&lt;p&gt;Abstract: The Community Education Mental Health Specialist responds to requests from community members for information regarding mental health services and advocacy. The Community Education Mental Health Specialist requires a deep&amp;nbsp; understanding of mental health, mental illness and suicide prevention; demonstrated experience in public speaking and group facilitation; practical knowledge of strategies for promoting mental health; a thorough knowledge of the mental health system and available regional resources; and working knowledge of public education, health promotion and media relations. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Qualifications: relevant degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of 2 years experience working with the public/as a facilitator/presenter; demonstrated knowledge of mental health/illness and suicide prevention; working knowledge of planning, developing, co-ordinating, implementing and evaluating community education programs; demonstrated expertise in public speaking and group facilitation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;PLUS: Knowledge of adult learning principles; skill in working with junior and senior high school students, community/professional groups; experience in the non-profit sector; Knowledge of local and provincial mental health agencies and systems; excellent computer skills; experience working with print &amp;amp; broadcast media; ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends; regular access to a reliable vehicle; professional registration as applicable.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The petition states:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We, the undersigned residents of Alberta, petition the Legislative Assembly to&lt;br /&gt;
1.&amp;nbsp;Pass legislation that will implement the Rent Stability Guideline recommended by&amp;nbsp; the report of the Affordable Housing Task Force of 2007, to be in place for two years and keep rent increases to not more than the rate of the Consumer Price Index plus two percent, unless a building with major renovations is involved; and&lt;br /&gt;
2.&amp;nbsp;Urge the Government to develop a comprehensive integrated provincial housing security plan with immediate and longer-term goals related to all aspects of the housing continuum from ending homelessness to home ownership; and&lt;br /&gt;
3.&amp;nbsp;Amend the Municipal Government Act to clearly permit municipal governments to enact inclusionary zoning policies; and&lt;br /&gt;
4.&amp;nbsp;Urge the Government to increase funding for social housing, to be dedicated to capital construction, operating costs, and human services supports, by not less than an additional $500 million per year over the expenditures in this area during the 2007/2008 fiscal year, for at least ten years.&lt;br /&gt;
