The site has always been non-commercial and has never contained anything offensive for Jehovah’s Witnesses. It has been a safe place to visit for any Jehovah’s Witness or anyone interested.

We know many have benefitted from this site.

A few have complained and when questioned on the legality of this site we have provided a response like this:

The daily text is a private initiative that started because we personally had a need for it. Very soon we understood that many others had the same need. We have done this blog since 2006.

Publishing a small part of a book this way can be done legally based on "fair use".

If this is something that bothers you please feel free to contact the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.

So it was a surprise that we were contacted by the legal department of the Watch Tower after more than three and a half years of operation, see below.

Why does Watch Tower not want this web site to remain in operation? Why have they not provided similar information on their websites?

We hope that The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society one day adds Examining The Scriptures Daily to any of the official websites and of course in all available languages.

We also hope that the Watch Tower stops with their copyright restrictions on their literature to further the world wide work of preaching the good news.

One strange thing with the license agreement for Watchtower Library is that it seems that you cannot even copy a Bible quote from the CD and email to a friend or put on Internet like a personal blog or website. Please note below.

Do you think Jehovah or Jesus would protect the Bible using copyright laws? Still the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures that is included on the Watchtower Library is under copyright. Jehovah’s Witnesses have copyrighted the Bible. While the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society have not written the Bible, how can they copyright it? Would any Christian believe that God or Jesus will approve of someone that tries to hinder others to read God’s word?

“Let anyone thirsting come; let anyone that wishes take life’s water free.” (Revelation 22:17) Today, that invitation is being sounded earth wide. Why then does the Watch Tower want to limit the flow of life’s water?

Above quote is taken from the same document that is quoted in the book released by the Watch Tower during 2009 “Keep on the Watch!” Conventions, “Bearing Thorough Witness About God's Kingdom.”

According to our conscience trained by Bible studies and the Watch Tower literature we believe God not only approve of this website but we think it is the right thing to do.

We feel sorry for all friends that are in the truth that cannot longer get daily support and encouragement from these sites any more. We hope you can find the daily text elsewhere online.

Jehovah's Witnesses current pedophile policy year 2012

What is so much worse is how the Watch Tower the organization behind Jehovah’s Witness silences children that have been abused by pedophiles within the organization.

A scary thing is how the Watch Tower silences victims of sexual abuse and rape. Jehovah’s Witnesses harass, threaten and persecute everyone inside the organization that tries to protect the children. The Watch Tower organization takes away the freedom of speech among its members. Even thou the Jehovah’s Witnesses now allows you to go to the police and authorities if you have been molested or if your child have been molested the reality is that in many cases you will end up in much trouble within the organization because you contact the police and authorities and not keep silent.

Many have been disfellowshipped (excommunicated and shunned) from Jehovah’s Witnesses without any or with little possibility of defend themselves just because they tried to stand up for molested children and protect them from pedophiles within Jehovah’s Witnesses organization.

If you question Jehovah’s Witnesses about these things you cannot rely on them telling the truth not even in the court.

“While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it.” - Insight-2 p. 245

Do Jehovah’s Witnesses protect pedophiles within the organization? Yes, they do. The policy of Jehovah’s Witnesses is that if a congregation has a known pedophile only a few of the elders in the congregation knows about it. Today the elders, that know they have pedophiles in their congregation, are not allowed to warn and protect the congregation. This is the current policy of the Watch Tower.

Here is an illustration: Everyday around the world parents leave their children in daycare. What if the daycare manager saying: “Your children are welcome to play here at the playground. There are anti-personnel mines here and there and I know where most of them are. But where they are I will not tell you, this is none of your business. Let’s hope no children steps on them and got hurt or killed. You can feel save to leave the children in our care.”

NO LOVING PARENT would leave their children to a daycare in a situation like this. Still this is EXACTLY what happens in the congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Only a few elders knows who are known pedophiles in the congregation but the rest of the congregation are denied, not allowed to know who are pedophiles and can therefore NOT PROPERLY PROTECT THEIR OWN CHILDREN!

CHANGE THIS POLICY! GIVE US THE RIGHT TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN AGAINS KNOWN PEDOPHILES WITHIN JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES ORGANIZATION!

A pedophile is also encouraged to visit people from door to door by the elders (leaders) among Jehovah’s Witnesses and this means that if you open the door for a Jehovah’s Witness you might have a pedophile in front of you or your children. And if you are a Jehovah’s Witnesses and preaching in service you can have, unaware to you, a pedophile in your car group together with your own children!

