Bravo, Angela, for providing a forum we can use to voice our concerns today. I worry a lot anyway, but lately it’s getting so terrible, since my son and daughter-in-law gave me a beautiful granddaughter last May. Her name is ~C, and she is the light of my life. All children are the future, and I wonder what will happen if we can’t get our leaders back in line, and get logic back to Washington. I resent being called a racist by the media for standing up and wondering what is going on !! The current administration seems to be only interested in one thing, and that is to bring down our country. We must be vigilant and stay informed and aware. Thanks again. Keep up the good work. ~LA

Clearly Sarah Palin Going Rogue is a Nightmare for Sarah Palin haters. I can’t stop laughing about it because I just LOVE that she says what’s on her mind, how she sees the issues, and now she’s filling in the blanks that the left would LOVE to keep covered up. (News Media Too!) Ha Ha Ha! Keep up the good work Sarah Palin. Kudos for speaking your mind. Kudos for being the strong woman that you are and for standing your ground.

Someone was telling me that the 50+ recommendation for Breast Cancer Screening is not new. As far as I’ve always known it has always been 40+ as long as there was not a family history of breast cancer so I’m sharing links.

CDC.gov > Kinds of Screening Tests: “Mammogram. A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast. Mammograms are the best method to detect breast cancer early when it is easier to treat and before it is big enough to feel or cause symptoms. Having regular mammograms can lower the risk of dying from breast cancer. If you are age 40 years or older, be sure to have a screening mammogram every one to two years.”

AHRQ > Screening for Breast Cancer: The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends screening mammography, with or without clinical breast examination, every 1-2 years for women aged 40 and older.

American Cancer Society > Their site is currently down I would imagine because they are getting hit pretty hard for the key words breast cancer screening. I’m telling you that this 50+ recommendation that is out now is NEW and unwarranted. Why do you think everybody is up in arms over this subject?

I didn’t know they were changing Mammograms to every other year. I always thought it was to be done once every year when you go in for your exam. One thing that this article stated that I agree with is this: “Different organizations, based on a review of the same data, may recommend either yearly or every other year screening for women at average risk of breast cancer between the ages of 40-75. We believe that the timing of assessment is best left to a woman and her health care provider. We call upon third party payers to fund annual mammography if a woman and her health care provider opt for this approach.”

Insurance companies don’t make breast cancer screening recommendations. Doctors do. Insurance companies set their own guidelines for what they will pay, how they will pay it, and who gets covered under their insurance plans.

If you are a woman and are reading this post I sure hope that you are not going to wait until you are 50 years old to have your first mammogram. I hope you are doing self breast examinations too. If you have a family history of breast cancer then you need a more aggressive screening plan that goes above and beyond anyone’s recommendations.

If something doesn’t feel right do talk to your doctor and don’t listen to what anybody out there is saying because people under the age of 40 get diagnosed with breast cancer a lot.

I never thought I’d see this headline, but it is real: “Planned Parenthood Director Quits After Watching Abortion on Ultrasound.”

Abby Johnson, 29, worked at a southeast Texas Planned Parenthood clinic for 8 years, the last two as its director. She was, in her own words, extremely “pro-choice.” What changed her was watching a video of an ultrasound of an actual abortion. She watched a fetus “crumple” as it was vacuumed out of a patient’s uterus in September. That was the turning point for her. She has since stayed home to raise her 3 year old daughter.

Here’s a very important point: all activist groups change the wording of their identity or actions in order to temper the emotional response of others, and in so doing, gain acceptance. “Abortion” became “CHOICE.” Well, everyone likes to have choices – that was a brilliant technique to obscure the facts that a human being is dismembered, crumpled, and sucked with a vacuum out of her mother’s body into a container or sink and ultimately eliminated as an issue in the life of the mother-who-was (versus mother-to-be).

But this was not the only problem for Abby Johnson. She says that since revenues were down, she was ordered several times by her bosses to increase profits by performing more and more abortions, which cost patients between $500 and $700. “It’s a very lucrative business, and that’s why they want to increase numbers,” she is quoted as saying.

Planned Parenthood likes to talk about abortions being only a small part of Planned Parenthood’s activities. Planned Parenthood likes to say that its focus is on prevention. Johnson’s reply? “For them, there’s not a lot of money in education. There’s not as much money in family planning as there is in abortion.”

Johnson also said, “Ideally, my goal as the facility’s director is that your abortion numbers don’t increase, because you’re providing so much family planning and so much education that there is not a demand for abortion services. But that was not their goal.”

Can you say “whistleblower?”

Planned Parenthood’s response? Guess! You’re wrong. They got a temporary restraining order against Ms. Johnson and the Coalition for Life (an anti-abortion group with which Johnson is now affiliated, and which is located just down the block from this Planned Parenthood clinic).

Why a restraining order? Simple….they don’t want the truth to be spoken, and isn’t that “telling.”

I thought about posting an image for this topic and decided it was WAY too graphic and horrifying to do to my readers. Not to mention the fact that I know many of you have children that could walk by at any moment and see the pictures. That wouldn’t be cool at all.

