There he was online, so I messaged him what’s up giving him a chance to explain himself…*crickets*Asked for a refund and gave him a chance for an explanations again..*the sound of crickets*.

So what’s the purpose of this post? It’s pretty simple, I don’t want you to fall into the same trap as me. Save your money for someone that won’t leave you high and dry. I lost $300 with Simon Zajdela but it could of been much worse. The total job price was $1300, imagine if I were to pay half that?

So how do you find the right developer?

I found that hiring offshore is risky business, yes it cheaper but at what price? My advise is to find a coder you can actually call and spend some time talking with your coder on the phone. You may pay a little more with someone in the states but you get communication and reliability in return. This extra little work will pay off in the end.

- give them a simple task first before having them do a bigger task

Adobe announced at the GSMA Mobile that indeed Flash 10 will be available for smartphones sometime in 2010. Flash is definitely something I wanted for my smartphone (iPhone) but knew that according to mobile developers that since it is an active X application, there are many security exploits that can be passed via Flash. Probably a bigger concern that Flash is a system hog and simply does not make sense to place it in a mobile device.

XML flash templates are very popular due to the fact that it makes it extremely easy to edit your flash template. Of course we always support the source .fla file as well, but the advantage of XML flash templates is the ability to modify the template without Flash. So what can you modify using the including XML document?

These are standard aspects of a flash template that you can change but not limited. For example, you can control the length of MP3 or Video by entering the duration length in the XML. Remember though, not all XML documents are not created equally so do email specific question about the product XML and its actions.

FLV Videos can handle the obvious .flv format, .mov encoded with the H.264 codec and mp4. It is important to note that having your .mov, mpeg videos encoded with H.264 is extremely important. Most people though convert videos to .flv as the video seems to stream faster and is smaller in size thus speeding up downloading. Not sure what his fascination is with duct tape is but if you are going to be into something, it might as well be duct tape, I don’t know how many times I needed it in my life. The dude admits he smells funny and is proud of it…I like him all ready. I stumbled on his blog months ago and read his blog posts about Event Dispatchers in AS3, I thought to myself this is one intelligent dude so I contacted him. I soon realized this guy is a bigger night owl than me, how he does it I don’t know. I guess creative minds never truly sleep.

Photoscatter Born, It’s Alive

After chatting with him, I employed him and began working on some fun stuff. The first thing we worked on was the photoscatter module that is mega cool. It’s a dynamic image gallery that mimics a bunch of polaroids layed out on a table. You can throw them around and stack them. I directed the artistic side, he coded it. (Yeah, he did the hard part) The project was developed using Flex. Take A look.

80% of people that have a computer use a PC, now that’s a serious number. So who’s in that 80%? Geeks? Not just them, but people of all walks of life around the world use a PC not just PC Guy in the Apple commercials. Macs are not going anywhere but perhaps the marketing tactics may shift into a different direction not trying to stereotype PC users and the machines itself. 

Taking The High Road With Class

This PC ad was well made as I think Microsoft took the high road and presented it with class. Microsoft could have fought back sticking jabs at Apple, but why? Apple chose to take aim at Windows with all those Mac ads and although they were funny, it just seemed childish. I always though as Microsoft being the big brother being nagged by the younger one. The big brother just stands there silent knowing the proof is in the pudding, still… provoke the big bro long enough and well.

PC Is The Majority

It’s true whether you like it or not, and this ad just reminds us that most of us use a PC. There are several reasons why it is from its readily availability, common use, or business compatibility. I personally use a PC because well, I run a business. It is extremely important to me to have access to all the design and work programs made available, and most third party programs are made for PC. Macs are great machines don’t get me wrong, but I need a machine that can handle business along with games, oops…Mac won’t run the games I play.

I’m A PC Ad Just Reminds Us of It’s Vast User Base 

Remember that Mac ad that shows PC on a throne? These numbers are very telling but perhaps this isn’t breaking news to the Apple camp but Microsoft wanted to remind everyone that hey, your not a geek for owning a PC and forget the stereotyping Apple tries hard to place on PC users. 

Apple Will Show It’s Dominance When…

I guess I will tip my cap when I start seeing the Apple logo in bank, grocery, and federal terminals. IBM is the backbone while Macs caters to the entertainment type systems, I like playing around with iTunes and maybe editing a video or 2. In the end, it really depends what you are into. Are you a video or music producer? Do you own your own bank and need a network? Do you just want a machine to hold your music and check email? All I can is it all depends on what you want to do.

The Ad shows user versatility and that not all PC users are geeks like me, heck…if PC is good for NASA, then I’m A-OK with it.

I received an anonymous IM from somebody that claimed to work for the Mobileme department from Apple. Apparently Steve Jobs cut several positions from the Mobileme project due to the bad take off, this person was one of them. I can only guess that this employee got his hands on some insider info and decided to leak it, this is my assumption. From of the look at this leaked ad, it shows a few new aspects for the touch

- Upgraded capacity to 64gb
- Wireless Sync
- Bluetooth
- 3G
- External Speaker
- Cut and Paste
- Camera
- GPS

I see a calendar icon as a feature but don’t understand new calendar features they have implemented.

No news on when it will be launched, but interestingly enough, the file name is called “touch_ad_1030re” so maybe a late October launch? All I know is that if this leaked ad is the real deal, I will have no problem spending serious coin for this. The current 32gb is simply not enough for me and I don’t want to “pick and choose” which music to carry with me, I want my entire library with me.

I wanted more info from this person, but I was blocked via IM shortly after I received the ad. I have no idea why the person sent me the ad, maybe it was a past client of mine, just stumped. Personally, I did not want to spread the word myself and thought about contacting Macrumors.com (I eventually did) but decided to post it myself as well.

The original image size of the image is 982×555 so I apologize for the scaled down version. I have my doubts this is real simply because it’s so close to the iPhone in options, so why cut into the iPhone world so much?  But then again, if this legit Apple is going to make a killing on this new Touch.