Jehovah’s Witnesses must take community responsibility and NOT allow known pedophiles preach from door to door!

Please help to get all these things changed! You can call or write to Jehovah’s Witnesses headquarter or local branch. You can do it both if you are a Jehovah’s Witness or not.

Request them to remove the copyright restrictions. Request that known pedophiles should not be allowed to witness from door to door. Request the right to protect our children! Request them to answer you in writing!

If you get a visit from a Jehovah’s Witness ask them to explain why nothing is done to rectify these problems within Jehovah’s Witnesses.

When will there be a public apology from Jehovah’s Witnesses organization to the world? Their policies are behind the pain and suffering for so many children and their families.

It is time to take a stand and protect the CHILDREN!

In a five year legal battle with the Watch Tower Legal Department with an estimated one million plus in world wide work money being used to pay lawyers to prevent victims from receiving compensation. (Think of that next time you put your money in the contribution box at Kingdom Hall or contribute with money for Jehovah’s Witnesses literature.) At the end when discovery was going to allow clear evidence to be presented to a jury of negligence in dealing with abuse. The Watch Tower Legal Department pulled out the World Wide Work Check book and paid around $17 million with gag orders on the sixteen victims to prevent them from disclosing to the public how elders at the direction of the Governing Body were negligent and allowed multiple children to be molested and silenced after they were abused.

“Over a five day period in February 2007, 16 civil child sex abuse lawsuits against Watchtower (the Jehovah’s Witness headquarters in New York City) were quietly settled in three states (CA, TX and OR). The victims involved were essentially coerced into signing ‘gag orders’ that prevent them from discussing the cases.

We learned that 16 victims were paid the largest settlement in history of Jehovah’s Witnesses but forced to sign a gag order that forbids them from speaking about their abuse.

Attorney Jeff Anderson successful in over 600 lawsuits over abuse states, “When victims are forced to sign gag orders it is a continuation of the coerced code of silence from church hierarchy. Jehovah’s Witnesses silenced molested kids before the elders and now they are doing it in the courts.”

The Candace Conti Verdict Explained - Why the Watchtower has been punished over child abuse

The guilty verdict was for allowing a known child molester in their congregation to be kept a secret so he was able to continue his abuse on more children. The guilty verdict was for their official documented policy being to hide paedophiles and keep their identity secret. The guilty verdict was because they could have prevented the abuse but chose not to. The guilty verdict was for protecting paedophiles before children. The guilty verdict was for caring more about their own organisation's reputation than a child's innocence. And now they announced they are going to appeal. It was never about the money. Candace asked for 1 cent in damages from each of those claiming to be ruling the Jehovah's Witnesses.

17On the first day of the unfermented cakes the disciples came up to Jesus, saying: “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the passover?” 18He said: “Go into the city to So-and-so and say to him, The Teacher says, ‘My appointed time is near; I will celebrate the passover with my disciples at your home.’” 19And the disciples did as Jesus ordered them, and they got things ready for the passover.

20When, now, it had become evening, he was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples. 21While they were eating, he said: “Truly I say to YOU, One of YOU will betray me.” 22Being very much grieved at this, they commenced each and every one to say to him: “Lord, it is not I, is it?” 23In reply he said: “He that dips his hand with me in the bowl is the one that will betray me. 24True, the Son of man is going away, just as it is written concerning him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! It would have been finer for him if that man had not been born.” 25By way of reply Judas, who was about to betray him, said: “It is not I, is it, Rabbi?” He said to him: “You yourself said [it].”

12 And Jesus entered into the temple and threw out all those selling and buying in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 And he said to them: “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but YOU are making it a cave of robbers.”

Others began to say: “An angel has spoken to him.” 30 In answer Jesus said: “This voice has occurred, not for my sake, but for YOUR sakes. 31 Now there is a judging of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32 And yet I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw men of all sorts to me.” 33 This he was really saying to signify what sort of death he was about to die. 34 Therefore the crowd answered him: “We heard from the Law that the Christ remains forever; and how is it you say that the Son of man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of man?” 35 Jesus therefore said to them: “The light will be among YOU a little while longer. Walk while YOU have the light, so that darkness does not overpower YOU; and he that walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. 36 While YOU have the light, exercise faith in the light, in order to become sons of light.”