When your kids are in bed tonight and you are sure they are asleep, go to google and search out keyword “abortion” – then I want you to select the image option. Those of you that think it’s ok and that it’s up to the woman to choose because it is her body and that trumps the life of the unborn – soak up the photos and then think again.

You shouldn’t have a problem with it, right? You can take it. You can handle the photos of fetuses that have been chopped up and bloodied ready for the trash bin, sink or plastic contamination bin where one might dump hazardous waste materials.

There are women out there that have had abortions and have done a complete 180 degree turn around. There are people that have worked for Planned Parenthood just like that gal described over on Dr. Laura’s blog that have changed their minds.

If you are “Pro-Choice” I think you should stop and really THINK about why you are “Pro-Choice” and not “Pro-Life.” Is it because you have had an abortion and the guilt is too overwhelming?

It’s never too late to turn it around. Don’t insist on a phrase that works to increase abortion numbers. Abortion on Demand is not the way to help somebody that has found themselves in a tough situation. Two wrongs don’t make it right. Give these beautiful babies REAL CHOICES and let them LIVE!

Obama Urges Congress to Delay Fort Hood Investigation

All of the law enforcement agencies should be investigating this and if congress has a way in which they can help then they should all be working together to get this investigation over and done. What is Obama’s problem? He told lawmakers, “resist the temptation to turn this tragic event into the political theater.” Are you kidding me?

Obama will not send more troops to Afghanistan and now he doesn’t want this Fort Hood investigation? What is he thinking? Why should congress hold off on their investigation when all the agencies could be working together?

Lawmakers, however, already have announced they want their own investigations and were frustrated with what they view as a less-than-forthcoming administration.

Do you blame them? How does this look when the President of the United States tells law makers to back off? That is not right. It’s as if he doesn’t want us to get to the bottom of what happened on our own soil. How is getting answers and finding out what is going on political theater? Isn’t that was he is doing by telling them not to investigate? Isn’t that in itself political theater?

They have to investigate NOW and do so while the iron is still HOT. Why would he ever ask for a delay? You know… it kinda makes sense now why he is not sending the troops that the boots on the ground are asking for. What is our president doing? It seems as if he is more concerned with his celebrity than he is doing what needs to be done to get the job done.

Political theater my butt. Obama is more concerned with his celebrity than with running this country. I wouldn’t be surprised if secretly, deep down, he wants to run the world. Celebrity will get him there too. I think he’s absolutely crazy to tell congress to hold off on investigating. Same thing goes for his delay in sending troops that are needed to Afghanistan.

It has been confirmed that this guy Hasan was in talks with radical Muslim groups and no one did a damn thing and now Obama wants to still have nothing done! Why? Is it because he’s trying to be politically correct? Is it because he has ties to the radical Muslim world?

Last time I checked the Department of Homeland Security has every right to conduct their investigation NOW while the evidence is fresh and new. There is no time to waste! This massacre, terrorist act, happened on our soil. We have a right to know what happened, who did it, why did they do it, and who the connections are? ALL of the agencies have a right to connect the dots and Barack Obama is the one that should butt out of the process. If anything he should be giving all of the agencies his 100% unconditional support!

I watched this interview between Larry King and Carrie Prejean. She was on the show to promote her book Still Standing. I was folding laundry while I was watching and was able to catch the entire episode. The clip on my post is only part of the interview.

Let me just say that Larry King was awfully pushy with Carrie. In the beginning she was very nice to him and she was clear about not being able to talk about what was discussed in mediation. She explained it to him on national television that everything discussed in mediation she was not allowed to talk about at all.

So what does Larry King do? He disguises his question by asking about what led up to the mediation. Well obviously if Carrie Prejean were to talk about what led up to the mediation then she would be revealing what was discussed in mediation. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure THAT one out.

So basically Larry King thinks he can get around the confidentiality clause by rephrasing his question. Oh please! Everybody can see what he was doing including Carrie! So she let him know, “Larry you are being inappropriate.” She had to tell him that over and over again because he wasn’t getting it. Duh!?

Clearly all of this was discussed and agree upon or she would not have gone on the Larry King show to discuss her book Still Standing.

I don’t blame Carrie Prejean for wanting to leave the show. Do you? Obviously the lawyer was in the background advising her because Larry King allowed a caller to call in, who happened to be gay with an agenda. Apparently that was agreed upon as a condition to being on the show. Her lawyer did not want her taking any phone calls. Doesn’t Larry King get briefed before he formulates his questions?

Oh and then the questions towards the end, which are not on the video above were absolutely ridiculous. He asked her if she was planning to run for President of the United States. Are you kidding me? What made Larry King think that it would be appropriate to ask her THAT question?

The only reason I stayed on CNN was to see what Carrie Prejean had to say about her book. I was also interested to see what Larry King’s take would be and how he would treat her. You can bet it didn’t take me long to flip the switch and go back to Fox News.
