You can have a look at clickbank’s marketplace for the top selling ebook like products based on a category. There is also a website which does very good analysis of the clickbank products and their popularity called CBTrends. If you are after promoting products that surely sell, pick any of the top ten and you will be promoting a good product, no doubt.

Its amazing how all the statistics are just right in front of you.

Top selling ebooks make above $1000 per day with about 30-50% being spent on advertising which is usually keywords. Affiliates pick up those products straight away and start promoting them in their own way.

Luckily I had all of my work backed up, so I could roll back to the version that I have. My colleague wasn’t so lucky as he had his dreamweaver in check in/check out mode and while checking out his HTML client got the infected files.

Make sure you always backup your data and keep it in a safe place. Also make sure that you computer is well protected. I personally could not find anything better then Norton Internet Security 2009. It has an antivirus, a firewall and spam filter.

Another thing is, if your sites do get affected by some virus make sure to change the password on your FTP in cPanel.

It really depends on the actual topic of the ebook, since is some niches people expect a professional website. By professional website customers normally mean well balanced colour scheme and quality photos defining the theme of the site.

In most cases however an ebook web design should be kept very simple since the main attention of the viewer should be concentrated on the sales letter.

Its very handy however to have nice order buttons that stand out and maybe have the payment options underneath them. Something that makes it clear and noticeable.

Well the first thing you have to consider is the niche that you want your ebook to be in. It has to be unique and launch properly.

I have been observing Truth About Abs website and have been amazed by the results of this book. Its really quite phenomenal.

The site owner Mike Geary has picked one of the hardest niches, however the way he launched the book has really put him in front of his competitors. He has used just about every strategy out there to get his ebook to sell. He even wrote a book about it, if you are interested. Its called Small Business Internet Secrets.

He advertises using adwords, myspace, facebook, seo, articles, blogs, forums… you name it. Besides that, he gives his affiliates generous $75 commission, which equals to $26.86.

I’ve been to his website a few times and I’ve noticed that he is always doing something new. The current feature that I’ve noticed is that he has got a video on the landing page.

So, the key to a successful site like this is this:
Niche -> Design -> Traffic (lots of it) -> Affiliates -> Split Testing to improve

One thing that has happened more than once is I have been requested for a refund because the person who bought my ebook thought it was a real book.

My answer was:

It really depends on your target audience in terms of your refunds for book not being physical. Our business partner Annette has printed out her Tomato Growing ebook and it selling it for $10 dearer due to postage. You have to see how the buyer is likely to read the ebook. Some have the tendency to print it out or expect a physical copy.

Its not a real problem, but then you will get a couple of people like that.

Dan Kennedy once said, “If your refunds are below 5%, then you are not marketing well enough”.

Its always best to get some real keywords, out of a keyword tool like Google Keyword Tool

The second place that I would be looking for for keywords, would be competitor’s sites. You can spy on the keywords of those websites according to google relevance. I would also use the Google Keyword Tool for it, however the Website content function of it. This function doesnt always appear on .com and .com.au sites, however always appears here.

Finally, I would keep an eye out for rising trends in the Google Hot Trends
