Thanks. My client actually called Dell and they wanted to send a tech out and install a new hard drive, LOL. I knew there was an easy fix. I love Dell’s but they can be idiots…

I had the same thing happen to me. I plugged in my phone to my work computer, and I guess it tried to associate it with that machine. I’ve done this many times before without any issues, so why this happened this time is beyond me. My fix was to update an app that was ready for an update, once I entered my password all the 3rd party apps started working…Thanks for the article!

Our 2yr old pushed the button on dad’s laptop. Looks like a HOUSE. Brilliant.

When the thing couldn’t boot Windows we were sure it was hosed. Thank you thank you thank you thank you for posting the solution – saved our skins.

(And shame on Dell. I mean, really, making it possible to ‘crash’ your system when it’s turned off by the push of a single button.)

I agree. It had me scratching my head as well. I am also bummed that it counts on average time on site, so you have to look at your page stats to get a real feel for the use of your site, if you have one-off articles.

Wow. This is a major relief to read. I was puzzled with average time on site being nearer 8 min and an abundance of 00:00:00 at the same time.

ouch. sorry to hear that. we almost did that as well. the button push was a last minute idea before the restore.

on a side note, does anybody know why i cannot use punctuation or capital letters when responding on my mobile phone? at least any that require a meta key?
