I am glad to say we seem to be getting a steady number of people visiting every day.

I wanted to point out to you the change in the rules though don't be worried as it is just in the limits. I have changed the article maximum to 800 words or 1 page for articles (whichever is longer) and 1500 words or 2 pages for short stories (also whichever is longer).

Sometime soon, hopefully this weekend, I plan on going back and working on the rules to make them a little more formal so be sure to check back in for that, especially since I may be revising them a little.

This contest seems to be getting off to a pretty good start and I cannot wait for the first submission. There will be three categories: Poetry, short stories, and articles. The limits will be 1 page max for poetry, 800 words or 1 page for articles (whichever is longer), and 1500 words or 2 pages for short stories (whichever is longer). Anyone can enter but please only one entry per person; you can only enter in one category and you can only enter once in it. Preferably all pieces will be in the form of an online article (Triond, Bukisa, or other).

I am fine with offensive language, just remember that this is being judged on quality and offensive language can sometimes detract from the quality of your writing though other times it may add to it and make it more realistic. Just be sure to pay attention to how it is effecting your piece.

The contest will close on July 21 so please have your submissions in by then. If you know you are going to enter and which category you will be entering in, it would make it a lot easier if you could say which category you will enter on the submission page. All entries require a link posted on the submission page along with your name and the category. If it is unpublished and a word doc, please send to t-man15@hotmail.com and leave the other info on the submission page.

For judging I will try to get the results out as soon as possible. I will judge one category at a time. Once all submissions are in I will decide in which order I will judge the categories, depending on how many entries each category has.

First place in each category will get a feature article and interview which will be posted here and on Triond. Each category will have a second place award and possibly a third place depending on number of entries and on whether I feel there is one particular entry that deserves it.

I am currently planning on judging the contest by myself but if you would be interested in helping to judge let me know.

If you have any questions or comments please be sure to tell me on the queston and comments page.

If you can keep generic questions, comments and suggestions to that page that would be very much appreciated. And was it a city, island or an entire continent? Whatever it was, it may exist and might have been found. Atlantis Found and Lost with Google Ocean is a fascinating article, complete with pictures and videos, by Patrick Bernauw.

From the Article:

It happened only a few days after Google Ocean was launched. The UK tabloid The Sun published an article, titled Is this Atlantis? Bernie Bramford (38), an aeronautical engineer living in Chester, had spotted the mythical lost city here (co-ordinates 31 15'15.53N 24 15'30.53W), on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean, near the Canary Islands, 620 miles off the coast of north west Africa. Bramford claimed that the network of criss-cross lines, forming a perfect rectangle about the size of Wales, looked like an "aerial map" of a city.

Atlantis experts said that the perfect rectangle of criss-cross lines was located at one of the possible sites of Atlantis, as described by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato. After a failed effort to conquer Athens, around 9000 BC, the fabulous city with its advanced civilisation was destroyed by earthquakes and floods, and sunk with all its citizens beneath the Atlantic Ocean.

Resounding Glasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14342255072121494760noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2719351217303467802.post-40468894529708583542009-04-30T20:44:00.000-07:002009-05-03T18:15:50.104-07:00The Final Chapter of Deception of Love!Fresh Writing has published the final chapter of the Deception of Love. Once you absorb the crowds you will realize that there is plenty to see around. Starting from the exquisite Marine Drive which runs 3 kilometers along the coast to the Victoria Terminus station which is a UNESCO world heritage site, Mumbai has several gems up its sleeves. Gateway of India overlooking the vast sea, the majestic Taj hotel, the picturesque HajI Ali dargah and the beautifully sculpted Elephanta caves (another UNESCO world heritage site) are all places that are worth seeing. Also, don’t forget to take a trip down to Dharavi to find an exquisite collection of leather hand-bags and purses and bargain your way to get some really cool stuff! And yes, do try the famous Chowpatty food while in Mumbai- it may not be the best food you would have eaten but you will certainly savor the taste for a long time! Tip: Avoid Mumbai in the monsoons (June-October) as it gets too hot and humid.

