Come to Paklenica in the middle of the Croatian region and experience the pleasures of rock climbing here. One of the best rock climbing areas, this is a land that has the most mesmerizing beauty and the natural ambience here is seen to be believed. The rock climbing is very different and starts from a single pitch sports route. Then it progresses to a big wall rock climbing experience . The routes here go up to around 350 metres long and cater to beginners and also the most experienced. The routes here are made of limestone rock out of which the major routes are bolted.

With more than 170 sports routes here that are mainly situated in the entry point to the park. This is just a few minutes walk from the park. The remaining routes in this region of Paklenica are a mixture of bolted routes to trade routes. These require placing the cams and the nuts. The Anica Kuk face has some great multi pitch climbing that go up to a length of around 350 m.

Paklenica is approached from the towns of Starigrad Paklenica and these are around 46 km from the town of Zadar. The national park is located off the road. It is needed that the climbers purchase a pass for climbing that is available at the reception. This is a five day pass and allows the tourists to climb within the allotted routes. With more than 340 routes to choose from it is a pleasure to be in this part of the world.

Paklenica in Croatia is best visited in the months from April to late October. The windy weather and the wet climate here allows the tourist to enjoy the pleasures of being in this region. There is lot of shade found here and the sports climbing area here is a great thrill.

The International Speed Climbing competition is held here in the month of April. Paklenica National Park is the most attractive place in this part of Croatia and is very popular amongst tourists. The presence of the seawater nearby gives a special kind of charm to this place. The region of Paklenica has a great history of Alpinism and it goes back to the time of 1938, when Dragutin Brahm tried to climb the mighty Anica Kuk.

It is sad that he died while trying but then two years later Slavko and Marijan completed the entire route. Croatian climbers climbed almost all the routes here and these are established popular routes in this part of Croatia thus forming a great travel experience for all who come here.

So come spring and the climbers get ready with their gears and start climbing. The helmet is very unpopular among these sporty enthusiasts and there is a chance of having an injury on the head so it is imperative to wear the helmet. Also make sure you have the right equipment ready to climb up. Also if you have all the required techniques handy then all kinds of accidents and other such situations can be avoided.

The Paklenica region is an area filled with the greatest travel ecstasies. Tourists and adventure enthusiasts have the pleasures of being in a land filled with the greatest delights . Come here and bask in the pleasures of being in a land of absolutely enchanting delights.

Trondheim is one of northern Norway’s most exciting destinations. The vibrant city was once the capital of the country for more than three hundred years. The city was established by King Olaf in the 10th Century. The medieval buildings of the city bear testimony to the history of the city.

The city is now a university city with a huge number of ancient timber houses and superb options for entertainment. The historic city center is inked to the mainland by a number of bridges. The most ancient part of Trondheim is situated on a tiny island situated on the tip of a fjord.

Things to do in Trondheim . . .

Let us have a look at the various things to do in Trondheim

The Cathedral or the Nidaros Domkirke is the most notable attraction here. The cathedral was built in 1070. The Norwegian Kings were buried in the cathedral in the medieval era. It is a notable destination for pilgrims. It was here that Haakon VII was coroneted, and this was when the modern day Norway was born.

The church is a magnificent structure that is a marvel of Gothic architecture. It was burnt down several times, but has been rebuilt in Gothic style every single time. There are a huge number of elements left from the original structure from the 11th century.

The west façade of the church is simply splendid, with sculptures of the saints and kings of Norway. The cathedral also has the bejeweled tomb of St Olaf. The arches and columns where the nave and the chancel meet is another beautiful location. There is a beautiful rose window here as well.

The National Museum of decorative Arts is home to numerous works of art from Scandinavian artists from the 16 t h to 20 t h century. There are examples of of the French art Nouveau from the Paris World Fair of 1900, and the British Arts and Crafts movement, as well as arts, furniture, ceramics, jewelry and crafts. There are numerous examples of Scandinavian design, which has seen much success and popularity all over the world.

The Ringve Museum is suitable if you are a music lover. The eighteenth century barn and manor house that houses the museum is located on the Lade Peninsula. The museum has an impressive collection of folk and antique musical instruments, such as clavichords, harpsichords and more.