Jesus spoke these things and went off and hid from them. 37 But although he had performed so many signs before them, they were not putting faith in him, 38 so that the word of Isaiah the prophet was fulfilled which he said: “Jehovah, who has put faith in the thing heard by us? And as for the arm of Jehovah, to whom has it been revealed?” 39 The reason why they were not able to believe is that again Isaiah said: 40 “He has blinded their eyes and he has made their hearts hard, that they should not see with their eyes and get the thought with their hearts and turn around and I should heal them.” 41 Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory, and he spoke about him. 42 All the same, many even of the rulers actually put faith in him, but because of the Pharisees they would not confess [him], in order not to be expelled from the synagogue; 43 for they loved the glory of men more than even the glory of God.

44 However, Jesus cried out and said: “He that puts faith in me puts faith, not in me [only], but in him [also] that sent me; 45 and he that beholds me beholds [also] him that sent me. 46 I have come as a light into the world, in order that everyone putting faith in me may not remain in the darkness. 47 But if anyone hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I came, not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that disregards me and does not receive my sayings has one to judge him. The word that I have spoken is what will judge him in the last day; 49 because I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak. 50 Also, I know that his commandment means everlasting life. Therefore the things I speak, just as the Father has told me [them], so I speak [them].”

Matthew 21:1-11, 14-17

1 Well, when they got close to Jerusalem and arrived at Beth´pha·ge on the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent forth two disciples, 2 saying to them: “Be on YOUR way into the village that is within sight of YOU, and YOU will at once find an ass tied, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me. 3 And if someone says anything to YOU, YOU must say, ‘The Lord needs them.’ At that he will immediately send them forth.”

4 This actually took place that there might be fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet, saying: 5 “TELL the daughter of Zion, ‘Look! Your King is coming to you, mild-tempered, and mounted upon an ass, yes, upon a colt, the offspring of a beast of burden.’”

6So the disciples got on their way and did just as Jesus ordered them. 7 And they brought the ass and its colt, and they put upon these their outer garments, and he seated himself upon them. 8 Most of the crowd spread their outer garments on the road, while others began cutting down branches from the trees and spreading them on the road. 9 As for the crowds, those going ahead of him and those following kept crying out: “Save, we pray, the Son of David! Blessed is he that comes in Jehovah’s name! Save him, we pray, in the heights above!”

10 Now when he entered into Jerusalem, the whole city was set in commotion, saying: “Who is this?” 11 The crowds kept telling: “This is the prophet Jesus, from Naz´a·reth of Gal´i·lee!”

14 Also, blind and lame persons came up to him in the temple, and he cured them.
15 When the chief priests and the scribes saw the marvelous things he did and the boys that were crying out in the temple and saying: “Save, we pray, the Son of David!” they became indignant 16 and said to him: “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them: “Yes. Did YOU never read this, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings you have furnished praise’?” 17 And leaving them behind he went outside the city to Beth´a·ny and passed the night there.

Listen carefully for the explanation of the new light that will be presented:

• Recent clarification of Matthew 24:34 underscores that we are living deep in the time of the end. (w10 4/15 10-11 pars. 13-14; w08 2/15 23-25 pars. 10-15, box)

• A generation consists of contemporaries—individuals who live at the same time.

• For example, Exodus 1:6 refers to Joseph and "all his brothers" as "all that generation".

• Ten of Joseph's brothers witnessed events that occurred before Joseph’s birth; at least two of his brothers lived on after his death. (Ge 50:24)

• Although ages varied, these contemporaries were viewed as one generation.

• Correspondingly, the "generation" referred to at Matthew 24:34 comprises two groups of anointed Christians.

• The first group was on hand in 1914 when "the sign" of Christ's presence began to be observed. (Mt 24:3)

• The second group, made up of those who were anointed later, are for a time contemporaries of the older group.

• Jesus' words at Matthew 24:34 indicate that some in the second group will witness the beginning of the "great tribulation"; hence, the length of the "generation" is limited.

• To illustrate: F. W. Franz was born in 1893, baptized in 1913, and thus alive to discern "the sign" in 1914.

• Since Brother Franz lived until 1992, many present-day anointed ones were contemporaries of his and are part of the "generation" that Jesus said would not pass away "until all these things occur".

1 At that time, therefore, Pilate took Jesus and scourged him. 2 And the soldiers braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head and arrayed him with a purple outer garment; 3 and they began coming up to him and saying: “Good day, you King of the Jews!” Also, they would give him slaps in the face. 4 And Pilate went outside again and said to them: “See! I bring him outside to YOU in order for YOU to know I find no fault in him.” 5 Accordingly Jesus came outside, wearing the thorny crown and the purple outer garment. And he said to them: “Look! The man!” 6 However, when the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying: “Impale [him]! Impale [him]!” Pilate said to them: “Take him yourselves and impale him, for I do not find any fault in him.” 7 The Jews answered him: “We have a law, and according to the law he ought to die, because he made himself God’s son.”

