It’s the final countdown. We’re almost there!

We spent the weekend packaging up samples, prepping cards to hang on the booth walls, and going over (and over and over) our packing list.

Last night, we put together a bunch of press kits for the show and made little packages for our booth giveaway!

We leave for NYC early Friday morning, so we’ll be packing everything up, running last minute errands, and doing lots of laundry until then. Wish us lots of luck! If we think of it, we’ll check back in here before we go. Otherwise, find us on facebook, instagram, and maybe even twitter.

We leave for the show 1 week from Friday. That’s so soon! We’ve been busy prepping product, ordering decals for the walls, making decorations, and checking things off of our to do lists. On Monday we sent a whole bunch of postcards to retail stores across the country to let them know we’ll be at the show and asking them to visit our booth. We also sent a few media kits to customers, bloggers, and editors that we are hoping to catch up with at the show.

We sent these little sample packets with catalogs, and I’m hoping they’re fun for the recipients to open. People in New England should have received theirs yesterday!

Happy May! It’s officially the month of the show, and things are getting a little frenzied around here. We have just over 2 weeks to finish everything up, so yikes!

Still on the to do list:

make & order decals for the booth walls
make product stickers for the products that will be displayed
put together press kits
mail postcards to prospective buyers to let them know we’ll be at the show in BOOTH 2044!
package up the booth giveaway for people who visit us
make a list of things to pack so that we don’t leave anything important behind (like the baby’s pacifier!)
and lots of other stuff, but I won’t bore you with the details

It goes on for 3 pages! But things are getting crossed off, so phew!

countdown to nss 2013: 22 days

Last week was tough for Boston and the surrounding cities and towns. It was emotionally draining, and I didn’t get much work done. Instead, I spent time snuggling with Wes and helping out at my husband’s print shop (did you know he’s my printer?). It was important for me to step away from work to gather my thoughts.

This week is quite different. Wes and I have been in Western Massachusetts since Wednesday, and I’ve been working from my parents’ house. I’ve got the ironing board set up as a makeshift desk, and it’s actually sort of perfect for my work style. I’m finalizing the packing for some new products, comparing strings for new gift tags, playing with Wes, and chatting with my mom. Earlier this week I finalized my booth layout and ordered the last of the accessories. From now on it’s full steam ahead.

We’re at the printer’s proofing our catalog!

We still have a few tweaks to make it ready for the show, but we’re loving it!

We designed the lobster bibs that are at each place setting.

countdown to nss 2013: 45 days

The days are flying by. It’s already the 3rd (aside: Wes is 12 weeks old today!), and there’s still a lot to figure out. But I’m definitely making progress. This week I’m finalizing the catalog so I can get a proof next week.

It’s fun to add the new products! It’s a visual reminder of just how much I’ve created in the past few month. Woo hoo!

countdown to nss 2013: 50 days

I got the proofs last night. I love seeing my designs printed; it’s exciting every time!

Now I’m reviewing them for spelling errors, color correction, and cropping. There are a few that I’m on the fence about. I’ll either ditch them or re-work those designs to include them. But overall, I’m quite pleased!

Now let me get out my dictionary and my magnifying glass – gotta catch those mistakes!
