Is your toddler giving signs that he or she is ready to start potty learning? Usually this starts happening around age two- but can also happen as

late as three or three and a half. Some of our customers ask us what we recommend for helping kids potty learning.

My #1 (sorry for the pun) suggestion is to use potty training underwear that feels wet when your child has an accident. This wet feeling doesn’t occur with washable trainers lined with polyester fabric or store-bought disposable trainers. (Not even with the so-called “wet” strips”.) A wet feeling is felt when your child pees on natural fibers like cotton or hemp. I’ve tried potty trainers that just have an indicator or that feel damp, and they just didn’t help with training. It is that wet feeling of the accident that helps to your child to learn.
We’ve used and highly recommend cotton training pants like Imse Vimse Organic Trainers or Blueberry Trainers. Although they don’t hold a full-size accident “as-is”, you can simply line them with a hemp insert like Hemp Babies Hemp/Organic Cotton Doublers, and the trainer will hold everything just fine. (Two of these particular inserts may be necessary fo heavy wetters.) When your child wets, he will really feel that he had an accident. Most children don’t like that wet feeling and this will encourage them to make it to the potty.
These brands don’t have snapping sides, but they are stretchy and easily pull down from a standing position without getting legs dirty if there is a #2 accident. Then, when your child is more potty trained, remove the hemp inserts and these trainers feel like real undies and he can pull them up and down himself. Being self-sufficient is also a big motivator for a lot of kids to potty train.

These washable trainers save money compared to the cost of pull-ups, and they easily wash in your washing machine.

Add a potty chart with a little reward of some sort for doing a good job, and you’ll being have dry days in no time!

Hi Friends!

I want to let you know about these amazing lunch boxes that are designed by a mom, here in Southern California!

Go Green Lunch Boxes are a healthy way to pack food for school, office, picnics, or travel. They are equipped with food containers that encourage the packing of fresh foods instead of prepackaged foods. They have room for a sandwich, fresh fruit, snacks, and come with a stainless steel drink container. The boxes are insulated, have a net for a freezer pack, a name tag, and a place to write messages, too!

Good for the whole family, including baby food! They are made with BPA-free plastic and silicone seals the compartments, so they can contain all kinds of food including baby food, apple sauce and yogurt.

By packing fresh foods instead of packaged food you eat healthier, save the landfill from waste, and save a lot of money too! The boxes pay for themselves in just a month of use.

I’m getting one for each of us and some additional boxes and drink containers.

Deanne Perry is offering her next monthly cloth diaper class on Saturday, July 18th from 10-12pm, here in Temecula, CA.

If you are new to cloth diapering and are looking for an in-depth look at cloth diapers, this is the class for you! Find out what all the rage is about with modern cloth diapers. They are easy to use, eco-friendly, and can save you $1,000 a year on diapering costs- including detergent, utilities, and water. Yes! $1,000 a year, all said and done! (You’ll also save the landfills from thousands of disposable diapers that don’t decompose!)

Get a first-hand look at dozens of the most popular cloth diapers offered today; learn how to use them, find out how to care for them- and how easy it all really is! AND they are so cute and super soft on your baby’s skin. Many diapers can be matched your baby’s outfits. You’ll feel as though you are truly wrapping your baby in the most luxurious diapers there are with today’s bamboo velour and organic cotton fabrics.

Please send her an email or call her at (951)663-5206 if you are interested in joining the class. She’d love to have you over! This class is always informative and fun. Also, see her at the Temecula Farmers’ Market every Wednesday at the Promenade Mall 9-1pm!
