There is nothing like the sense of excitement and newness (yes, it is a word, I checked!) that a new year brings. It is also a time to look back on the past year and think about how to make the coming year, bigger and better! I want to say thank you to all the vendors, venues, clients and their families, that I have had the opportunity to work with this year. All of you have further confirmed that I still have the best job ever!

Look for exciting news and changes for Signature Soirees in the New Year. Mark your calendars to meet my right hand woman, Jessyn and I at the Today's Bride Bridal Show on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the I-X Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Doors open at 10:00am. Admission is $10.00, but if you contact me by January 10, 2010, you can get free tickets!

Although the signs says "Just For Kids," we had to keep the adults away from the candy buffet. By the end of the night all the buckets were gone and so was the candy! Thanks to Leigh C. for setting this up so perfectly!

In keeping with the kissing dove theme of the wedding, this ice sculpture from Elegant Ice fit the bill!

I just wanted to show more of the little details including the table numbers incorporating the kissing doves and the centerpieces which were all created by Signature Soirees.

Thank you goes out to DJ Steph Floss for keeping the happy couple and guests on their feet all night! Hugs out to my right hand, Jessyn B. and our awesome staff that night. It was a lot of work but we pulled it off!

Real Wedding - Ebony and Jason Part 1

I had the great pleasure of working with Ebony and Jason on their Chocolate Brown and Tiffany Blue wedding reception on November 7, 2009. I was so excited about the beautiful decor plans for this event that I even ditched my trusty iPhone camera and brought out my real digital camera!

The Slovenian National Home in Cleveland, Ohio provided a unique setting for the luxurious linens provided by my friends at L'Nique.

I used the Champagne Petite Petals from Flyboy Naturals to "sweeten" up the sweetheart table.

The beautiful cake by Flour Girl. Kudos to Bridget for making such a wonderful cake with a 2 week old baby at home! You rock!

I'm always up for a great slice of cake. Since I've gotten into event planning, one of my favorite parts of the event is the cake. Over the years, cakes have become the co-star of the event. Not only are they a decadent treat, but they are also a way to show the personality of the guests of honor. I wanted to show some of the more interesting cakes that I've seen lately.

This was the cake from Kanye West's 30th birthday party and shows his love for shoes.

This was just wow! I just want to know how did they cut this cake without it falling all over the place? Great attention to detail on the part of the baker.

Fabulous Food Show Comes to Cleveland

Food and wine! Two of my all time favorite things all in one place?!! You know that I will be there with bells on! Seriously though, the Fabulous Food Show returns to Cleveland next week, November 13-15 at the IX Center. Celeb chefs, Sandra Lee, Tyler Florence and Bobby Flay will be in attendance, along with Cleveland's own Michael Symon.

Why should you be there? If you are planning a wedding, bar mitzvah or class reunion, a food show is a great place to find out the latest trends in the food world. Tired of the same old chicken breast with the mystery sauce on top that is at almost every event you attend? Find out what else is out there.