Resounding Glasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14342255072121494760noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2719351217303467802.post-3834803516022549842009-04-26T01:58:00.000-07:002009-04-26T02:28:08.139-07:00A Mystery of the Mystic Lamb: The Nazi Plot
Although I never knew about the Mystic Lamb or the mystery of the Mystic Lamb I do know that this article by Patrick Bernauw is an extremely interesting read that you are sure to enjoy.

From the Article:

Maybe the greatest mystery of the many mysteries surrounding the Mystic Lamb, was caused by the lower left panel, called the Just Judges. The original panel got stolen in 1934, has never been found and was replaced by a copy. It's Belgium's most famous unsolved mystery. Countless amateur and professional sleuths are still tracking clues. There are two kinds, those that promote in a kind and ethical manner and those that are unethical and not sincere. This article by REPuckett outlines the do's and don'ts of self promotion.

From the Article:

An ethical guide to promoting your content on Triond for new members, as well as some old ones.

As stated above, the purpose of this article is to provide an ethical guide to promoting your content on Triond. The focus will be on promoting inside Triond. Promoting outside of Triond will be touched on only briefly at the end. The first thing you need to understand is that all of us writers on Triond are basically "selling" the same thing. If you sell vacuum cleaners for a living, the chances are that you will not try to focus on selling to other vacuum cleaner salesmen. It just doesn't make too much sense. Try to think of it in this way if you ever have the urge to start a thread in the Triond forum blatantly promoting yourself. Now when you do ignore this unspoken code of ethics and spam yourself all over Triond you tend to be ostracized by the rest of the community. I'm sure when we all first start off on Triond that our intention is to experience a certain amount of success from our efforts. If this is the case for you, I assure you that taking an unethical approach to self-promotion within the established Triond community will have the opposite affect. This article is intended to explain to you how you can maintain a reputation as a decent writer within the Triond community by participating ethically and contributing to the community in a positive way.

Resounding Glasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14342255072121494760noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2719351217303467802.post-83181951541627521262009-04-19T12:15:00.000-07:002009-04-23T00:49:29.823-07:00About the Author: Resounding GlassI, Resounding Glass, am a young writer trying to improve and gain readership. Do you even know where it came from? This well written article by R J Evans is very interesting and provides a full overview of kissing from the history to why we do it and everything else in between.

From the Article:

Think about it. If a spaceship full of aliens landed on earth to observe human behavior, how on earth would we explain the act of kissing? One person touches another person with their lips. Not, of course, lips to lips alone. Lips to cheek, lips to neck, lips to - well, just about any other body part can be considered. Imagine the polite but nevertheless obvious squirming with embarrassment that could be involved on either or both sides of the species divide.

Resounding Glasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14342255072121494760noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2719351217303467802.post-51661772936016547312009-04-18T18:36:00.000-07:002009-04-19T00:42:37.298-07:00Announcement: Change in FormattingHello All,

After receiving feedback and thinking it over I have decided that I am going to change the way your work is featured. Instead of posting an entire article, I will put a paragraph or two and then a link to your article. The only exception to this will be poetry as I feel it will break up the poem and due to the fact that many poems are short may end up including most if not all of the poem anyway. This will also be helpful as some of the articles are very long and take up a good deal of space. This change will go into effect starting with the next piece I feature but will not apply to previously featured articles. If you would like me to feature an entire article for some reason please let me know, otherwise I will post by the guidelines previously mentioned.

If you have any recommendations, changes or feedback related to this change let me know and I will take them into consideration. Thanks,

-Resounding Glass
Resounding Glasshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14342255072121494760noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2719351217303467802.post-57694182734369464692009-04-17T20:49:00.000-07:002009-05-09T19:07:32.129-07:00New BlogHello All,

I just wanted to let you know about my Online Writing Blog.