8 When, therefore, Pilate heard this saying, he became more fearful; 9 and he entered into the governor’s palace again and said to Jesus: “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer. 10 Hence Pilate said to him: “Are you not speaking to me? Do you not know I have authority to release you and I have authority to impale you?” 11 Jesus answered him: “You would have no authority at all against me unless it had been granted to you from above. This is why the man that handed me over to you has greater sin.”

12 For this reason Pilate kept on seeking how to release him. But the Jews shouted, saying: “If you release this [man], you are not a friend of Caesar. Every man making himself a king speaks against Caesar.” 13 Therefore Pilate, after hearing these words, brought Jesus outside, and he sat down on a judgment seat in a place called The Stone Pavement, but, in Hebrew, Gab´ba·tha. 14 Now it was preparation of the passover; it was about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews: “See! YOUR king!” 15 However, they shouted: “Take [him] away! Take [him] away! Impale him!” Pilate said to them: “Shall I impale YOUR king?” The chief priests answered: “We have no king but Caesar.” 16 At that time, therefore, he handed him over to them to be impaled.

Then they took charge of Jesus. 17 And, bearing the torture stake for himself, he went out to the so-called Skull Place, which is called Gol´go·tha in Hebrew; 18 and there they impaled him, and two other [men] with him, one on this side and one on that, but Jesus in the middle. 19 Pilate wrote a title also and put it on the torture stake. It was written: “Jesus the Naz·a·rene´ the King of the Jews.” 20 Therefore many of the Jews read this title, because the place where Jesus was impaled was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, in Greek. 21 However, the chief priests of the Jews began to say to Pilate: “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but that he said, ‘I am King of the Jews.’” 22 Pilate answered: “What I have written I have written.”

23 Now when the soldiers had impaled Jesus, they took his outer garments and made four parts, for each soldier a part, and the inner garment. But the inner garment was without a seam, being woven from the top throughout its length. 24 Therefore they said to one another: “Let us not tear it, but let us determine by lots over it whose it will be.” This was that the scripture might be fulfilled: “They apportioned my outer garments among themselves, and upon my apparel they cast lots.” And so the soldiers really did these things.

25 By the torture stake of Jesus, however, there were standing his mother and the sister of his mother; Mary the wife of Clo´pas, and Mary Mag´da·lene. 26 Therefore Jesus, seeing his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing by, said to his mother: “Woman, see! Your son!” 27 Next he said to the disciple: “See! Your mother!” And from that hour on the disciple took her to his own home.

28 After this, when Jesus knew that by now all things had been accomplished, in order that the scripture might be accomplished he said: “I am thirsty.” 29 A vessel was sitting there full of sour wine. Therefore they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a hyssop [stalk] and brought it to his mouth. 30 When, now, he had received the sour wine, Jesus said: “It has been accomplished!” and, bowing his head, he delivered up [his] spirit.

31 Then the Jews, since it was Preparation, in order that the bodies might not remain upon the torture stakes on the Sabbath, (for the day of that Sabbath was a great one,) requested Pilate to have their legs broken and the [bodies] taken away. 32 The soldiers came, therefore, and broke the legs of the first [man] and those of the other [man] that had been impaled with him. 33 But on coming to Jesus, as they saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Yet one of the soldiers jabbed his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. 35 And he that has seen [it] has borne witness, and his witness is true, and that man knows he tells true things, in order that YOU also may believe. 36 In fact, these things took place in order for the scripture to be fulfilled: “Not a bone of his will be crushed.” 37 And, again, a different scripture says: “They will look to the One whom they pierced.”

38 Now after these things Joseph from Ar·i·ma·the´a, who was a disciple of Jesus but a secret one out of [his] fear of the Jews, requested Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. Therefore he came and took his body away. 39 Nic·o·de´mus also, the man that came to him in the night the first time, came bringing a roll of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds [of it]. 40 So they took the body of Jesus and bound it up with bandages with the spices, just the way the Jews have the custom of preparing for burial. 41 Incidentally, at the place where he was impaled there was a garden, and in the garden a new memorial tomb, in which no one had ever yet been laid. 42 There, then, on account of the preparation of the Jews, they laid Jesus, because the memorial tomb was nearby.

