Norway's Aftenposten is the first customer to launch a Web site powered by the Widget Framework on Escenic 5. The Netherlands' De Telegraaf has launched Escenic Tip Engine. But the Sun will no longer publish the Toronto-based national daily's Manitoba and Saskatchewan edition after that, ending a 25-year business relationship. Sun printing also may move to Winnipeg.

               <description disable-output-escaping="yes">The Daily Times, Wilson, N.C., has replaced analog platemaking with a system based on Southern Lithoplate's Viper 830 thermal plate. Plates are imaged on a Screen 2000LE acquired through Southern Lithoplate in a package that included Presteligence workflow software. The computer-to-plate system was installed in July.
