Ranting, in my own definition, is one’s medium of expression through writing, art, speaking, etc of his or her feelings usually a negative one. In other words, it is one’s way of venting out his or her frustrations in any medium available to him/her. Every human being on this planet has at some point of his life or more, ranted. It is a fact of life. We rant about work, traffic, the government system, the social inequalities, food, the rich -almost everything. Things that we find not endearing to us, we just flustered and rant about it. But most of the time, we rant not because we wanted to hurt someone or hates the circumstances surrounding our cases (I state this reservation though). We rant because our own body calls for it. It’s like nature taking its course. We rant because we wanted to let the negative vibe out and thus, we wanted to feel better.

I am a newspaper junkie, both the hard copy and the online type. I read every page, sometimes even the ads. But my favourite section of the paper is the Opinion section. I love reading the free flow of ideas. The arguments and the counter-arguments of the author regardless of whether I am agreeable to that or not. I like it because of the outpour of emotion of the author and the way he conveys his opinion to his readers. It is just amazing. Sometimes, I am persuaded to agree even when I really don’t. I noticed though that most of these opinions are rants. It’s like everyday, especially in the political aspect of the society, they see the wrongdoings of the government and they just rant every single mistake of it. I am not saying that it is bad, in fact it is good that it is through these rants that we get to have a voice in our society. It is like getting socially and politically involved in a subtle way. My point is, in our dynamic society, it is important that we get to react to the changes. With that, it is easier to connect with one another and see how we could compromise. Without the ‘ranters’ or the ‘complainants’, we would never get evolved. And that is one aspect why I think it is good.

Thus, aside from the natural involvement of ranting is concerned, or stating in other way, that ranting is good for the heart, it is also one way of getting heard. With all the happenings in the world, particularly in some countries of the middle east where many of the people was and for some is trying to get involved in their society, I am in the opinion that it did all start from a rant.

Are you going to feel angry, embarrassed or simply take it? Well, in my own unbiased opinion or the lack thereof, it depends on who said it. If it is by someone not really close to me, I might feel insulted, angry and maybe retaliate by saying that same thing to that person. However, if it is by someone I “admire” then it is going to be a truckload of embarrassment, pink cheeks and maybe a little bruise on the ego.

If it is a friend- someone who could be brutally honest with me, then it might be a wake up call by telling me that “hey girlfriend, your belly is bigger, are you pregnant or something?” or “your clothes are really getting smaller, aren’t they?” And it is my obligation to just read between the lines.

So yeah, I’d rather have that someone be a friend because I know it is one way of telling me that I need to cut off from the slack I am in and do some physical activities for my sake. The thing about going through a review for an all important exam was my life became sedentary. Eat, study and sleep were the activities I got involved with for the last six months or the past year. I have to admit, I’m getting used to it and my tummy was loving it. I somehow embraced this all too “vacation mode” life even after the exam. I was so into it until some “brutally honest friends” went over to see how I was doing. As they found out, I was certainly doing fine, in fact, too fine for their taste.

I am no stranger to this diet slash exercise slash being healthy things. In fact, it is always on my “to do” list for my new year’s resolution every year. In fairness to me, I get to keep it for atleast a few months. But just as they say that promises are destined to be broken, I let destiny took over everytime it knocked on my door.

It’s silly that I’m trying to do this thing again. The difference is, I get to do this at the end of the year and hopefully, I’d be able to keep it this time. Like Nikita said, “there is always a choice” and I realized that it was my own choosing why I can’t keep my promise. I have to stop making excuses for myself. And one more thing, this is actually the first time since high school that someone told that I am fat. That F word I thought I would never heard again.

I’m so hooked with you. It could be your smell, your rising popularity, or your taste. I think it is more of the latter. I could not live without you. You are my addiction – my more consistent addiction. You taste like heaven. I even thank God everyday for one of His greatest gifts – you.

However, since we developed this intimate relationship, I became jumpy. My migraine hurts even more, that even a dose of Advil could not soothe. My hands shook everytime I get to raise a thing. Damn, you made me feel incomplete if I cannot get a taste of you every single day. Sometimes, I even yearn to taste the better you, the improved you and the more complicated you.

