Some of the key points that I’ve gotten form the book are what the Authors call The Social Media Bible 10 Commandments:

1.	Thou Shalt Blog (like crazy).
2.	Thou Shalt Create Profiles (everywhere).
3.	Thou Shalt Upload Photos (lots of them).
4.	Thou Shalt Upload Videos (all you can find).
5.	Thou Shalt Podcast (often).
6.	Thou Shalt Set Alerts (immediately)
7.	Thou Shalt Comment (on a multitude of Blogs).
8.	Thou Shalt Get Connected (with everyone)
9.	Thou Shalt Explore Social Media (30 minutes per week).
10.	Thou Shalt Be Creative (go forth and create creatively)!

By following these key points of Social Media, also referred to as Web 2.0, the Authors say that it’s possible to accomplish three of the most important goals in business:

1.	Increase your revenues.
2.	Improve your profitability.
3.	Ensure that you remain relevant, competitive, and alive in your industry.

Business cards represent a professional, yet inexpensive way to promote and market your business.

Here are some creative ways to use your business cards:

Keeping Them Handy

Always have your cards available (in your car, your pocket, your briefcase, your purse or wallet, your planner, at home – anywhere you can think of)… you never know when you may need them.

Give some of your cards to your spouse, family and friends … they may meet someone who might be interested in your business or service that you offer.

When To Use Them

Give them out everywhere! When you meet someone at lunch, a grocery store, gas station, in the library, on the bus, at the park, your Children’s soccer games, neighborhood block party, … everywhere!

Give out two cards at a time – one for the prospect or client and one for her/him to give away.

Set a goal to give out 5, 10, 15, 20, or more cards every day.

Unique Places To Put Them

Place some on the table when you leave a restaurant.

Include your business card in correspondence pieces such as letters, invoices, even your monthly bills.

Visit bookstores and place them in books related to your business. I call this Gorilla Marketing

Post them in gas stations, restrooms, on payphones, ATM machines, and gyms, magazines in waiting rooms, college campuses and grocery store bulletin boards.

The possibilities are unlimited!

Filling your sales funnel with quality leads and prospects is definitely an important part of making sales and growing your business, but not as important as you might think. Without a good system for tracking your contacts and helping you follow up with your leads, it doesn’t matter how many leads you have, because most of them will slip through the cracks and never go anywhere.

Personally I’d much rather have a few qualified leads and a killer follow up system, to ensure that as many of those leads as possible become customers or distributors.

Before you write your prospect list and certainly before you ever consider buying a lead, you should get a system set up where you can enter your leads names and track all the calls, appointments, and emails you have with your leads, as well schedule your follow up activities.

Lets face it, no matter how amazing your product, or how revolutionary your compensation plan, most people aren’t going to buy your product or sign up for your company the first time you talk to them. However, lots of people won’t give you a straight “no” right away either. That’s why it’s so important to create a follow up plan for your leads.

Ultimately you want to get either a “yes” or a “no” from each of your leads. For some people, that may take months and for others it may only take a few days. Having a plan for how you intend to follow up with your leads and a system to keep track of where everyone is in your plan will have a huge impact on the number of sales you make.

When looking for a good system to track your follow up with your leads, look for something that is easy to use and something that will allow you to automate some of your follow up to save you time. While there are several tools available that specialize in one thing like email, contact management or sending email to large lists of people, you will save a lot of money and time if you choose one system that can take care of lots of those things in one place.

Finally, at the end of the day you actually have to take action. Your system should be simple and easy to use, and prompt you to take action. Find something that works, and make sure to consistently and continually follow-up. As they say, ‘The fortune is in the follow-up.’

I just saw Mike Klingler on this amazing video and I urge you to view it right away.

Mike, in case you didn’t know, is Ann Sieg’s partner in the new Renegade Professional marketing training site.

Here’s why I’m excited about this video:

It shows you how to leave every other marketing method in the dust!

Every other method, that is, besides what Mike calls “social marketing.” Using sites like YouTube, Squidoo and Facebook to attract hot, interested leads who are ready to spend money—with you!

And Mike shows you how to do this so much more easily than you ever imagined.

In fact, he even reveals 18 different free sites he uses to get over 6,300 visitors to just 1 of his websites every week—without spending a dime on advertising!

