He has been travelling the world over the last few years performing as the opening act for Richie Spice in places such as England, America, the Caribbean and Bermuda.

He has also scored a number one hit a few years ago with a collaboration done in tandem with Richie Spice titled Living Aint Easy.

Snatcha has been relatively quiet as far as recording side of his career is concerned for while now. However things have began to change since the release of his latest single No War a month ago.

He is currently enjoying good rotation on radio stations both locally and abroad with this single. A spokes person from Bonner Cornerstone Music said that the company is very happy with the response that No More War is receiving and plans to step up the promotion of the single.

He also said that they company will be shooting a music video for No More War before the end of November.

Snatcha is confirmed to appear on this year’s staging of West Kingston Jamboree.

His management team is also currently engaged in negotiations with several promoters who are interested in booking him for events which will be held during the upcoming holiday season.

The accompanying music video for The Pill has also found its way on several charts. It has already hit the number position on CVM TV’s Hit List show’s Reggae Chart, where it is currently in the number five position. It is also number five on the RETV MVP Charts and number seven on Suzie Q’s Video Alley Reggae Top Ten Charts.

Junior X is currently in the studios working on his debut album which is slated to be released next year. He will be leaving the island at the end of the week for a three week promotional tour in the US which will see him doing several interviews and appearances in New York, Connecticut, Philadelphia and New Jersey.

he music video for Nuh Wuk Nuh Deh recently held the number one position for several weeks on TVJ’s Fi WI Choice Top Ten Chart Show and Suzie Q’s Video Alley Top Ten Show which is also aired on TVJ.

Ruffian is getting ready to drop two new singles Job Fi Find on the House Of Hits label and Enemy on the Sounie Record label.

Both singles will be released before the end of November in time for the upcoming holiday season. Ruffi-Ann says that a music video will be shot and released in support of Job Fi Find, in January.

She has also recorded songs for several other labels including Flava Squad, Fearless productions and Tenement Yard label.

After seven years of itching musically, Protoje thinks it’s time to make The Seven Year Wish; as one of his greatest desires is to see good music and good musicians prevail in these times by creating good music and filming it as well for posterity. Therefore he has decided to put his thoughts into actions by staging a special event dubbed The Seven Year Wish.

The Seven Year Wish will feature several of his closest friends and colleagues such as From the Deep, Jason Worton, Jah 9 and No-Maddz. All of these acts have consistently demonstrated quality stage presence on various events at venues across Kingston including Jamnesia, the Village Blues Bar and Christopher’s Café. The Seven Year Wish will also feature several special guest performers.

The Seven Year Wish will be held at Weekenz at 80 Constant Spring Road Kingston 8, on Saturday, December 4th. The event will be filmed for the purpose of producing an official DVD to complement Protoje’s upcoming album, The Seven Year Itch, which will be released in 2010.

Queen Ifrica at Negril Escape during the summer series

The first annual One Love Reggae Concert winter series will be launched at the Negril Escape resort on Wednesday November 11th at 12 PM. The One Love Reggae Concert winter series will feature several weekly concerts that will be staged at the Negril Escape. Each concert will be staged on a Tuesday starting from November 17th 2009 to the 2nd of March 2010.

There will be a total of sixteen concerts in the series. Each concert will be headlined by a top reggae act. Artists already confirmed for the series include Freddie McGregor, Sanchez, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Marcia Griffiths, Richie Spice, Luciano, Tarrus Riley, Etana, Queen Ifrica, Albarosie and Jah Cure. The shows will be opened by talented upcoming acts mainly from the Negril area and other parts of the island.

The promoters of the One Love Reggae series intend to use the events to enhance the local tourism product in the area of Negril, which was formerly known as the Westend, this area is now called the One Love Drive. The renaming of the area is a part of a rebranding initiative which is being spearheaded by the Negril Cluster.

It is hoped that with this rebranding along with the staging of events, such as the One Love Reggae Series Negril and its surrounding environs will see a boost in tourist arrivals throughout the upcoming winter tourism season.

Milestone Productions, agents for the characters were so impressed by the move to give these children a day for themselves that they too are willing to make a donation through Milestone Ministries.

“They are willing to look into helping to have more children than we were anticipating. This will be the largest joint corporate venture that has ever been done for any children’s home in Jamaica,” Shoucair pointed out.

Meanwhile, the call is out for patrons to make use of the limited pre-sold tickets that are available at the following outlets Copy Cat, Training Camp, Coco Jam, Young’s Pharmacy, May Pen, Mailbox MoBay, Broadway Surprise, Clock Tower Plaza, Rainbow Land and in some schools.

They are also encouraged to book their spaces early for the Garfield Live show as there will be limited seating available.

Former BOJ Governor Derick Latibeaudiere

The opposition Peoples National Party (PNP) is questioning the timing of the disclosure by the prime minister of the details of the contract of former Bank of Jamaica Governor, Derick Latibeaudiere.

Mr Latibeaudiere was dismissed on Friday, because of the terms of his contract, which the Government says were not acceptable.

Based on the terms of the contract, the former central bank governor was earning $38 million a year plus perks, which included $24 million in housing benefits.

On Tuesday in Parliament, Prime Minister Bruce Golding blamed the former finance minister, Dr Omar Davies, for sanctioning that agreement back in May 2007.

The Opposition Spokesman on Investment and Commerce, Senator Mark Golding, says the prime minister’s apparent surprise at the details of the Governor’s contract, is questionable.

According to Senator Golding, after two years in office, the details of the contract were not new information, recently discovered by the current Finance Minister or the Prime Minister.

He further notes that it would be a significant management failure if the current finance minister did not acquaint himself with the details of the contract of the central bank governor on taking office.

Senator Golding says the finance minister had two years to seek to re-negotiate those terms, prior to dismissing the Governor.