I sometimes ask what if I never get to taste you at an early age? Would I be having the same problem? I wish I never let myself fell for you this deep. It could have been an easier escape. I wish. I do set high standards for myself. I based these not on other people but on me alone. Competition against myself makes me not mind of others. It is good since I could focus on what should be done and not get distracted.

Thus, I don’t really believe of what people say regarding the importance of other’s opinion about me. Call me stubborn but screw them. I really don’t care of what they thought or think about me. If I make mistakes or I have failures I am only responsible before my parents and those I made mistakes against and not with those who are not privy to the matter. Sometimes hypocrisy makes me sick.

It’s nice to be back after a long slack. Well, my hands were kinda full during those times that it was not possible for me to sit and write something on my blog.

But here I am putting yet another worthless and unappealable entry. Speaking of worthless and unappealable, I know you guys do not want to really know what books I am raring to read but since this is MY blog, I’m still going to write it nonetheless (lol).

1. James Patterson’s Novels. Okay, maybe I’m watching too much Dexter lately and it made me realize how much I missed JP’s novels. I’ve read several books of him (Jack and Jill, Along came a spider, Hide and Seek, etc) but I haven’t read Alex Cross’ titled books yet. So e-book, here I come.

2. Meg Cabot. I have to admit despite liking err loving suspense thriller novels, I am as well hooked to Meg Cabot’s genre. I love Princess Diaries movies and I’m so looking forward to read the book series.

3. Dan Brown. Enough said. I’ve read his books- Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. I have yet to read Deception point and his other books.

4. Cecily Von Zeigesar. Gossip Girl is one of my favourite show on the tube so I might as well read the books. I read a few a pages and I felt like I’m gossip girl! Lol!

5. Sophie Kinsella. Same reason as Meg Cabot.

6. Mitch Albom. Tuesdays with Morrie really was a good read. I heard things about “Five People you meet in heaven” so I’ll go see and read it.

7. Paolo Coelho. Done with Alchemist and I will be reading his other books too.

8. John Grisham. I’m a lawyer wannabe so why not read something that I can relate to right?

9. Stephenie Meyer. I’m not a Twi-Fan, so I might not read the Twilight series, but I love her book “The Host”. It was a very good read. Highly Recommended.

So, I guess that wrap up my list of my fave authors and books. I'm thinking of putting another list of my favorite things soon.

This is more of a personal view on instances which somehow made an impact on me during the year 2010. So here it is…

1. Noynoy Aquino’s presidency. This was pretty much the very first big story of 2010- having a new president. The Filipinos are very optimistic that he’ll be able to make a difference. He still has 5 years to prove that, so we’ll see.

2. The Quirino Hostage Incident. This was a shocking news and for several weeks I was very affected to the point of being not too proud being a Filipino. This was the instance when we were able to earn a spot in the “hall of shame” list of other countries.

3. BAR exam goes MCQ’s. This one is more personal as this change affects only me, my classmates and other thousands of law students and legal professionals in the country. This transition is really a headache since we only have less than a year to prepare for it. Hopefully, we’d be able to get past this challenge in our quest for success.

4. Money Pacquiao won again. This entry is a regular every year. True enough, every fight of Pacquiao is always a grandeur event for Filipinos. (read: my last year’s post)

5. Webb, et al’s acquittal. I remember I was still in grade school when the news about the Vizonde massacre along with its main suspects happened. After 15 long years, the High Court made a decision acquitting them. Was justice served? That’s the big question now, isn’t it?

6. The Azkals rise to popularity. Ours is not really a football nation but with the arrival (mainly because most members of the team are half-fil and half foreign) of the Azkals, we get interested in the sport. I personally like football and its world cup craze, so the promising rise of football in the country makes me real excited. Go Azkals!