Mark 14:12-16
1 Now the passover and the [festival of] unfermented cakes was two days later. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to seize him by crafty device and kill him; 2 for they repeatedly said: “Not at the festival; perhaps there might be an uproar of the people.”

3 And while he was at Beth´a·ny in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining at the meal, a woman came with an alabaster case of perfumed oil, genuine nard, very expensive. Breaking open the alabaster case she began to pour it upon his head. 4 At this there were some expressing indignation among themselves: “Why has this waste of the perfumed oil taken place? 5 For this perfumed oil could have been sold for upward of three hundred de·nar´i·i and been given to the poor!” And they were feeling great displeasure at her. 6 But Jesus said: “Let her alone. Why do YOU try to make trouble for her? She did a fine deed toward me. 7 For YOU always have the poor with YOU, and whenever YOU want to YOU can always do them good, but me YOU do not have always. 8 She did what she could; she undertook beforehand to put perfumed oil on my body in view of the burial. 9 Truly I say to YOU, Wherever the good news is preached in all the world, what this woman did shall also be told as a remembrance of her.”

10 And Judas Is·car´i·ot, one of the twelve, went off to the chief priests in order to betray him to them. 11 When they heard it, they rejoiced and promised to give him silver money. So he began seeking how to betray him conveniently.

12 Now on the first day of unfermented cakes, when they customarily sacrificed the passover [victim], his disciples said to him: “Where do you want us to go and prepare for you to eat the passover?” 13 With that he sent forth two of his disciples and said to them: “Go into the city, and a man carrying an earthenware vessel of water will encounter YOU. Follow him, 14 and wherever he goes inside say to the householder, ‘The Teacher says: “Where is the guest room for me where I may eat the passover with my disciples?”’ 15 And he will show YOU a large upper room, furnished in preparation; and there prepare for us.” 16 So the disciples went out, and they entered the city and found it just as he said to them; and they prepared for the passover.

Luke 22:7-13

14 Then one of the twelve, the one called Judas Is·car´i·ot, went to the chief priests 15 and said: “What will YOU give me to betray him to YOU?” They stipulated to him thirty silver pieces. 16 So from then on he kept seeking a good opportunity to betray him.

Luke 22:1-6
1 Now the festival of the unfermented cakes, the so-called Passover, was getting near. 2 Also, the chief priests and the scribes were seeking the effective way for them to get rid of him, for they were in fear of the people. 3 But Satan entered into Judas, the one called Is·car´i·ot, who was numbered among the twelve; 4 and he went off and talked with the chief priests and [temple] captains about the effective way to betray him to them. 5 Well, they rejoiced and agreed to give him silver money. 6 So he consented, and he began to seek a good opportunity to betray him to them without a crowd around.

5 Later, as certain ones were speaking concerning the temple, how it was adorned with fine stones and dedicated things, 6 he said: “As for these things that YOU are beholding, the days will come in which not a stone upon a stone will be left here and not be thrown down.” 7 Then they questioned him, saying: “Teacher, when will these things actually be, and what will be the sign when these things are destined to occur?” 8 He said: “Look out that YOU are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The due time has approached.’ Do not go after them. 9 Furthermore, when YOU hear of wars and disorders, do not be terrified. For these things must occur first, but the end does not [occur] immediately.”
10 Then he went on to say to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; 11 and there will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another pestilences and food shortages; and there will be fearful sights and from heaven great signs.
12 “But before all these things people will lay their hands upon YOU and persecute YOU, delivering YOU up to the synagogues and prisons, YOU being haled before kings and governors for the sake of my name. 13 It will turn out to YOU for a witness. 14 Therefore settle it in YOUR hearts not to rehearse beforehand how to make YOUR defense, 15 for I will give YOU a mouth and wisdom, which all YOUR opposers together will not be able to resist or dispute. 16 Moreover, YOU will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of YOU to death; 17 and YOU will be objects of hatred by all people because of my name. 18 And yet not a hair of YOUR heads will by any means perish. 19 By endurance on YOUR part YOU will acquire YOUR souls.
20 “Furthermore, when YOU see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near. 21 Then let those in Ju·de´a begin fleeing to the mountains, and let those in the midst of her withdraw, and let those in the country places not enter into her; 22 because these are days for meting out justice, that all the things written may be fulfilled. 23 Woe to the pregnant women and the ones suckling a baby in those days! For there will be great necessity upon the land and wrath on this people; 24 and they will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the nations, until the appointed times of the nations are fulfilled.
25 “Also, there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth anguish of nations, not knowing the way out because of the roaring of the sea and [its] agitation, 26 while men become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 But as these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift YOUR heads up, because YOUR deliverance is getting near.”
29 With that he spoke an illustration to them: “Note the fig tree and all the other trees: 30 When they are already in the bud, by observing it YOU know for yourselves that now the summer is near. 31 In this way YOU also, when YOU see these things occurring, know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Truly I say to YOU, This generation will by no means pass away until all things occur. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.
34 “But pay attention to yourselves that YOUR hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day be instantly upon YOU 35 as a snare. Jesus spoke these things and went off and hid from them. 37 But although he had performed so many signs before them, they were not putting faith in him, 38 so that the word of Isaiah the prophet was fulfilled which he said: “Jehovah, who has put faith in the thing heard by us? And as for the arm of Jehovah, to whom has it been revealed?” 39 The reason why they were not able to believe is that again Isaiah said: 40 “He has blinded their eyes and he has made their hearts hard, that they should not see with their eyes and get the thought with their hearts and turn around and I should heal them.” 41 Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory, and he spoke about him. 42 All the same, many even of the rulers actually put faith in him, but because of the Pharisees they would not confess [him], in order not to be expelled from the synagogue; 43 for they loved the glory of men more than even the glory of God.

