Under my responsibilities falls the website and social media. Our webmaster Mark has an office near mine, So I hear some of the requests he gets,Most of the requests seem t be only abstract concepts. He does a great job of deciphering their concepts to actual pages.

It’s not like I want to aggravate my wife or my kids, I can’t help it in the least. It’s just a part of my nature, I need help. This was form Sunday night. My wife wnated to read befor she went to sleep, a usual. Sh mad eit plain, she wnated osme alone tim.e of course that when I thought of all th important things I needed to tell her.I was pushing my luck and I knew it. Finally it was clear I needed to leave. she was nice about, nicer than i was being.

Walking to Lunch

Last week I started to walk to get lunch instead of driving. IT’s been about 10 days, and according to my Fit Bit. I’ve walked over 50 miles. Nearly everyday one of the nice people I work with stop and offer me a ride. Iry, I’m enjoying it and have lost a few pounds. I also started a diet and working in some exercise. I’m just tired of being so fat. I used to be so thin and didn’t even try, I just was. Darn you middle age!

The Puddle

Lest you think I enjoyed Gracie getting hurt, I did not. I felt lower than whale poop.

I didn’t push her hard just enough to what I hoped would make her step in the puddle. For the same reason I drive bear sprinklers and lower that side’s windows.

Grace hit the ground hard. I did run home to get the car so she didn’t have to walk.
I withdrew my nomination for dad of the year.

Measuring Up

Last week I did a toon that stepped on a few toes. Today’s may do that as well, It’s never my intention to do that, but if it happens I hope it makes a point at least. We have about 100 users at work, so if we roll any hardware or software out we potentially have to multiply the cost by 100. So even at $100 dollars, you are talking $10,000. I would love nothing more than to give every user the latest greatest of everything as soon as it is available. It’s just not in my budget. In the corporate world it is even harsher than what we do. Most of the corporate place I worked at, would smile or laugh if you asked for anything extra and pat you on the head.

Joining a Gang

Ever since my co-worker James got his Scooter, I’ve been saying we should start a biker gang. My wife would be ok if I got a motorcycle, but not sure my Mom would ok it. The weather is getting warmer so James is riding his scooter to work again. I heard a coworker asking him about the scooter and I let James know this guy would not be allowed admittance to our gang.
Last year in Hawaii, on Oahu we saw a group of young men riding scooter, some even smaller than the one James rides. We joked about being intimidated by them. If James and I formed a gang I’m pretty sure we’d intimidate …..no one.
One last thing, you can’t join our gang either, sorry.

Going Over My Head

Not everyone does this, but it is a regular occurence. We have 100 user’s, so anything I do for a user I have to potentially multiply by 100. Whether it’s a new PC or a bigger monitor. We have policies in place and it’s my job to tow the line. My boss is awesome, she backs me all the time. Her office is right outside my office, so I can see folks go visit her, usually right after I say no. Like most any office there is sense of entitlement, it seems the sense of entitlement is directly proportional to their rank. Our admins rarely go over my head, usually they just go and tell their bosses I gave them an answer they didn’t want to hear.

Disorder

My youngest has girl at school, who’s life mission seems to be to make her miserable. The poor girl has had a tough life, but my little girl is one of the sweetest people on this earth. She even has started making excuses for this girl. She was told she has a disorder, we don’t know what kind. Post dramatic, might be right. There is a disorder to excuse every behavior these days.