7. I started my very personal blog. With emphasis on the word “very” I made a personal blog which contain some personal information about me. It’s my online diary and just like an ordinary diary, it can only be read by me and me alone(hehe). It sort of a 10-year project, just to find out if the past 10 years of my life is interesting or not.
But halfway through it, while writing my emotional and mental state, I felt better. True, writing can be a good source of pouring out emotion and feeling better afterwards. Enjoy reading.**

Have you ever felt being in the state of idleness when everything seemed to be in a slow-motion and every time you take a step, it feels like 3 seconds before your other foot lands forward? That was how I felt after resigning from work barely 2 weeks ago.
My usual routine of sleeping early and waking up early went on limbo and was totally kicked out of my supposed schedule. See, I like waking up early in the morning because I have proven that the early you are, the more work you get to accomplished. Just as I mentioned, I still have a lot of things to do particularly school stuffs that required my utmost attention. Truth is, I'm sort of lost of what to do that's why a good and very strict schedule should be at hand. I actually had a good schedule and it worked perfectly fine until the middle of last week, when I woke up and just could not do anything but to stare, think and gone nowhere.

I have been reflecting on how I assess my life. Honestly, I have no idea until now regarding the things that I want and the things that I need. I couldn't even tell what kind of personality I have. Times when I wanted to be subtle, be a loner and reserved. Days when I wanted be laugh out loud, go out and be expressive. Occasions when I am just in between. It can be blamed to mood swings, menstrual cycle or simply being a female, but if faced with a question of how I describe myself, I actually have no idea.

Sometimes, human as we are, we have ambitions and expectations toward other people and most especially, toward ourselves. On my case, I expect and regard high of myself. I like setting up high expectations because I believe that if there's something you aim in life, why not go for the peak, the number one and the ultimate. Why settle for the slope, the number two or the penultimate when there's still something more to be achieved. Nevertheless, the downside of having high expectations is it's emotional guarantee that confidence and self-esteem will surely drop, head first when the same was not met. Even if I utterly failed of what I expect from myself recently, I did not and would not lower my standards. Call me ambitious or wishful thinker, but I could not think of other way to regain control of myself - but to outplay, outwit and outdo my previous me.

I feel good, comfy and inspired to write this entry. A deviation from the successive entries of posting pictures and two sentenced posts. I wanted to write something about inspirations. But let me just warn you that my thought is so unorganized and so is this entry.

Same day last week, I was in a total opposite. I was a complete b*tch and I knew my colleagues (both classmates and co-workers) noticed that. I couldn't even give them a decent smile or a simple hello. I felt horrible, stressed and harassed. I was so quiet and grumpy all day. I wanted to resign effective immediately but too late, I already gave my word that I'll render a 30-day notice to my boss. Everyday last week, I felt being dragged to work. I made the decision to leave 2 weeks before I made it official. Thanks to discipline and the fear of future walk-of-shame, I tendered my resignation in the best possible way. 30 days! What was I thinking? I should have made it two-weeks or immediate. I didn't like going to work anymore. And thanks again to some exams in school, I was able to get an excuse to be absent from work (though I really need to be absent to study, so it was not really an excuse). It was really a forgettable week.

Weekend was better for me. First, I don't work on Saturdays, second,I don't have a class and third, Ateneo Blue Eagles won in Game 1 of UAAP Finals in a convincing fashion (yey!). I read a Cosmo Magazine and I browsed on my favorite section (nope, not that part), the section where it inspires a lot of women to be independent and fearless (yes, that part). And you know what I learned? I learned that everytime you lack motivation to do something you should, you have to look for an inspiration. It suggests that it would really be of big help if you read the successful women's (or men's) bio and see how they took the challenges and be a cut above the rest.

Well, I wanted to do that. I was thinking of reading Hilary Clinton's life and be inspired by her (i haven't read it yet...maybe later). But with the surmountable amount of braincells usage and deep-crushing contemplation (no pun intended), I realized that I cannot only be inspired by Hilary Clinton but with a lot of other things and with a lot of other people. Early this week, I was able to talk to a classmate who works for an NGO. I was inspired. I talked to my mother and asked for her advice and I got inspired. I was inspired by a law student who lost both legs due to a blast in La Salle during Bar exams and yet she's determined to be a lawyer. A teacher, whom despite of financial and physical constraints, was able to get through of it all and became very successful. Lady gaga's approach on music style and genre is also very inspiring (except the fashion aspect) or by a Pastor's preaching on a Sunday service. I realized that these people have struggles too but they overcome it. I just have to figure out how they do it.

