Finding a Business Analyst

There are times when a business starts to lose money and no-one is sure where the problem is located. Going over facts and figures only points to the bottom line. The bottom line continues to shrink. People start to get desperate. Strategies are planned and implemented to no avail. Tried and true measures are no longer working. It is time to call on the experts. The business analyst needs to be brought in. The problem is finding one who knows the company.

Finding a good business analyst is not as hard as everyone thinks. They are not the enemy. They are not some eerie creature sneaking around, lurking behind every corner. A good business analyst is a creative thinker. He or she is a motivational, aggressive team player. The business analyst can gather data and other pertinent information from management and other sources to determine what is the key problem.

A qualified business analyst may already exist in your organization. A member of the IT department could be the one who develops a project program designed to save the company money. This is some one capable of setting up a development team to think outside the box. You are looking for someone creative. You want someone who is not afraid of a vision. Someone with good communication skills is a must. Most projects fall short due to the lack of communication.

It is actually a benefit to choose someone in-house. He or she already knows the company. The business analyst will know the strong attributes as well as weaknesses of the company. Choosing someone from inside the organization means he or she will know the people involved. Camaraderie may already exist. This can make the gathering of information easier. The more easy it is to collect needed data and information, the more quickly a project scope can be developed.

The best business analyst will be able to speak the language of which ever department he or she needs to interact with. He or she will not get caught sidetracked with mundane tasks and mute points. The business analyst will know what information is needed and get it. They will keep the big picture in mind. They will motivate others to stay on task. A good business analyst will allow someone the freedom of creativity. Obviously what was being done did not work. A new approach is needed and the qualified business analyst will see this.

Someone who can develop a repoire with the departments to meet expectations is the perfect candidate for business analyst. This person will act as a liaison between management and development teams. He or she should be able to speak with authority while still maintaining a level of respect. The perfect business analyst will be able to foresee problems which may arise between teams and squelch them before they start.

A liaison between involved departments, a leader during meetings, a project developer, and a numbers cruncher are all beneficial attributes of a good business analyst. Find someone capable of doing all these things and you have found a great asset.

Raise Your Banner High!

Whether you have a brick and mortar shop, offer consulting or other services, are an artist, photographer, or author, in today’s marketplace you must have a website.

Like it or not, make many or no sales from the Internet – it doesn’t matter. In today’s society if someone has heard about you by referral or publicity the first thing they’ll do is go on the Internet to find you. Now they may have no intention of dealing with you or your company on the net, but if you don’t have a web page for your company you’ll lose credibility with the prospect.

We live in an “instant” society. Instant coffee, drive through restaurants, on-line banking, and a mind-set of “I want it when I want it and not when you’re open”. So when a prospective client wants information about you or your services they’ll look for your web page at a time convenient to them.

That being said and assuming you have a website on the Internet, are you making use of “Banner” advertising? There are many pros and cons about banner ads on sites, and you can get as many opinions about them as there are grains of sand on the beach. They are something to be considered though, and here are 10 killer tips to insure your viewers will click on them:

1. USE REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY – Tell people not to click on your banner. For example, “Don’t Click Here If You Have More Customers Than You Can Serve.”

2. USE ATTRACTIVE AD WORDS – Use words like ultimate, powerful, sizzling, hot, etc. Your words should relate to and highlight your total offer.

3. OFFER A DISCOUNT ON IT – People are always looking for good deals. You could offer a percentage discount, dollar discount, buy one get one free discount, etc.

4. USE IT FOR A TESTIMONIAL – Put a testimonial on the banner and give people proof they aren’t wasting their time clicking on the ad. The testimonial should include enough information so that they understand the offer.

5. USE A FAMOUS/RESPECTED PERSON – If you’re fortunate enough to have a friend or colleague that is known by the public, have them represent your product, site or service. People will click because they’ll trust them over you.

6. USE A STRONG GUARANTEE – You could include the guarantee as a headline for your offer. It could read double or triple your money back guarantee, lifetime money back guarantee, etc.

7. TELL PEOPLE TO CLICK HERE – Newbies to the Internet may not even know they can click on banners. Just having the phrase “click here” on your banner will increase your clickthroughs.

