He has also annouced a UK tour this week starting Febuary next year, so if you can go, please go! =D its his first time in the UK so go show him what us  crowds are like!

Sorry for the lack of activity and thank you again to all for staying loyal, I’ve recently had to move and I am also doing a Chinese Studies Degree so my free time is sparse at the moment.

However  we’ve got some great bands lined up to show you over the next few weeks but the biggest news at the moment is the announcement of our new writer Alexandra, she has previous experience on another blog and should be bringing some new life to ElectroIndie. She has a great taste in music and she’ll also post reviews of live gigs and will give you a preview of more great upcoming bands. We’re still not closing writer positions as of yet so if you are also interested in becoming a writer drop me an email on ross@electroindie.com

This is a plea to our current readers and hopefully future writers, if you also have a good knack for picking out some of the best upcoming bands and want to get your musical insight seen by thousands of people we’d love to hear you, myself (Ross) and Mark are going through a particularly busy time and though we will strive to keep the website up to date it would help us massively to have a hand or two.

If you think you’ve got what it takes to write for us then please send a message to ross@electroindie.com with a list of at least three bands that you think would fit this site and we may well be in touch soon!

The Transients is a band to truly get excited about, based in Perth, Western Australia this band is producing some great electro-indie songs, you can hear clear 80’s synth influence with today’s touch. They’re new single “One Day” has already been picked up and remixed by Kid Kenobi and the team behind The Transients also lead me to believe they will be on to big things, same producer as Depeche Mode and Goldfrapp, guest singer Yasmin Lee (also appeared on Pendulum’s album in Hold your Colour).

Fresh from playing at Reading and Leeds festival this year, Soft Toy Emergency (Made up of Jen (vocals), George (bass), Luciano (synths), Andy (guitar) & Will (drums).)  have a new music video out for their song “Critical”.

Blending a mix of Electro-Pop and Disco with definate 80’s influences they have a extremly catchy handful of songs, check them out!

Boy Crisis

A lot has been going on since we last posted, our writers all had a great time at the recent Reading Festival and we were glad to see many of the bands we had previously covered playing live there!

We are looking forward to covering many more upcoming bands in the next few weeks, we definitely have some catching up to do!

Anyway I want to bring to you a new video by Boy Crisis, the first band we covered on this website, they’ve had a lot of activity since we last posted, they’ve been signed and are about to release there second single “Fountain of Youth” I love the track although it seems another odd “MGMT Styled” video.. enjoy and if you haven’t already read my previous post on Boy Crisis here.

Owl City will be releasing his 3rd Album on the 14th of July. Entitled “Ocean Eyes” it will be his first album since signing with a major record label.

He recently released two single’s called “Hot Air Balloon” and “Strawberry Avalanche”. Here is one of them.

Passion Pit is an electronic band which formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States in 2007. They consist of Michael Angelakos (vocals, keyboards), Ian Hultquist (keyboards), Ayad Al Adhamy (synth, samples), Jeff Apruzzese (bass) and Nate Donmoyer (drums). They play a style of electronic music reminicent to MGMT and Friendly Fires but with a more folk approach in the Vocals.

Yes they will be at Reading Festival in 2009, On the NME/Radio 1 Tent on the Sunday.
