<p>Launched on February 14, the Doritos® Viralocity contest was a nation-wide initiative that asked Canadians to name the newest Doritos® unidentified flavour, create a 60 second online video about what that flavour inspired in them and make it go viral.  Users submitted their entries to the site which were, in turn, posted to the contest website and the Doritos® Canada YouTube channel.  An entry’s Doritos ‘Viralocity’ score was measured by an algorithm that calculated how viral a video had become by pulling and compiling data from internal and external sources like Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and AddThis.  The entrant with the highest Doritos® Viralocity score was eligible to win $100,000 cash and an additional $150,000 should they achieve Maximum Doritos® Viralocity.  </p>
<p>“Without the Agility system to lean on, we would not have been able to complete the Doritos® Viralocity project on time and within budget,” said Kyle Tinning, Senior Project Manager at Edentity.  “Agility also made the process of posting videos to YouTube and moderating submissions and comments very easy.”</p>
<p>The response to the contest was overwhelming, with over 1,100 entries submitted, over 7,000,000 video views, a YouTube following of over 3,500 subscribers, over 66,000 Facebook fans and the number 1 spot on the Ad Age Viral Video Chart for 2 weeks.  Kyle Tinning, Senior Project Manager at Edentity adds, “The Doritos Viralocity contest was one of the most innovative digital marketing initiatives ever.  We were very excited about the project from the moment it was described to us by BBDO/Proximity on behalf of their client, Frito Lay Canada.”</p>
<p>The grand prize of $100,000 was awarded to Jeff Chan for his video entitled “Doritos Tablet” and flavour name, “Spice 2.0”.  His video was rated and “favourited” over 6,000 times and garnered over 672,000 unique total views, with over 1,000 shares and re-tweets through the Doritos Viralocity website.</p>

<p>TORONTO- April 2010- Edentity Web Systems recently announced the launch of yet another Agility CMS Managed Site for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.  The new site offers visitors with an inside look into the background of the Orchestra, with the integration of data from the Orchestra Planning and Administration System as well as connecting to the online ticketing system.</p>
<p>The TSO started with a content rich site that worked perfectly with Agility, making for a smooth transition in under one month’s time.  One of the many features of the site is a data model linking artists, pieces, composers, instruments, performances and much more together.  Understanding the linkage between all of these elements took a great deal of detailed work, but exemplifies the user-friendliness of the Agility system.</p>
<p>Edentity worked closely with TSO staff to implement the site on Agility CMS in time for the new season.  As an added feature to the TSO site, a theme-ing module was set in allowing for the swap out of key design elements specific to each season launch.  This will make each new performance season easily distinguishable from the next.  </p>
<p>Edentity also made a donation to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as part of their partnership.  In working together, TSO has established “a strong relationship with Edentity and implemented the building blocks of an online space poised for sustainable and progressive future growth,” Edentity was pleased to work with the Orchestra and are pleased with the overall outcome of the site.                                                                               </p>

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span>TORONTO, ON- Lowe Roche and Edentity recently launched a new e-commerce module for Audi Canada’s new R8 Campaign.  The campaign, entitled “Own your own R8”, allows users to purchase a replica 1:1 scale banner of the R8 to cover their garage door.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span>Edentity completed the back end development of the site, which was based on the creative ideas of Lowe Roche.  Jon Voigt from Edentity was quoted as saying “We were very excited when Lowe Roche contacted us to help with one of the world’s greatest car brands.  We love the campaign and working with Lowe Roche was a pleasure.”</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span>The new campaign offers users the option to purchase the banner online, and select which size will fit their garage measurements.  The site gives those people who are looking for the appeal of having the Audi R8, the option to have a replica without the large price tag.  The ecommerce portion of the site is the first for Audi in this context, and makes for a great marketing tool for publicizing the R8 Model.  </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span>With numerous videos and photos emphasizing the luxurious appeal of the car, Audi fans can definitely appreciate the entire site, and find out any information regarding the specifications of the vehicle.  It gives customers a personalized approach to building a car for themselves, and the interactive nature of the site is very user friendly.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span>Trisha Quennville of Lowe Roche stated “Edentity was able to deliver high quality back-end code for the campaign under a very tight timeline.  We are very pleased with the results.”  It was a successful working partnership for both Edentity and Lowe Roche, with the Audi clients adding a new, fresh module to their site.</span></p>

