Simply Adorned Charms & Chains

Too many times I've thought to myself I need some nice necklace to match this outfit- well, I finally bought the simply adorned charm (1" x 1 1/4") and the 34" chain (which can be worn doubled up). It's a locket style nickel & tempered glass, so you can insert custom artwork or photos! Now, I can create as many 'inserts' as need, in whatever colors I want to make a personalized accent! Best of all, I can (and have) created them 'on the fly' much to my husbands amusement- it takes 1-2 minutes to create these itty bitty little things! See page 189 for more details!!!

Punch Pals

Ok, this is just a bunch of silly punched characters that I created with my daughter- she thought they were adorable... I just had fun! They're made totally of scraps of cardstock and leftover techniques (I cat body is polished stone!) They're not perfect and they show touch of a four year old which makes em too cute!!

6 x 3 Early Espresso and Blushing Bride Card Set

I decided I needed to create some gift sets- a few matching cards and envelopes to have on hand when I need a quick gift! I rummaged though my pile of old stuff and found a couple pieces of nice Designer Series paper (6 x 6 size) which I used as my inspiration. I pulled out matching colors - Blushing Bride (new 2010 In color), Early Espresso (new 2010 core color, darker than chocolate chip), So Saffron (core color). A few punches and a bit of layering later, I had my four cards! What do you think? Anybody have an idea for a box or pouch to store them in (that doubles as wrapping paper?!). Let me know!

Looking for a way to have a fun girls night out, build up your supplies gradually and have a turn to get hostess benefits? Why not join us for a monthly Stamp Technique Club?!

What do you do?
Every month you will learn a new technique and create a couple great projects. Then there will be some time for you to work on your own project (cards, scrapbooks or whatever!). During that time, you are welcome to use all of my stamps, punches, big shot and more! Here is one of the cards from that we'll do in September. The technique is called Faux Wood- it just needs a greeting stamped in to finish it- I've got over 40 different ones to choose from!

What do you get?

Besides a great night out, when you join Stamp Club, you'll get the new 2010-2011 catalogue ($12 Value) and when it's your month to 'host', you'll get at least a free hostess level one stamp set and $20 in free product! If you schedule a workshop or get outside orders when it's your turn to host, you can earn even more free merchandise that month! Checkout what you could earn!

How does it work?
As a member of a group of six club, you agree to purchase $35 of product each month for a commitment period of six months. Each participant will get a chance to be the hostess, and collect the benefits for that month. If you can't attend, just email me your order by the club date.

Origami Flower & 3D Flower Ball

Baby Wipe Swipe Technique Card

This is the last of my technique samples- baby wipe swipe. Place drops of several color inks onto a baby wipe and swipe across glossy card stock. Re-use several times before re-inking!

Serigraph Technique Card

Technique Sample #3: Isn't this pretty? The technique is called Serigraph, one of my favorites:

Ink your brayer with the lightest (of 4) colors and roll over some parts of your white cardstock- leave white spaces! Repeat with next color, overlapping some parts. Wipe with embossing buddy, then stamp image with versmark, sprinkle on embossing powder and heat set. Brayer over some parts with 3rd color, repeat with last color. Stamp image in darkest color.

Just Believe Clean & Simple Card Sketch

This afternoon I browsed over to clean and simple sketches for a bit of inspiration. I love their designs- they are just exactly that, clean and simple!Here's the sketch FTL 102:

I opened up my new color coach and let it pick the color combination for me... here's where it opened!I didn't have buttons or accessories in those colors, so I made my own! Versamark a small strip of the cardstock and sprinkle on some clear embossing powder. Heat set and repeat once or twice more. Punch those shiny buttons out with the 1/2" circle punch, and add some realistic looking button holes with the 1/16th inch punch. Stamp Set: Just Believe

Unmounting double mounted stamps

One of my favorite stamps sets came double mounted- a perfect candidate for unmounting and making it into a cling mount stamp. Since there are no full size see-through labels (just the little ones that go on the edge of the wood). I made my own by stamping on a sheet of acetate with Staz-On ink.