I guess, all I am saying is, there would be times when we feel like sh*t (excuse my language) once in a while for some reason or for no reason at all and be a total pain in other people's neck or hating them for putting such pain in our neck or whatever, but the most important thing is we realized that we made a mistake and we are willing to go out of our way to make up for it. Knowing other peoples' struggles and mishaps made me realized that it's okay to have hell days or weeks (months?God forbid!) but we need to make an effort not to drag other people down with us in our misery. As one Facebook status of a friend says, "Kung miserable buhay mo, di na kasalanan ng iba yun".

I am trying to make up for what I did last week especially towards my officemates. I am thinking of making out the best of last 3 week stay in the office. I try not to be tight on them. Just let it loose and have a pure unadulterated fun (pun intended) with them. Thanks to those who inspired me to do good and be good.

Did someone inspire you today?

Would you spend it on a laptop? Well, this laptop is worth 1 Million Dollars (45 Million in peso)! It is not available in the market and you have to get an appointment before you could buy it (i.e, if you can afford to). This ultimately luxurious laptop is named as Luvaglio named after its maker, Rohan Sinclair Luvaglio.
She personifies the stereotyped rich, beautiful, teenage brat who lives in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She dislikes being unnoticed and loves to head and command her minions, rightfully enough for her royal title, The Queen B. She is Blair Cornelia Waldorf, one of the most popular(alongside bff's Serena Van der Woodsen)students of elite prep school called Constance. She's hated and people celebrated (including her minions) when she did not make it to Yale and instead ended up in NYU where seemed everyone does not know The Queen B!

Okay. I'm just talking about the TV show. Gone are the days when a "villain" of a story is being hated. Today, we learn to love their characters for somehow we can relate to their personalities, lifestyles and ofcourse, their wickedness. I am nothing close to Blair Waldorf (though,I'm trying lol!) but what makes me like her a lot is ultimately her high fashion sense and her unforgettable quotes. She dresses in a very classy way. I am no expert when it comes to fashion but I like to look at her outfits from school uniforms to evening and party dresses(mostly skirts). And who would not noticed her vast collection of headbands? --which is complemented by her neat and beautiful locks (I'm thinking of getting locks too!).

I took a research of her pics at the internet wearing those gorgeous dresses. Oh, I love Blair's dresses on Gossip Girl series. And here are some of those:
If my blog is somehow updated, that means I have many days of idleness. So just like today I have one topic in mind - CLUTTER.

Everytime a Semester ends, I make it a habit to put all materials, notes, photocopies, etc in boxes and put in on a cupboard or under my bed or in any available space in my tiny bedroom. Little did I know (not until now) that such boxes, aside from eating a big chunk of my bedroom space, it also contribute to a wobbling clutter in my room. I am on my last year in Law School and all our subjects are pretty much reviews, Political Law Review, Criminal Law Review, etc. For that reason, I have to dig on some materials that I used during my lower years. And while digging, I couldn't find the things that I primarily need. The qualifying word "wobbling" that I used cannot have a better description of what I feel. One time, I spent my entire Sunday looking for things, going in and out of rooms, looking here and there and could not find a single thing I need. I became cranky and impatient which results to unproductivity. That's where I became aware of the paramountcy of not only an organized room but more importantly, an organized mind.

The value of an organized room, mind or thought indeed saves time - as my professor said, the most important resources that we have. True, we can never take it back, once it is gone, it is gone forever. Once we have a cluttered mind, we cannot focus on one thing and it is hard to set priorities based on importance. In the end, we either do a lot of things in random fashion and eventually failed to finish any single one of them. For example, in your workplace. Your boss gave you a lot of assignments with deadlines in it. Somehow, you panicked and don't know what to do first. So you ended up doing all at the same time. Considering you only have 8 hours of work, you failed to submit even 1 report. Your boss obviously was disappointed and asked you to do an overtime work and have atleast 1 report. Thus, the time that you're supposed to spend with your family or spend it on something productive went to waste because you failed to focus and such failure is the result of your cluttered mind.