The Sverresborg Trondelag Folk Museum is another excellent visit, with close to sixty historical structures from the whole of Norway. There are ancient carriages here, plus old coaches, and more.

Often we do not realize that the simplest of experiences give the best of memories. Make your travel experience special and memorable by visiting places that you would always cherish. Come to the land of Albania and see the difference. This place is a historical proof to the existence of the best kind of city ever. While in Albania visit Berat the Museum city. This city is thronged by tourists just to see its architectural elegance. Called the City of the thousand windows, Berat has been existing for more than 2,400 years. This fantastic city is a place which is rich with culture and tradition and is situated in the southern part of the Albanian region. This is situated near the Mountain Tomorri. The panoramic view of Berat from Mount Tomorri is one of the spectacular aspects here. The Byzantine churches here date back to the 13th century. With the most amazing kind of architecture the city of Berat certainly is a unique place and is surely a tourist hub.

Berat has white houses dotting the place, with a special architectural style that is seen only here. In some areas of Berat the streets are made of paved stone and it is an exciting experience to walk along them. The entire city seems to dance in the glory of the past and bask in the beauty of the blessings of Mother Nature.

Located in the south central part of Albania, Berat was included as a World Heritage site in the year 2008. Today it is the capital of the Berat District and the larger Berat County. Berat has been witness to many historical activities and is today replete with such tales from the past. Berat derives its name from the older name Belgrad which means the “White city” in the Serb language. The Greek, Slavic and the Latin documents too mention this place as Belgrad. Also known as Bellegrada in Greek, Berat was a great Macedonian power.

Lying on the banks of River Osum, today this city is a little away from the meeting point of River Osum and River Molisht. These rivers have carved out beautiful gorges of limestone rock which today form boundaries like a natural fort. Berat has been built over such river terraces.

There is a story behind the two mountains and River Osum. People in Berat regard all the three with a lot of respect. Legend has it that Tomorr and Shpirag were two giants who fought over a beautiful lady. They killed each other in the process. The girl was upset and eventually got drowned in her tears. It is believed that these tears formed what we see as River Osum today. The two giants became Mount Tomorr and Mount Shpirag. We have the Mount Shpirag lying in the district of Gorica.

Berat has been a great historical place since the 18th century. See the Berat castle here and enjoy the panoramic view of the city from here. The main entrance to the castle lies in the northern side. There is a fortified courtyard here which acted as the defence area of the fort. There are three more entrances to the fort. The fort has buildings constructed during the 13th century. In those days the fort was dominated by Christians. There are around 20 churches and one single mosque inside the fort. The mosque was a place of worship for the Muslim soldiers.

Come to this land of absolutely enchanting delights and greatest pleasures. Come to the beautiful country of Czech Republic. With the most delightful sights and the most pleasurable places to visit, this is one place that would never cease to intrigue you. Czech Republic with its utmost travel pleasures is a great place to be in, in this part of the world. As you weave your way through this place it is a great feeling to be here, in the region of Wenceslas Square which is a lovely sightseeing attraction and provides a beautiful experience in this part of the world.

Wenceslas Square is a majestic square that has the capacity to hold at least 40,000 people. They had a lot of demonstrations in the square against the communist government here. Today this place which is the famous Wenceslas Square was earlier a horse market of the middle Ages.

There is a beautiful equestrian statue of St. Wenceslas. He was the patron saint of Bohemia and was also the good king. He was given the position of King only after he died in the year 935 AD. During his entire life, he was the Bohemian Duke and was called the Duke of Bohemia. He brought Christianity in the land of the Czechs and was revered as the saint. Legend has it that his brother murdered him. There is a magnificent building behind this stature. This is the National Museum in Czech Republic.

The Wenceslas Square is located in Old town at the edge of the town. Here shopaholics would surely go berserk as there are lot of places for a decent shopping experience in the square. There are some fascinating bookstores and some interesting sights. The Wenceslas Square today is thus a greatly fascinating land of pleasurable delights and gives the best feeling of being in an intellectually inclined land. The crowds here are of myriad culture, and various origin but the common thread of tourism binds them.