</span>]]></description><pubDate>2/2/2010 1:31:04 PM</pubDate></item><item><title><![CDATA[Agility January Launch Includes Major User Generated Content Updates]]></title><author><![CDATA[Pam Westwater]]></author><description><![CDATA[<p>TORONTO- CANADA- Edentity Web Systems today announced the launch of the January iteration of the Agility Content Management system.  Each month, a new version of Agility is made available to users with upgrades and improvements to the software-as-a-service CMS.  This month’s release was focused on user generated content updates.  It includes 10 new features and resolves about 100 minor issues.</p>
<p>Aspects of this specific update include the ability to customize user generated content, such as adding comments or video, with moderation.  This allows users to track which comments or videos are being added to their sites, and ensure that spam and unfiltered material does not get through.  Minor updates include picture resizing, re-publishing from an unpublished list, and the option to copy fields across multiple languages. </p>
<p>The user generated content enhancements allow for automatic conversion of video to Flash, and automatic uploading of videos to YouTube.  The same functionality applies to photos for Flickr, a commonly used site for sharing photos.  Both of these updates will make it easier for users to share content and media from the website, to help foster a sense of community and to increase repeat traffic to the site. </p>
<p>Social Networking aspects were also improved.  Enhancements such as streamlined publishing to mobile sites, Facebook pages, Twitter feeds and YouTube channels will vastly improve the site’s views and following. Support for “Facebook Connect” has been improved so that users are able to log in to a site with their Facebook credentials and tie their profile to the site. </p>

<p>Highlights of the update included template page changes, client side saving without the need for a reload, faster workflow actions through the synchronization process, automatic updates of API’s, and finally, the addition of a Publish Recent Changes button.  In total, 189 bugs fixes and tweaks were made as well as 31 features and enhancements.</p>
<p>Joel Varty, Director of Research and Development for Agility, was quoted as saying, “We've added a zoom action on the Meta Tag and Script fields on page settings.  This will open the same field in a large dialog to allow you to see more of the text at a time.  This is especially useful if you have a custom analytics script you need to add to a page and you need to see everything at once.”</p>
<p>The most important aspect of the release was the increased productivity that will be allowed through the faster performance of the workflow actions for the modules with heavy content.  From the content manager, working with lists, syncing content to multiple domains, to previewing complex sites, to running reports, to developing sites, the Agility system has been tweaked for much faster performance.</p>
<p>In addition to performance improvements, Edentity has listened to their users and created a Change Template option for each page on the site which allows you to drag and drop the modules from each page to a new template.  In addition, a “Publish Recent Changes” button has been created on Pages and Content for when users do not have a specific page selected.  This takes you from the recent changes report to the pending publish view, allowing you to see everything that needs to be published from anywhere on the website..</p>

<p>Updates to the ASP.NET-based, hosted CMS include an upgraded content editor that provides better support for image and document management, more control over image formatting, more options for styling content and an improved table wizard.  </p>
<p>The main focus of the release was to streamline the management of sophisticated content architectures without sacrificing usability.  Content can now be related to other content, unique fields can be established across the system and page templates have more options for default settings.  </p>
<p>In total, 20 new enhancements and over 100 tweaks and bug fixes were made according to the Agility CMS blog.</p>

<p>The new release also includes an upgrade to the latest version of the Telerik RadEditor content editing control for editing rich text content on the site. The new editor control, built from the ground up by Telerik, improves performance and streamlines the user interface for content editing tools such as an improved table wizard, link builder and image/document management utility.</p>
<p>Bug fixes, API updates and general performance enhancements were also included.</p>

Decision comes after lengthy review of several proposals submitted. </b></p>
<p>The Region of Peel unveiled the Region’s revamped Police Web site after Edentity successfully completed the overhaul of their existing site and integrating the Web site with Edentity’s star product, the Agility Content Management System (CMS). Edentity was chosen over numerous other submissions in a request for proposal issued by the Region in the middle of 2006. </p>
<p>“Being chosen out of all the contenders to redo the Web site was a great honor for us,” says Michael Assad, Director of Business Development at Edentity, “We know they had a lot of vendors to choose from and are glad to have come out on top as the best service provider for the Region of Peel’s needs.”</p>

SCI attributes its selection of Edentity for this project over other software service providers to the advanced knowledge Edentity possesses of the ASP.NET framework, which this project largely depended on.  </p>

<p>P2’s client, KidsFutures, offers a several services online through their Web site. P2’s offering included a tool to manage content in the backend of the Web site and they chose Edentity Web Systems to administer this function based on their proven competency to provide top-notch service. </p>
