I finally got the new My Digital Studio, SU!'s digital paper-crafting solution, uploaded onto my computer and got my first project done. What fun!
This is a card I made using pictures from our recent trip to a local pumpkin farm. I think it would make a fabulous scrapbooking page, too. That may be my next project.
This program does soooooo much. Cards, scrapbook pages ... you can even make multi-media projects with it!
I am certain that one of the ways I'll use this program is make a "draft" of a card or scrapbook page before I start cutting paper. I think I'll be saving a lot of paper with this program!

In my last post I showed you a Christmas card made with the cute little Dasher stamp shown on the last page of the catalog. I just love the Dasher image and I couldn't wait to use some hostess credit to get this Dasher Decor Element. Isn't it beautiful?!
I bought the frame (16 x 20") at a local craft store, adhered the Chocolate Chip Dasher Decor Element to the glass, and then added our beautiful 1 1/4" Chocolate Chip striped grosgrain ribbon. The ribbon adds just the right touch, don't you think?

First, a disclaimer: I did not make this card. It is from the demostrator side of the SU! website. I liked it so much, I just had to share it with you. This card uses the Dasher stamp set (last page of the catalog) and the Holiday Lounge designer series paper (pg. 162). The greeting is from the Christmas Greetings stamp set on page 28 of the catalog.

Here's one of the cards we made on Friday night. We had a great time! E-mail me to join us for the next Christmas card class on November 20th!
TUTORIAL: PACKING TAPE AND GLITTER.
Step 1: Stamp images for the top layer of your card.
Step 2, Using the 1 1/4" circle punch, punch out a portion of the image (this part will be colored later).
Step 3: Using the 1 3/8" circle punch, go back and punch around the first punched hole, making it larger (this will produce a small ring, which you can discard or use on another card).
This is what you'll have after you've used both circle punches:
Step 4: Color the image on the piece that has been punched out.
Step 5: Place (but do not adhere) the top layer of the card onto the next layer (in this case, the white piece is the top layer and the gray piece is the next (or second) layer). You're just putting it there so you can see where to correctly put the colored circle back into place.
Step 6: Put adhesive on the back of the punched out (and now colored) circle piece and place it into the back into place, lining up the petals of the poinsettia. Press down on the circle to adhere into place.
Step 7: Lift the top layer, leaving the circle adhered into place
Step 8: Place the top layer face down and place a piece of packing tape over the hole.
(Look closely to see the tape over the hole - sorry it doesn't show so well in the picture).
Step 9: Flip the top piece back over, exposing the sticky side of the packing tape, and sprinkle glitter on the tape.
Step 10: Adhere the top layer to the next layer down.
Finish your card by adhering all the layers together and adding ribbon or other embellishments!

Here's my first project using the new Shimmer Paints in the Holiday Mini Catalog. What fun, and the paint dries much more quickly than I thought it would.
My club members made this card today. We used the Platinum Shimmer Paint. To use the Shimmer Paints with your stamps, just shake the paint bottle and open the lid. Dip a sponge dauber in the paint that's stuck to the inside of the lid, dab it on your stamp and stamp it on your paper as usual. A stunning effect!

Carstock colors: Kraft, Not Quite Navy
Inks: Platinum Shimmer Paint