18 ways to get free leads

You know how everyone is always trying to get in on the ground floor with new MLM opportunities, so they can cash in big-time?

Well, the same is true right now (and for the next year or so) with social marketing!

Mike proves this convincingly with statistic after statistic. (Don’t worry; these numbers are VERY easy to understand!)

And he shows how you can still enjoy a “first mover’s advantage” by getting started in social marketing now (ahead of the crowd).

Did you know, for instance, which website 2/3 of all people online visit? (And if you think I’m talking about Google, you’re wrong.) Very few people are taking full MARKETING advantage of this major site.

But speaking of Google, if you know how to use social marketing sites, you stand a better chance to show up in the top position of the free Google search results page (on the left side).

That’s huge!

Many businesses spend big bucks to get that spot on Google’s first page. Mike tells you on the video how people like you do it everyday for free.

So as you can see, this video is pure gold. Mike and Ann Sieg are giving it away, and I promise you it is well worth your time to watch it.

Here’s the link to watch the video:

(Oh, and you don’t even have to give your name or email address to watch it.)

18 ways to get free leads

One other thing: Mike also talks about where to find the prospects that have the most money to spend.

Specifically, he tells you where to find prospects who make 20% MORE than the average household and SPEND 25% more than the average person.

This is crucial information if you want your business to thrive right now in this economy.

Go here to watch it right now:

Online Real Estate

There’s a ton of information (AND misinformation) to sift and sort through online, but usually you have to pay for the really good stuff.

Well, Ann Sieg and Mike Klingler are bucking this trend.

They’ve just released ANOTHER free video and this time it’s over 90 minutes of actual training from inside their new program, Renegade Professional.

I have to tell you, I’ve purchased a lot of different online training courses before.

Some of them are good; some of them are bad.

But NONE of them have even come close to the level of detail in these videos (there’s actually two of them).

I encourage you to go watch both of them, follow along and actually DO what they’re teaching you. Right now, today.

The strategies they’ll be sharing with you don’t cost anything to implement.

If you haven’t gotten started yet online, that will all change by the time you’re done with these videos.

You will have actually setup your first REAL marketing piece on the internet and will be in the process of generating leads and earning money.

And if you’ve tried tons of online systems in the past and have never made a dime, you’ll understand exactly why after you watch the videos (as well as what to do differently).

Mike walks you through the process—one click at a time—of how to start promoting your own products and opportunity right away… not someone else’s system.

(There isn’t anything for sale on this website and you could actually be getting calls from legitimate prospects about your business as soon as tomorrow by watching this.)

He also shows you how to do it for different industries like health & wellness, legal services, and others (not to mention specific network marketing company examples).

And both videos are totally free, so there’s no reason not to check them out:

Online Real Estate

Go check out these free videos, follow along, and you’ll be able to generate sales and leads for months and even years to come…

All from a few minutes worth of work today.

Mike calls this creating “online real estate” and you’ll understand why once you try it for yourselef

Lately, I’ve had two of my favorite subjects, food and money, on my mind. Since the economy has slowed down, I have less of both. Don’t get me wrong—I’m not starving or losing my house. As a matter of fact, I have enough fat to hibernate for the winter but that is another subject.

Since my wife enjoys cooking, I really don’t have to worry about the food part that much. Our real problem is that we both like to explore the local restaurants in town. Since we have less disposable income, we don’t go out to eat as much as we used to. Not fun.

We went online to solve our problem and I think we found it. It’s a website called Restaurant.com. They offer $25 gift certificates for $10. And if you’re lucky enough to find a discount code you can get that $25 gift certificate for 2 to 5 bucks. Not bad…

The site is fairly simple.

Go to Restaurant.com and enter your Zip Code or State.

Pick the Restaurant that you would like to eat at.

Pay with your credit or debit card then print the coupon.

Oh yeah, don’t forget to take it with you : )

The bad thing about the site is that it is fairly new and your favorite restaurant may not be participating in the program yet. The other thing I dislike is that most of the restaurants usually have a higher minimum order and gratuity. I guess you can’t have it all…

Overall, Restaurant.com saves my wife and I money and we still get to enjoy eating out once in awhile : )