Have you watched the show, Clean House? Have you noticed how those homeowners' demeanor before and after their house cleaned? It was as if a big load was taken off their back based on their reactions. There were even episodes that relationship once strained caused by clutters were able to get back because they became clutter-free. So, never underestimate the value of de-cluttering our rooms and minds. It really creates a huge difference.

As for me, I did have a share of some house cleaning. I took all the boxes out of my room and sort them out based on importance. De-cluttering is actually one form of self evaluation and reflection. I was shocked to know that there are things that are not at all important to keep. It is vital that we learn to let go of some things that we do not really need like old newspapers, magazines or books. I sorted those that I presently need and those that are not. I have a lot books which dates back from college and I put them in one box and I was planning to donate it or put it on booksale. Even my law books which I don't think I'm reading again will be sold to my fellow students in a much cheaper price. Oh, I also rummaged my closet and found out clothes that are either do not fit anymore or just grown out of fashion and put them in another bag (s) and probably donate to those who need it. After all the cleaning and sorting, I felt good. I put everything on it's place. Somehow I could smell a dust-free and an organized and spacious room where I can move around and know where exactly to look for things I need without getting dizzy.

So did you de-cluttered yourself today?
I was able to do a lot of things and just want to share it with you.

First off, we all know that last Friday was a payday. And what comes after that? Yup, shopping! Mind you, shopping for me is not equals to splurging. I already made a vow of quasi-poverty and has to live below my means. Take note, below my means not just within my means. So why did I go shopping? Well, because primarily of need. I bought a Nike Max-Air Backpack, something that I particularly looked for since as advertised, it would lessen your load due to some max-air technology or what nots. Bottomline, the backpack is suitable for traveling and for some heavy loads. It is something that I need. Before that, I usually carry 2 bags-1 small backpack for my bulky books, kikay-kits, phones, pens, etc. and the other, a handbag for some other stuffs (I don't have a netbook/laptop on it yet)and I felt that my shoulders were dislocating and some bones cracking, carrying those bags. And I even have backpains that's why I also went for some thai massage that same day. So anyhoo, I used it today and all I felt was comfort so it was a good buy (wink!).

I have mentioned that I went to a thai massage/spa center, just a few steps below our office. My first time, and probably my last. I never thought that thai massage could really be painful. The nice lady's not so gentle grip gave me lot of grunt. She gave me a whole body massage along with some bone-cracking stunts and positions. But overall, it was a nice experience because I could really feel some invigorations after that. Maybe next time, I'll just go for some ordinary mild massage.

There are a lot of good movies last weekend but since I was living on a tight budget, I've got to choose one. I chose Salt over Inception and Airbender. My friend and I had a blast! I am happy that I made the right choice. I heard that Inception is a great movie but it will leave you exhausted after because it was quite an "intelligent" movie. Airbender is another M. Shaymaylan movie which, I am not really a fan. Thus, Salt! My, Angelina Jolie just rocks! Enough said.

Yesterday, a Sunday, was spent doing laundry in the morning and Church in the evening. Just like in my previous post, Sunday makes my week. I invited a friend to join in attending the service and I am happy that she's happy that she attended (LOL). Just like me, she was also doing some soul-searching for awhile and I'm glad that she liked to attend the church and hopefully, she'll felt the same contentment as I have. We had our dinner at KFC and we talked until the store closed. We decided to just walked our way to her house and we talk some more until I realized that it was almost midnight and I have work the next morning and so I went home.

When I got home, I painted my toenails and waited till it dried up. Then went to sleep at around 1 AM! It was a good weekend. Fruitful and fulfilling.
I woke up this morning with a swollen right eye. I guess, it was caused by an allergy or whatever.