44 However, Jesus cried out and said: “He that puts faith in me puts faith, not in me [only], but in him [also] that sent me; 45 and he that beholds me beholds [also] him that sent me. 46 I have come as a light into the world, in order that everyone putting faith in me may not remain in the darkness. 47 But if anyone hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I came, not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that disregards me and does not receive my sayings has one to judge him. I don't know how to express how much I appreciate the daily text and study schedule with links to the material on the new CD.
Life is so hectic and difficult to get under control and simplified. One thing after another seems to thwart all efforts, including mental and physical fatigue. My study habits went to the wayside for a while and without support in the household it was more of a challenge than I could seem to overcome. This is an incredible provision. I love you all! for your efforts in my behalf.
Only recently was I introduced to this daily text blog and have shared it with many persons that have found it's value also to be just the thing needed for those that have to work first thing in the morning and get the text in their email. How I wish I would have known about this provision sooner! Thank you so much for your work.
Although in a believing household I have never felt the refreshment of someone taking the lead in arranging a family discussion of the text. I always felt either 'pushing it' or 'on my own' in reading the text. Now I don't. I feel the refreshment of someone taking the lead! I can now instant message others that also have this sent and twitter comments so that I feel like I'm having a 'family' discussion with those that feel the same need to share in a discussion. Even if only one comment. It is such a lift. Thank you so much. I always longed for the easily available references that I looked up in my former single 'carefree' days. Hello. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is XXXX and currently residing here in XXXX. As you may know, this is a Muslim country and our worldwide work here is prohibited. I am a XXXX by origin. My intention of emailing you is to ask if these blog is generated by the WT Society or just an individual effort? I was hoping to make an additional suggestion if it would be proper or if you will allow me to have part on this blog site.
Please accept my personal commendation on such effort you have given to come up with this online daily bible text. A lot of our brothers and sisters will surely appreciate this. I am just an ordinary employee here in XXXX. But I may not tell you everything in details for security purposes. We are very careful on everything that we do when it comes to our spiritual work since it is prohibited and there is a system here that we follow. We even had to make changes on our terms such as meetings, study and kingdom hall. The use of internet had given a great contribution for the transfer of our materials as well as received further instructions from the Society.
Let me start with I have in mind. As I am preparing this email, I am praying to Jehovah God that I can explain this clearly in english so that you may understand. I have very little knowledge in computer, especially with network, websites and alike. The population of XXXX workers here in XXXX is increasing. I saw the need for doing something that our brothers and sisters (specially those new comers here in the XXXX) can still receive spiritual food. I have the means, but I don’t have the ability until I saw your site when I was researching. I just wanted to accomplish something that everyone can access a XXXX language version of our “Examining the Scriptures Daily”. Below is my suggestion:
I can send you the daily text material in XXXX, and in your part, you can just make a link where in it will take them to the XXXXversion of our daily text. Although English is our universal language, but there are some that would understand more our own native language.

