Some of you may remember from this post, where i acquired a set of 5 E30 DTM single lug / mono lug / center lock wheels last year in April. Today, i finally collected them from the shop. They have been sandblasted and refurbished back to their glory days. I decided to have them finished in racing white.

This is how these babies would look when mounted! I was intending to mount them on my E34 just for fun if I could find the locsking hubs for the wheels. Which can be purchased from sites like these – Racecarsdirect.com M3 E30 Center Lock HUBS BBS. But looking at them now, it’ll be a great addition to my still, WIP E30.

Found a set of an almost-new Whiteline front 27mm anti roll bar on the bmw-sg forums and I had to have it. Whiteline don’t make them anymore for the E34 since 2008. I also missed my purchase during my trip to Sydney some years ago. I have been looking for a proper adjustable ARB for a long time now after having experienced the ride in a friends’ car.  This piece i found was so new, it was merely test-installed, it was then left in storage for a couple of years.

Most of the stock bars for the BMW E34 are about 22MM. I removed my 750il bar and was surprised they were marginally bigger than the 540i’s bar at 24mm. (it’s for sale too -with powerflex PU bushes -i’ll take a pic soon)

Even the 750iL bar itself was fantastic at the bends. but nothing compares to this..

I had a friend install the bar for me and had it set to max-hard

A quick impression of the Whiteline upgrade? The front seems even more planted now with both front struts working better together. Even cruising in a straight line made significant difference on less than perfect road surfaces. It seems to compliment the heavier V12 very well.

In short, it’s so much better in all-aspects. The front feels lighter now and it turns so much more precisely like what a performance car feels like.

Here are some pictures of the E34 at the recent Time To Attack Event. It being part of Zerotohundred.com’s 10th Anniversary, also signifies my 10th year with the car as well. Recent changes include freshly painted wheels. Finally.

With less than satisfactory updates for the past few weeks, here are some better pictures. The recent nose and paint job did wonders in cleaning up the face as well as the body. The AC Schnitzer replica bodykit was never gloss painted until now. Ever since i put it on the last 7,8 years, it stayed flat black to disguise the waves in the finish.  Something i can never tolerate.

There are still waviness here and there but i am just happy it’s looking better than ever. – Clean. Also, the 3000K front fog bulbs have been installed since its purchase in 2008 from Autobacs in Tokyo.

Other updates includes the 15mm rear wheel spacers to compliment the 19X9.5 Shnitzers. These things really changes the fact from just a set of good looking wheels to a menacing flushed arch stance.

That is it for now. I will also be sending the car in for a full detailing job. So stay tuned for more photos.

Here’s a picture after a much needed wash collecting it from the workshop for an Alternator fix. I will also post more pictures of the rear spacer addition. Since the 19X9.5 Type 2 came, the spacer that used to be on, which was probably a 30mm had to be removed.

Now the rears are pretty flushed with a 15mm. You can probably notice despite the lousy picture.

Nothing much but a workshop update, Got the rear passenger door locking gun replaced, something called the headlight module replaced due to a faulty one which melted through the plastic.

What’s new on the E34 for 2010? A new nose, a new windscreen, lighter window tints. Here’s are just 2 simple shots from the phone. The Canon will be unavailable for a while.

Back from the painted wide grille mod and bumper repair and paint touch ups, the car was sent to have its long-overdue windscreen replaced. If you drive an old car with an old windscreen, you’d know how pathetic pitted, scratched up, dirty old windscreens can be. I always had the urge to replace but there were always another priority. Now that i’ve fulfilled  most of the checklist, it’s time.

The windscreen replacement was pretty affordable. I opted for Malaysian made OEM glass and everything including labour came up to RM550. This is also because i chose not to replace the rubber mouldings which costs about a grand to replace.