8. ADVERTISE A SAMPLE – Advertising a trial or sample offer will tell people there’s no risk or obligation if they click on your banner ad and try out your product or service.

9. BENEFITS, BENEFITS – Tell people the major benefit to them of your product/site/service on your banner ad. It could be benefits like make money, increase energy, save time, save money, etc.

10. FREE IS A MAGNETIC WORD – You could advertise a “free” offer on your banner. People love “free stuff” but the freebie should relate to your target audience. For example, if I’m offering a book I’ve authored for sale on my site I wouldn’t offer a free sample of chocolate chip cookies. What I would offer free would be a download from my site of the first chapter and the Table of Contents page. This would give them the chance to see if the book meets their needs, and also act as an incentive to get their hands on the rest of the story by buying the whole book.

If you design your banner ads with a purpose, they won’t be viewed as a nuisance to your website visitor. Rather, they’ll see them as benefiting them with additional information or offers. Do you need help with how to create your own banners? Take a quick trip over to www.mynitch.com/dreamweaver for their easy to follow video training series. They also offer great advertising packages for your banner ads. You can register for a chance to win 5,000 Free Monthly Banners at www.mynitch.com/banners

Don’t confuse “banner” ads with what is called “pop-ups”. They are two very different ad types and “pop-ups” are annoying to web page viewers. The one thing you definitely don’t want to do, is to annoy and discourage the prospect that is viewing your web page. He/she could be your next client.

Small Business Owners: Should Your Hire the Services of a Professional Organizer?

Are you a small business owner who just recently started to see success or profits? If so, how easy is it for you to run your business, from a management standpoint? Unfortunately, not all small business owners, especially new ones, are prepared for success. That is why many small business owners end up getting in over the heads, especially when it comes to keeping all of their business records in order. Of course, you can take the time to get yourself organized, but if you are like many other disorganized small business owners, you may end up right back where you started in as little as a few days. For that reason, you may want to think about hiring the services of a professional organizer.

When it comes to hiring the services of a professional organizer, there are many individuals who wonder exactly what one is. Just as the title sounds, a professional organizer is an individual who not only has experience with getting and staying organized, but experience with helping others do so as well. At first glance, hiring the services of a professional organizer may seem a little bit silly or ridiculous to you, but it is actually something that you should look into a little bit more.

When it comes to hiring the services of a professional organizer, if you want to do so, you will need to find a professional organizer to do business with. Most professional organizers are small business owners themselves. Many actually end up advertising their services online or in local newspapers. When finding a professional organizer to do business with, you may want to think about examining the number of small business owners, like you, that they have helped to train, the number of years experience they have teaching organizational skills and such. Cost of training should also be examined.

Once you have found a professional organizer to do business with, it may be a little bit easier for you to understand how the process works. One of the reasons for that is because different professional organizers work in different ways. For instance, there are some that come in and organize your office without any help from you. This is done by creating a detailed map or by labeling every box and drawer. There are other professional organizers who work with you to organize your small business, particularly your office. This is nice because it also gives you the opportunity to know, firsthand, where everything is. Also, you may learn some neat tips from your professional organizer at the same time.

As a reminder, the hiring of a professional organizer is something that is optional, but it is something that you may want to look into a little bit more. When it comes to running a small business, it is important that you keep accurate records of your business. These records may be needed to obtain more financing in the future or to have your taxes prepared. Not knowing where all of your important documents are can spell big trouble. For instance, if you were trying to claim a business trip as a business expense, but you couldn’t find the trip receipts, you would have to lose out on a moneysaving tax deduction. That is why it is important that your small business paperwork is always up-to-date and organized.

It’s hard to find a supplier that will move mountains for you, but you need to look at it in two different lights. If you are nice to your suppliers and you are able to build a trusting relationship, both of you can benefit. There is a reason for a supplier to go the extra mile for your event and it comes in the form of good reputations and recommendations. However, you need to build a trusting relationship by using the one supplier each time. After use, they will know you better and care for you. Regulars always get the special treatment, but you have to build the trust the get that type of supplier.