I have felt that sending out the daily text was not only helpful to others that work, but especially to myself because I was actually able to keep up with the slave class. I'd just like to express how grateful I am for your wonderful website that I have just found.
A few months ago, the screen on my laptop went blank, so I could no longer use it for my days text or research for meeting etc. I gave my book away as I had it all on the computer.
However xxxxx we have mislaid the watchtower cd rom, so he has been copying the daily texts and sending them to me via email.
This system works quite well once he has sent them, often by the Wednesday, but I spiritually starve on the Monday and Tuesday, (today).
Jehovah knows how stressed I get if I can't read my daily text. I've been like a bear with a sore head all morning. I then decided to do a google search and typed in "examining the scriptures daily watchtower", and your wonderful website came up.
At first I was a little apprehensive to enter the website, given the counsel that we receive constantly from the faithful and discreet slave regarding websites and apostates. However, I prayed to Jehovah, clicked and entered.
I couldn't believe it. The days text is on the internet!! Thank you. Thank you very much for all your hard work and thoughtfulness. I cried with joy. Today, I really needed to read my text, Jehovah knew that, I know it was His direction.

I have to say I was a bit skeptical at first. Which is only natural if one wants to be on guard against apostate information. But so far, my fear has been unfounded, as the information is directly from the Examining the scriptures Daily Booklet.

I live in XX, MD (attending XX, MD Congregation), and right now I'm working 50+ hours per week. Since I'm at a computer for a portion of the day, I have your site bookmarked under my daily favorites in my Firefox browser, which I open every morning. It is so nice because it pretty much ensures that I will get to read the text every day since I have it come up automatically. After reading it, I leave that tab open as a reminder, and try to glance at the scripture throughout the day when I'm at the computer, as a reminder. I appreciate the work that goes into keeping this up, especially with the scripture links to the watchtower site - very helpful for someone with a schedule such as mine!

Thanks for your prompt reply. The truth is, I've seen and heard so many false interpretation of Jehovah's Witnesses on line. There are some sites that pretend to speak good of the Witnesses, when actually, their motive is to lure visitors to visit their sites and tell them half truth and some bunch of lies. Owing to that, I decided I will not accept any information about Jehovah's people and it's organization if it's not from the official site of Jehovah's Witnesses.
So, once I stumbled across your site and learnt of the services you offer, I was at first excited because that would mean that I can now be taking my daily text regularly, should I forget to take it before leaving home, your site and its services will allow me to take it in an electronic form. But then, after the first one to three updates, I dont know, but the synic in me, tells me that I could be recieving distorted or modified contents of the Examining the Scriptures Daily. But I have no grounds to prove the claim, so thats why I decided to write you people.

But now that you've answered my question, I think I am a little easy now and would only see how it goes. I do not intend to discredit your work and the fine job you are doing. Neither am I asserting that your motives of doing this great job is wicked or to decieve.

But I was wondering, this whole arrangement that you are providing, is with the knowledge or approval of the Governing Body? Does the Governing Body know about it?

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for providing this when I needed it. I just got my copy of the "2007 Watchtower CD ROM" from the Society and I can read it there. I think I was successful and unsubscribing myself from the service. However I didn't want to just drop with out saying "Why"
I hope that this service can continue for Brothers and Sisters who don't have a way to view the daily scriptures otherwise.

I just felt moved to write to say thanks for this blogspot.
Since discovering it about 4 months ago I not missed a single days text.
Previously I tried to be regular with the Society's paper version but found that it usually got put in the drawer sometime during the day and then I needed to remember to get it out again the following morning.
Since discovring your page I have set up a 'task' on my work PC that automatically opens the daily text at 10:00 am each day. If I arrive after that time it is the first thing I get to see. If I arrive before that time (rarely) then it pops up at just the right time.

co-worker and myself have "Examining the Scriptures Daily" link saved to our computers.
As our work spaces are adjacent we take turns reading the text to each other not knowing that another of our co-workers was listening until one day when she spoke up and said "you haven't read your devotionals today". As the ensuing conversation progressed the also mentioned how much she enjoyed hearing the text and asked to join in and could she comment also. Of course we said yes and she does.

Yes there are still problems in Kenya, and most people are unaware of some of the deeper problems. There are militias being trained in several parts of the country and it is difficult to say what they arebeing trained for - war or revenge.
At any rate, we keep leaving everything in the hands of the God of all comfort. Yesterday a 'peace deal' was arrived at, but we do not know how long it will last if at all.
Otherwsie we are relatively fine and enjoying our meetings - those of us who can attend. Some places are under curfew so meetings are abit tricky.
Keep praying for us, and thanks once again.