Anyways, I am still adjusting to this "working-student" thingy and boy, it wasn't that easy. I used to think that being a working student is just a walk in the park (and cool) but heck no! It is way beyond that. My job, as maybe opposed to the others, does not really require some braincells work. Simple invoicing, answering phone calls, telling everyone to enter their time correctly on CMS, doing some excel and maybe a little accounting are somethings that I can do under mechanical function i.e., do not really require me to think. In other words, monotonous, routinary and boring. Oh, maybe run some errands for my boss which keeps me awake since I get to go out from office and make some stops at nearby Jollibee. Point is, with braincells or not, it makes me exhausted at the end of the day. And I have school after that which makes it a big deal since Mr. Focus, a vital element for studying is somehow fading because Mr. Hunger, Mr. Tired and Co. are coming out and having a feast(or was it piece) of me.

Like I said, I'm still on the process of swallowing things here. Gradually, so as to keep me from choking and give up after a month. So help me God.

Sundays. No work nor classes. It's the time to rest our bodies from a week long work and classes or any regular activities for that matter. Usually, I find Sundays as laundry day or TV and DVD marathon day. It's more on doing things that I can't do during other days because there are other things lined-up that needed to do.

Sundays. For some, it's a family day. The best time to bond with your kids if your a parent. Or get to visit and have lunch at your old folks' house. It's usually the day when most busy people tend to relax and enjoy. For restaurant owners and crew, it is a busy day for a lot of customers get to eat along with families and friends. Sundays means something else for everyone, depending on the situation.

Sundays. It is a church day. I remember my mother would always wake us all up to attend the sunday mass. She wanted to instill in us the importance of the day. Growing up and going to catholic schools almost all my life, going to church was a must. It was more of compulsory than voluntary since my religion teacher would give a quiz regarding the gospel the next day, thus everyone has to attend unless you want to fail her quiz. I usually did not like sundays because of that. I was not a religious person, not a church goer or even know the verses in the Bible. Yes, I pray every night and on some occasions where prayers seemed the only solution to the problem, but to really make God the center of my life or be super religious is something I was not and I thought I'll never be.

One Sunday, a friend of mine who has been attending a christian church invited me to attend the service. I was kind of hesitant to go since I am catholic and attending church aside from catholic was like a mortal sin. But for some reasons, I went. I listened to the pastor and the topic of that day is choosing to worry or to worship. I was in a deep self-thought while listening because somehow I get to relate to the situation that he presented. Right. Why worry about your problems when worrying won't solved it? Instead of focusing on the problem, why not focused on the solution? I was so moved by his statement that worshiping and praying do make wonders all you have to do is ask God's help. I was so moved and embarrassed at the same time since only in times of problems we tend to remember him.

Sundays. For me, it is the day that I look forward to every week. The day I can attend the service and heard the talks of the pastor based on the words of God. No, I am not a convert. Yes, I still attend catholic mass from time to time but I always feel the joy of going to the service because it makes me guided for the whole week. I have so many learnings in a short span of time. Right now, I can honestly say that Sunday is favorite day.
True enough, this is the worst news story of the year and probably the biggest to wrap up the year. It is significant not only because I'm from mindanao but how this event shocked my moral conscience and the whole Philippines. Let's all pray that justice will be served and never again this awful, inhumane and worst killings will happen.

2. The Ondoy Deluge. Again, another sad event highlighted the year 2009 with the catastrophic effect left by Bagyong Ondoy in Manila. This was the worst flooding I've ever seen which left many filipinos dead, missing and displaced. Let's hope that we have learned something from it and make necessary solutions to prevent it from happening again.

3. Pres. Well, last year, I also wrote about this guy who just defeated the bigger and heftier Dela Hoya. Again, he made us proud by keeping on winning against other boxers. As I said before, he is the only reason I watch boxing.

Guess, that's all I can think of significant events that transpired during the year 2009. In a few days now, you will be celebrating your 1st year anniversary. I know I am not as active blogger as I should be and I do apologize for that. I was really having a hard time finding some time to put an entry every single day. I know that there are important months like December which I left no entry. I am sorry for that, I guess a lot of things happened the past months that kept me from sitting down and write about it.

This year, I am hoping that this would be a better year for me. I am actually excited this year than i was last year. I am looking forward to do more productive things and my main mission is to make a schedule to review for the whole year including summer and sem breaks. I need to start doing things as early as now since preparation is always the key in taking big career and life-changing exams.