This is one of the main city squares and is the hub of business and also cultural communities in the Prague region. Many events dating back to past history have occurred here and this is a traditional place for celebrations, demonstrations, and many other public gatherings. It is a World Heritage site today and is the main historic centre in the lovely ambience of Prague.

It was earlier known as Konsky trh or the Horse Market and today is called the Svatovacalvske namesti or the Saint Wenceslas Square. It was proposed to be named so by Karel Havlicek BOrovsky in the year 1848.

It is more of a square and not exactly a boulevard. It has a very long shape and is a rectangle and faces northwest and southeast direction. The street goes up to the southeastern side. The lovely sight of the Czech National Museum at the end of the street is what enchants the tourist totally.

In the year 1348, Bohemian King Charles IV founded the present day Prague town. He planned to have many markets opened and the Konsky trh market was the biggest. Meaning the horse market, the konsky trh had the Horse gate at the southeastern end and was witness to many events in the past. It was used by the Nazis for demonstrations, and many buildings that were destroyed then have been replaced today. It has seen Jan Palach a student immolating himself, and has also had around 150,000 people celebrating the year 1969, when USSR won the Ice Hockey World Championships. In 1989, there were lot of demonstrations during the Velvet Revolution.

With many offices, currency exchange booths, retail stores, hotels and many fast food restaurants bordering the Wenceslas Square it is indeed a landmark in the tours in Czech Republic.

With the Matej Blecha’s Palace, the Antonin Pfeiffer, the Koruna buildings forming the main architectural delights here, the Ludvik Kysela’s Lindt Building is also popular here in the Wenceslas Square.

Come to Czech Republic and enjoy the pleasures of being in a beautiful land in Europe. Come and experience the beautiful joys of being in a medieval settlement in the region of Prague. There was a semi circular wall and moat which separated it from the outer portion, and then connected to the Vltava in both its ends. Today the moat is covered by the streets from south west to north and it is the official boundary of the district of Cadastral in Old town. Today it is in Praha. When the city expanded sometime in the 14th century, the wall and the moat were destroyed off. It was Charles IV who expanded the city in the 14th century.

The Old new Synagogue and the Astronomical Clock, Old town Square are some of the important places in the Old Town. The Lesser Quarter is found across the River Vltava and this area is called the Mala Strana in Czech. The Charles Bridge connects the two ends of the town. Josefov is situated in the northwestern corner of the Old Town.

Krumau is a very small city in the South Bohemian Region of the country of Czech Republic which is very famous for the art and architecture of the old town. Also the Cesky Krumlov Castle si found here. The Old Cesky Krumlov is a World Heritage Site and is a UNESCO site. The Prague castle district is also a World Heritage site.

Cesky Krumlov is a city that is used to differentiate it from the Moravsky Krumlov which is in the southeastern part of the country. Today the Old Town Hall is a small portion lying in the beautiful collection of buildings that are constructed on the foundations of Romanesque constructions. It was reconstructed from the 13th centuries to the middle of the 20th centuries. The entire hall was constructed in the year 1338 and is a major symbol of the autonomy of the town.

The people of the Old town got the Wolfilin House which lay on the corner of the square and is a major foundation of the town hall. There were other parts that were attached to the building and there were more new buildings that were modified and also purchased. Then sometime in the middle of the 14th century, there was a 70 metre tall tower that was built. Then there was an astrological clock that was added and also a statue of Madonna which was placed in the corner of the 1380s. Thus the town hall’s oriel chapel was consecrated.

The town hall was totally expanded in the 15th century and it was rebuilt in the Gothic style Then later it was linked to the Burgher’s House of the Furrier Mikes and also the Empire House at Cock.

