Today, I am here to awake you of a small hint that may answer your question, “Why am I in this particular circumstance?” Sarcastically, I’m letting you know the blame is on you! You have made explicit choices that have led you into your state of life at this moment. Now you may feel you are satisfied with how your life is and believe you made sound choices, but there is one thing that determines certain decisions we make in life overall which are STANDARDS! Unfortunately, the importance of standards isn’t always instilled in all women, but they are a very vital aspect all females need in life. Don’t ever feel incapable to setting standards on your life, because they can be implied even from a young age of 5. As a teen I have ended up in many situations that didn’t feel pleasing to me only because I did not live up to my own standards. Even through gaining wisdom through my mother, it was only up to me to apply what I want in my life. Now you may be wondering, “How do I know the standards I have are sufficient?” or “How do I even set standards for my life?” Standards are something that uniquely and divinely fit you. Think of them as your own personal “Cinderella” shoe. No one can change the measure of your standards to fit them. For instance, you wouldn’t let your best friend squeeze into your expensive shoes if she can’t fit them. Meaning it’s only fit for you to wear and if no one can fit them then they must move on. As I stated before, “Some women don’t learn the significance of standards or how to create them”. It all comes from growing and experiencing your life, learning to acknowledge what positively pleases you spiritually. Now I don’t want to confuse you into thinking this may be a one step easy process, because it isn’t. It has taken me different mistakes to acknowledge that I had to apply certain standards on my life. Even through having a positive influence as my mother in my life, she had to allow me to make mistakes on my own. I encourage you to see any positive influence in your life as yourself. Allow their past mistakes to become your own by ear not by action. Listen to what they tell you and become in touch with their past pain. This is a tactic I had to take hold of after being so fed up with making mistakes. I have learned now to embrace DIFFERENT mistakes and not make it a repetitive cycle. Women, it is important that if you have a young lady in your life that you share not only your present presence with her, but also your past. You may not have the knowledge on how to teach about the importance of standards, but you have the power to speak life. Speaking highly will allow young women to appreciate their life, which will automatically begin their process of building standards. So, I encourage you to keep shopping for these perfect “Cinderella” shoes and when you get them understand that it is FINAL SALE. Standards can’t be exchanged, returned, or even knocked down to a lower price to fit someone’s personal budget. So, dunamis teens and young ladies, let’s go shopping! This article was written by a dunamis teen developing into a powerful dunamis woman, Ariel Fuller. Ariel is the youngest daughter of DaVetta (Dee) Collins. Currently, she is enrolled at University of Illinois majoring in communications/pre-law. Ariel is relentless, self-motivated and an immovable force that cannot be stopped in spite of the obstacles, criticisms, and challenges she faces on a regular basis.</div>
