Sometimes it’s just easier to cut out some paper and move it around.

behind the design: priming the booth walls

I’ve started priming the walls of my booth for the National Stationery Show. It starts one month from today. Yikes.

You guys, this is really happening! Everything is coming together. I’m excited and nervous and my to-do lists are crazy but somehow manageable at the same time. Know what I mean?

Wish me luck! I’ll keep sharing prep photos if I remember to take them.

itty bitty change

Yesterday I updated the Everything Little Miss favicon. In case you don’t know what that is, here’s a little diagram with all of the favicons circled:

I’ve been meaning to make that little change for a looooooong time, and yesterday, BAM, just did it. It’s a little change, but I think it’s an improvement. Below, you can see the old one on the left and the new one on the right.

See? It’s an itty bitty change!

behind the design: looking for backdrops

Over the weekend, I made a quick stop at a fabric store in search of a backdrop to use for product photos.

I picked up two neutral fabrics, but I snapped photos of some spunkier choices just because they were fun!

Holy cow! It’s April already, and that means I’m headed to the National Stationery Show next month! These past few weeks, I’ve been finalizing designs, approving proofs, updating my catalog, and planning my booth setup. Right now, I’m thinking about the best way to light the booth. I’ve got all of this great stuff, and I want people to see it, so lighting is very important. Here are some options I’ve been mulling over:

This video of ballet dancers in super slow mo is really beautiful, and it’s what’s inspiring me today. It’s sort of amazing what the human body is capable of, don’t you think?

Also, notice how many people are listed in the credits of even something as short as this. Wow.
