We have the exciting opportunity this week to bring in Alex Yan as a DJ for Friday Night Stomp! Alex has been DJing swing music for nine years, all over the place, and brings to the booth an extensive knowledge of the music borne from his unique background in researching swing-era videos. You may also have heard of him as the founder and host of the Jazz Dance Film Festival in Seattle every summer (http://www.jazzdancefilmfest.com/).

Beloved instructor and friend Peter Flahiff is leaving us for the Golden State! Since this is his last dance at Eastside before he flies away forever (until we kidnap him back), come out and celebrate BOTH his birthday and the amazing years that he has graced us with his impeccably-dressed and fabulously-dancing presence. Peter is DJing one last night, but has promised to break his ordinary no-dancing-before-11 policy, so prepare to nab him early! Come out dressed to the nines in your vintage best, and let’s give him a fantastic send-off.

Ben and Peter’s Lindy Intensive is this SUNDAY! (5/5)

Coming up is the magical duo, the danger twins, the hilarious hepcats BEN WHITE and PETER FLAHIFF’s last workshop together before Peter moves away! Come to their Lindy Intensive Workshop this Sunday, May 5th, from 2-5 p.m. at the HARMONY BALLROOM, and learn new and improved moves, technique, and ways to take YOUR dancing up a notch.

PREREQUISITES:
This will be an INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED LEVEL INTENSIVE. Please be good and comfortable with your Lindy Hop, including the following: Swingouts (and variations), 6-Count Patterns (especially tuck turns) & Swing Charleston. If you’re shaky on these, fear not, we will do another workshop soon to cover them!

Only $25 at the door for three full hours of Ben and Peter goodness! See you there!

If you don’t know these sweet Lovers, they’re a small high-energy band of international swing dance fame, and dancing to them is a spectacular experience that CANNOT be missed! They’re back! This Tuesday we get to swing out to the sweet sounds and raucous rhythms of small group swing with the Careless Lovers! This band is in demand all over the world for swing dance events, and we are fortunate enough to have them play for us at Eastside Stomp on a Tuesday Night for only $7 per person!

New Fundamentals Classes Start March 8!!!

Don’t forget! The March Fundamentals classes start on March 8th, not on the 1st like they normally would. We’ll still have the usual Absolute Beginners Drop-in lesson included with the dance on the first though, so feel free to come on by and brush up your basics that night before getting started on the 8th!
