Boy Scouts of America Sells 131 Johnson Road Property in Portland

We recently negotiated the sale of a 13,907 SF office property at 131 Johnson Road in Portland, Maine. Pine Tree Council, Inc. (Boys Scouts of America) sold the property, which was originally developed as their corporate headquarters and retail store in 2006. New owners, 440 Western Avenue Associates, LLP plan to redevelop the property into medical office space and will keep the BSA retail store as a tenant. Justin Lamontagne of NAI The Dunham Group brokered the sale on behalf of the BSA and consulted them on their retail need as well as their office relocation to Raymond, Maine. Andrew Ingalls of CBRE Boulos Company represented the buyers.

Disability RMS Finds New Home at 300 Southborough Drive

We recently negotiated a 65,000+ SF lease for Disability RMS at 300 Southborough Drive in South Portland. For the last 10 years, Disability RMS has operated out of their location in Westbrook. The City of Westbrook has been a valuable public partner to them, so their decision to leave was not an easy one. The new location at 300 Southborough not only made financial sense for the company, but is also conveniently located for their employees. Part of their new lease included a substantial Tenant Improvement Allowance that Disability RMS will use to complete a Class A office build-out for their specific needs. In January 2016, the company will join other big office users such as United Healthcare and Mortgage Network at this state-of-the-art office property.
Disability RMS is the nation’s leading provider of turnkey disability risk management products and services. Established in 1993, they offer Actuarial, Underwriting and Claims industry expertise in risk management. They serve their clients as strategic partners, valuing their long-standing customers and are committed to the development of new relationships.

Brad Moll Joins Our Industrial Team

We are pleased to announce a new addition to our industrial brokerage team. Brad Moll joins The Dunham Group after spending the last 22 years in the construction and property management industries. For 12 years, Brad worked as a project manager, estimator and eventually the VP of business development for Bancroft Contracting Corporation. Then for the last 10 years Brad ran his own commercial/industrial concrete company, Newman Concrete Services, Inc. as well as a property management company.

Casco Bay Steel Purchases 114,720 SF Industrial Complex

Casco Bay Steel recently purchased a 114,720 SF industrial complex on 12.88 acres from P & W Real Estate Corporation at 1 Runway Road in South Portland. Tom Dunham, SIOR brokered the sale, which closed on April 1st.
Maine Veterans Homes Purchase Land For New Headquarters
Date: April 7th, 2014
30 acre site sold to Maine Veteran’s Homes by Skowhegan Savings Bank at 450 Civic Center Drive in Augusta. Frank O’Connor, CCIM, SIOR brokered the sale, which closed on April 1st. Maine Veteran’s Homes will use the land to build a 25,000 SF administrative headquarters.
2-year Site Search and Analysis Leads Synergent to the Right Space

Justin Lamontagne recently completed a 2-year site search and property analysis for his client Synergent’s new data processing and operations space requirement. A 5,155 SF lease was negotiated and executed at Pineland Farms office campus in New Gloucester (with plans to expand up to an additional 15,000 SF over four years). “Synergent is a world-class operation and had very particular standards and requirements. The wait was worth it as their facility in Pineland is exactly what they envisioned two years ago,” said Lamontagne.

Starbucks to Open Second Old Port Location

Starbucks recently leased 2,031± square feet of retail space at 145 Commercial Street, the Evie Cianchette Block, located in the heart of Portland’s Old Port shopping district. The lease transaction was brokered by Frank O’Connor, CCIM, SIOR and Katie Allen from NAI The Dunham Group.
The national coffee giant currently resides in Portland’s Old Port at 176 Middle Street and that location will remain open. Starbucks has tentative plans to open the new store this April. 2,000 - 10,000 square feet of retail space is still available next to Starbucks at 145 Commercial Street, Portland.

Greener Postures Opens Second Location

Greener Postures Yoga is a locally-owned studio, teaching in the Vinyasa style of yoga and welcomes all skill levels. 65 West Gray Road will house Greener Postures second studio location. This location will offer heated and regular yoga as well as training sessions. The Falmouth studio is scheduled for a Fall 2012 opening.