Then there is the Old Town Hall. It southern end terminates at the Renaissance House. There is a façade that is decorated with a lot of ornamental graffito. It is said that Franz Kafka’s family used to inhabit on the second floor of the big building. They lived here from 1889 to 1896. Sometime in the 19th century there was an eastern wing that is built in Neo Gothic style. This was added to the main hall. It was destroyed towards the time the Second World War got over. This is opened to the tourists on all Mondays from 11 in the morning to 6 in the evening. On Tuesdays and Sundays it is from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening. The opening hours are sometimes restricted only to the needs of the Mayors. There are guided tours that cover the entire Gothic and Romanesque cellars and also he chapel made of Gothic kind. Then there are beautiful historic halls. The tower can be reached by an elevator which gives a great view of the city. Lobkowicz Palace is today a museum for the tourists and has the best displays of all the exhibits. The audio tour takes visitors around the museum.

The museum shows the Czech history and has its people and the culture being displayed by the family possessions. There are many exhibits that are on display and these works of art belong to the 12th to the 20th century. There are musical instruments, gun collection and also rare manuscripts of Beethoven and Mozart found here.

With many more to see, Bohemia is surely a fascinating place to be in.

Visit Stonehenge in tours in England and you would find yourself ensconced in the fascinations of a land that is greatly a prehistoric site and has been constructed sometime in 3100 BC. It is not known exactly why it was built but is said to have been a venue for pagan worship.

The English Heritage manages the site and the stone circle is not accessed during the normal timings. There are regular Stone Circle Access visits that are organized in the late evenings and early mornings.

Stonehenge is a prehistoric construction and is situated in the Wiltshire country around 2 miles to the west of Amesbury and around 8 miles to the north of the region of Salisbury. Stonehenge is today one of the famous sites in the world and has a circular arrangement of standing stones and is made of a lot of earthworks. It is in the middle of a vast complex of Bronze and Neolithic monuments and includes a lot of burial mounds too.

There are archaeologists who believe that this iconic stone monument was built sometime from 3000 BC to 2000 BC a. There are radiocarbon dating to around 2008 which show that the initial stones were built sometime in 2400 BC to 2200 BC. There is another theory which shows that bluestones might have been built in the site as early as around 3000 BC.

There is an earth bank which is circular and surrounds this place and it has the earliest stage of the monument and dates back to around 3100 BC. This has been included as a UNESCO World Heritage site in the year 1986 and has been listed alongwith the Avebury Henge Monument. This is a legally protected Scheduled Ancient Monument. Stonehenge is owned by the Crown and the national Trust holds the surrounding land.

There is a lot of archaeological evidence that is found by the Stonehenge Riverside Project that shows the history that exited here in the past. There are deposits containing human bone material from as early as 3000 BC. This is when it is believed that the earth bank and the ditch were dug initially. It is seen that these deposits continued here for another 500 years. Henge means a precipice and stanenges or Stanheg are supported stones. Today pendulous rocks are called henges in the region of Yorkshire.

Stonehenge means the hanging stones. There is also a theory which says that Stan means stone and hencg means hinge or hang or even gallows. It is the henge that has given the name to this famous monument. Actually there is a class of monument called henges. Henges in archaeology mean the earthworks that are made of a circular enclosure and have an internal ditch. So Stonehenge is not actually a henge site and the bank is found within the ditch. It is contemporary with true Neolithic henges and also stone circles. Stonehenge is around 24 ft tall and has traditions which support the lintels holding them in place with tenon joints and mortise and thus make it a very special structure.

There is the Heel Stone which lies just outside the main entry point to the henge and is a rough stone that is around 16 feet above the ground and is found leaning inwards towards this circle. This has had many names attached to it and the Friars heel is one of them apart from the Sunstone. Today this is known as the Heelstone or the Heel Stone. If you stand in Stonehenge and face north east towards the entry of the heel stone, then you can see the sun rising above the stone during summer solstice.

There is also a folk tale that goes back to the 17th century and it is related to the origin of the Friar Heel. It is said that the devil bought the stones from an Irish woman and packed them and brought to this plain in Salisbury. One of the stones fell in Avon and the remaining were taken to the plain. The Devil said that no one would know how the stones came here. The friar challenged him that people would know to which the devil struck a stone on the heel of the Friar and the stone stuck and is believed to be still there.

The Stonehenge monument is worth a traveller’s quest to see something unique in England.