Again, same old new year's resolution for me. To be healthy and go on a diet, eliminate those unwanted fats and go back to some active lifestyles that i used to do. I really hope I could keep it this time. I am hoping that I'll be able to climb Mt. Apo this year. I started doing climbing and trekking over at Epol (my second time and yet to write about it), though the experience was remarkable, I think that I still need to do a lot of those to survive the Apo trip.

I am wishing that we could make our environment clean. I am doing my part and wish everybody could do the same. It is not unlikely that the movie 2012 or anything close to it will happen.

It is the year of the Tiger, let's growl louder and the year color is blue, my favorite color, i really hope it is my year!

Happy New Year Dropping in, Dropping Out!

So just not to leave the month of October empty from any post, I pasted the about me page on my Friendster account.

Here it is...

There's something about describing myself which makes me uneasy. Maybe because after years of existence, i still do not know a lot of things about me. But I guess, that's the fun part, discovering new things which I did not know existed. That probably is what makes me enjoy this life more.

A little info about me is the fact that I am insatiable. i thought i would never get over things that i was addicted into for a month but i was wrong. A month after, i would go gaga over other things and so on...

oh, maybe there's one that i am
fixated-watching cartoons and playing computer and arcade games..boy, the older i get, the fascination grew even more.

I like to discover and learn new things. this one trait i like about myself. i always wanted to try doing something fresh.

I love my family. My parents and siblings and my new interests-my 2 nieces! don't fret, theres another one coming! when you grow older, you realized how much of an impact a familiy is in you. They're my backbone that keeps me straight up.

My friends are one source of inspiration. Life, party, heartaches and happy moments would be useless if they are not around.

Guess, that's all i can think of as for now. As said, i am still discovering new things about me. glad for you to read.u

I noticed that there was a light rain and it was a gloomy morning. I checked on my email and Facebook and I found out that the UAAP basketball finals was cancelled due to typhoon. I thought that it was the usual typhoon that flood Metro Manila-as always.

I was preparing for school late that morning when I opened the Television and saw the heavy rains upnorth being telecast. Here in South, we only experienced isolated rainfall suffice to say I was not really materially injured.

I went to school and the rain was sort of becoming light to medium showers. My friends and I were enjoying the weather because it was a good day for talks and discussions. While we were doing group talks, my classmate mentioned that the Bar Exam will be cancelled because of flood. It did not really bothered how catastrophic the typhoon was until I went home that night and saw the news.

I was tuned in to ANC (ABS-CBN News Channel), when a celebrity named Chrisitne Reyes was interviewed and was crying for help. She was on the roof of her house and desperately needs help. It was quite a shock on my part upon realizing how enormous the flooding would be considering that people on that village opted to stay on the roof and even saying that if the rain would not stop they would likely be drowned. When an aerial view was shown on TV, it seemed that Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon were covered with waters. The only thing that can be clearly seen were roofs and some people. It was an unbelievable sight.

Honestly, it was the worst flooding I ever saw in my life. True, I was not there to experience it firsthand but seeing those victims lost their homes, crying for help, etc. were enough for me to realize how bad the effects of the typhoon was. I was also worried of some friends who are living in the north. All that I can do was to pray for their safety.

Now we can all agree that this is one of the consequences of not taking care of our environment. Landslides and flashfloods which are caused by typhoons and heavy rains which also results to the loss of life and properties. Garbage thrown anywhere which clogged the drainage contributes to flood, inundation, overflowing of rivers, etc. Who's to blame on this? Some people blame the government for not putting much emphasis on flood control projects and other environment-friendly projects. I would say blame it to discipline, for being not part of us. We could not just put the fault on the government and to other people. It is too bad that we (that includes me) get to have these sentiments when a disaster or tragedy happens. Maybe because this is the only time that we get to be reminded by God and Nature that we are just human and we do not control everything. That, we do not have the power to abuse and destroy our environment because when mother nature strikes back, we definitely are nothing but a mere unimportant living creature being wiped out.

As for today, Typhoon Ondoy's rampage left 73 deaths and counting for there are still who are missing and leaving thousands of people homeless and displaced.

***All photos from pinoyexchange.com
