First Ladies of the US Inaugural Gowns on Display

An exhibit of reproduction Inaugural Gowns from 38 of the First Ladies of the United States is on display at the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center, 9 Vassar Street in Poughkeepsie, opening Thursday, November 5 . Runs through December 5 .

Hudson Valley Philharmonic's 50th Anniversary Season: "Brilliantly Brahms"

Conducted by HVP principal guest conductor Elizabeth Schulze. It features the 2009 winner of the HVP String Competition Li Lao, performing one of the greatest works for violin and orchestra: Tchaikovsky's: Violin Concerto, op. 35, D major. The concert is on Saturday, November 7th at 8pm at the Bardavon in Poughkeepsie.

Train Show is the “laaaast stop” for City of Poughkeepsie Quadricentennial

The City of Poughkeepsie Quadricentennial greets its last whistle-stop event, the Hudson Valley Railroad Society’s 38th Annual Railroad Exposition at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center. The Poughkeepsie show, on Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 10am to 3pm, is will be a hit with kids of all ages.

Visit Val-Kill often in 2009, the 125th anniversary of Eleanor Roosevelt's birth and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site. Mrs. Roosevelt was known as “The First Lady of the World”, and the site honors her life and work.