When I go to work in the morning, I read my RSS items, but because I have to go to work so early for my schedule so that I can pioneer, I never have time to read the text in the morning. Do you know what one of the provisions that Jehovah God has made in this time of our trial - that shows that he concerned about providing us timely spiritual food? It is your Examining the Scriptures Daily blog site.
Reading the text and meditating on the daily text each day has been a source of great strength to me (as is of course for countless other brothers and sisters) and as the end of last year approached, I made it a matter of prayer as to how I would be able to continue to do that for this year. Then, after the prayer, I searched the Internet for the phrase 'Examining the Scriptures Daily' and thus found your blog.
And as we continued this healthful practice of reading the daily text each day, soon afterwards, it is from your site I read the announcement of the Watchtower and Awake audio downloads.
I cannot thank Jehovah God and you enough for the wonderful way He has answered my prayers through you.

We'd ordered three printed Examining the Scriptures Daily, but due to a mix-up behind the literature counter with the congregation we share a hall with, they went elsewhere before we could pick them up. Our new WT CD still hasn't arrived, so we don't have that resource either. The CD is what we usually use during the work week at our respective offices to keep up with the daily text.

Thank you so much dear brothers for this timely meal. As yet we have not got our booklets, and we dont know how long we have to wait.
The situation in Kenya had calmed down, but now there is a fresh flare up of violence. It is no longer political, but looks more and more ethnic now. Our brothers in many places are suffering, especially those who do not belong to the local tribe. Where I live, things are still more or less peaceful,though there is a huge food shortage and since the economy has taken a nosedive, almost no funds left to buy yhe very expensive foods. The 'breadbasket' of the country is XXXX, which was the hardest hit area. A few more weeks of this and we will probably starve physically! But I am sure Jehovah will step in and save his people somehow. We have thrown ALL our burden on him as he invites us to do.

As for the situation here, there is a standoff between the political leaders, and from Wednesday the opposition say they will have mass action for three days. Means more bloodshed/looting etc. Anyway, we hope they will find a solution soon.

Thank you for your email. No, I did not get the email you sent as I hardly use that address now.
As to the situation in Kenya - it is bad politically. Many of our brothers have lost their homes and livelihoods. Also, there is a major snarl up at the port of Mombasa, so we are having very little spiritual food coming in. So we have sporadic issues of the magazines. However, I have not received any report of any brother losing their lives, which is a good thing. The branch office here is taking care of the displaced brothers, some in the capital city Nairobi, and many in the countrys interior.
Anyway, Jehovah is taking care of his own, and we definately need your prayers as there is now scarcity of physical food too as most of it comes from the interior. The little there is is VERY expensive, and not many of the brothers have money now or jobs. We are confident though that Jehovah will sustain us - as he always does.
Thank you for the daily text for January, and will inform you if we have not received our booklets at the end of the month.

First of all let me say upfront that I am a disassociated Witness (felt I was leading a double life and that it would bring reproach on Jehovah and his Organisation) from South Africa, now doing contract work in XXXX. If you don’t wish to communicate, I understand.
I wanted to say thank-you for the daily “glimpse” your site offers me, it provides much needed access to the organisations daily routine which used to be so much a part of my life – especially in a part of the world where Witnesses are not free to congregate, etc. This is of course complicated by the fact that I am no longer in contact with any of my previous (10 years back) Witness associates.

Hi there, whoever you are. I used to be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses but got drawn by the world. It’s been 4 years now. Anyway, I almost cried in delight when the search engine gave me this site when I typed “examining the scriptures.” Thank you for the effort to put up something like this, tho I know it’s not an official site. I have a friend within the organization, who is sending me the daily text since I guess, a month ago. But it’s in the local language. I wanted to print today’s text both in local and English and put it in my locker door.

I gave my daily text to a sister that was in the hospital, and until I'm able to get another I'll have it on the www. I looked for it on the official site and the media site to no avail. thanks again.

I've been forwarding them and the bible reading to my son and a few friends at their jobsites. First I just want to say thank you for providing this resource, I find it great for reviewing the text throughout the day. One thing I think would be great is links from the cited scriptures to the online version of the NWT. For example, the memorial readings today would look like http://www.watchtower.org/e/bible/mt/chapter_021.htm#bk1 and http://www.watchtower.org/e/bible/mt/chapter_021.htm#bk14 . And the memorial would be a great time to introduce a new feature like that.
Tracking down the links is easy, just goto http://www.watchtower.org/e/bible/index.htm , select the book, chapter and verse, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the no frames picture. Cut and paste the URL from this new page and thats it.