After the images where all stamped, I slowly peeled the stamps off the wood blocks. If they were really sticky, I put them in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to soften the adhesive, then pulled them apart.Since the foam was still very sticky, I just placed the acetate stamped images on top and pressed it down well. Then trimmed the excess acetate with my scissors.

The last step was to make the top of the acetate a bit gummy so that it would stick to the acrylic block - just like the other time, I used a thin coating of tombow multipurpose glue. I set them aside for a few hours and voila, they're done!

Starry Night Background Technique

My second technique for the swap was called Starry Night- to be honest, I had never heard of this one before! It's described as 'Use a toothbrush to splatter embossing fluid on your cardstock and then emboss' So... what's embossing fluid? I tried using versamark refill, but that was so thick it just stuck to the toothbrush. I tried again by diluting it with some water until it very runny (sorry, I didn't really measure!) Basically, when I flicked my toothbrush, it splattered all over!

Cling Mounting new wood Mount Stamps

Clear mounting, Cling Mounting, Wood Mount- it's hard to keep it all straight! I have wanted to get the set 'Sincere Salutations' for about 4 years, and I keep putting it off thinking they would retire it. Well, it's in the new catalog, so I decided to finally get it. The only thing is, it's only wood mounted and I've really taken a likeing to cling mounting (that means the stamp is not see though itself, but it's temporarily adhered to a clear acrylic block so you can see exactly where it's going to be positioned). So... I did a bit of research and found what I hope is the best way to do it... I'll post other examples of unmounting already wood mounted stamps soon.

Step 1. Buy any wood mount stamp set in the catalogStep 2. Remove the beige backing sticker from the foam and position the clear label sticker directly on the sticky foam
Step 3. Trim around the clear plastic label with your favorite scissors.
Step 4. Cover the clear label sticker with a thin coat of Tombow glue and set aside somewhere for a few hours to dry. When this glue dries, it remains tacky- which gives your stamps just the right stick to cling to your acrylic blocks.

Step 5. I bought some of Stampin' Up!'s DVD cases (4 for $6.50) so they match my other ones!
Step 6. One of my demonstrator friends shared her already made DVD insert pdf for this set with me (she's might be offering this as a service soon- look out for it!
Step 7. Put it all together and you get this:

Crinkled Cardstock Technique

Pillow Box Thank You

These were the thank- you's I made for my open house last week- they're so simple... Pillow Boxes (made with the bigz die through the bigshot), two scallop circles cut open and folded accordian style and a thank you stamp in a 1 1/4 inch circle punch. What's inside? CHOCOLATE of course!!

Watercolor Trio Birthday Card

This card features two ripped edges- notice how the two edges match? This is done by lining the red and white pieces up and tearing through both layers at the same time. Then you just slide the red layer out a bit and adhere to the back. The Watercolor Trio flowers are colored with Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait Markers. A bit of two way glue and some dazzling diamonds and voila! This was our third project from my open house this last week. The card base is naturals white- a 40lb heavyweight cardstock which has just a bit of texture to it... a new favorite for me!

Teacher Thank You Gifts

I created some fun, useful gifts for my childrens teachers this year. Thanks Deb for this neat idea!

Here are the steps:

1. Stamp and color small images (in this case the Apples from 'First Days' .

2. Punch them out using the 1/2" circle punch.

3. Cover the flat bottom of some clear glass beads with crystal effects glue and then pressed the stamped image onto it facing up

4. Glue (using Tombow Adhesive) the bead to various stationary items- in this case I did large paperclips, magnets, pushpins (on a piece of foam) and clips. For the clips, I sandwiches the pins between the bead and a second 1/2" punchout to make it more secure.

The second version uses a Bubble Bee incentive stamp from some time ago- I have no name with it (sorry) , but I though it'd be cute!

I'm going to package these items up in a clear cellophane bag and add a big shot Top Note Topper that my kids will decorate for their teachers!