You should know that your supplier wants to build relationships with its clients. This is important because you are already half way to building a trusting and strong tie. The other part depends on you. You have to explain what you want, but go about it in a good way. Don’t call them upset because something didn’t work out. That is when you talk in a low and calm voice and ask what can be done.

To get a supplier that will move mountains for you, you have to realize the difference between being nice and kissing up. You don’t need to kiss up, but you need to be respectful and show some curtsey. You can say things that are negative without saying it in a negative way. Meaning, you can state that your upset, but not to the point where it offends someone. The trick to not offending anyone is to personalize compliments and then de-personalize negative compliments. This way no one will offend by anything that you say.

Now, there are a lot of suppliers who think the world of themselves and tend to be easily offended and disrespectful. These suppliers are harder to build a relationship with. They aren’t willing to build a relationship or go the extra mile for anyone. This is when you look for another supplier who is willing to work with you. How do you do this? Well, begin to ask around. Ask your friends, co-workers, and family whom you should hire to do the work. This way you can make a business relationship with a supplier who is friendly and willing to help you with your event or party. They may not want to move mountains for you, but they will want to work with you.

Once you find a supplier who wants to work with you, you will want to state the type of business relationship that you are looking for. You should talk to the supplier and tell them that you are looking for someone who will be loyal and help them deliver a great party. You will want to tell them that they will get all your business if they do a good job with you. You may even want to sign a contract stating that you will only work with them until the other party has shown clear signs of disrespect and low quality. This is what will help form a lasting business relationship. Once you have a long lasting business relationship, you will find that they are willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy.

There is a lot of work to do with building business relationships with other businesses. You need to be willing to make a lasting impression and be respectful to the supply. They too need to be willing, loyal, and respectful for the relationship to work to your advantage. You need to make sure that you put a lot of time and effort into the relationship or it will not work.

How to Make it as Entrepreneur Autorisant l’tat de New-York

The answer- be an entrepreneur!

Central to being an entrepreneur is the question of what truly is an entrepreneur and what makes one.

If you asked business experts some decades ago, the very thing that makes an entrepreneurs would be given on a capsule-like definition. This person must be a male, an only child in the family, should atleast be35 to 45 years old at the time of venturing into the business, must have a masters degree in business courses, must be a Protestant, a son of a poor family and must have worked in his childhood days.

They’re right, entrepreneurs truly must be developed and raised in certain environments that would elicit responses applicable for becoming a risk taker, an organizer and a team builder. Add some touches of good character and faith in himself, his people and his Overseer, the person is sure to go up the ladder of businesses. And never forget, he must have some good streak of luck and fortune that would push him to brave the risks.

Now, if you do not fit in this stereotypical representation, should you get worried? Of course you must not. Hardly any of these are true factors to becoming an effective entrepreneur.

Nonetheless, recent research and keen observations in the lives of successful entrepreneurs indicate that they seem to have some common denominators that make them successful. If you are worried that you lack any of them then you can make ways in acquiring some of those factors and get the advantage of many things.

Though arguments may present various contradictions to the indicators, the fact is, we never can actually give exact measurements on what would work and what would not. Well, other people choose to focus more on the qualities that the entrepreneur don’t have and those that do not apply. Others find links from those that are commonly present in many and those that are exceptionally effective for most. On whatever grounds we delve, there should always be some hints that we can gather.

The common denominators

Handworkers- people in entrepreneurship are almost always the hard workers unless they stand up and work some things out, they can never become entrepreneurs. Not only should they be prepared on what lays their grounds in staring their own business, they must also have the good training prior to staring their company. It his is critical since no lazy oafs can become tycoons overnight.

Motivators- entrepreneurs are normally characterized by their ability to build team spirit and to become effective organizers. Thus, they have to have the power to motivate both his team and himself. They must carry motivation to achieve which is almost similar to believing and hoping for something better. This fall to be one of the most common quality entrepreneurs have. They never aim for the third rank nor the second. Their place, they believe is the first.

Leadership- staring a business entail the risk of falling to uncertainties and failures. Going through all these require much of leadership skills. The group can’t go anywhere without a good leader to tap them when they fall.

The lack to fill

Excessive risk taker- though entrepreneurship demands that one should be willing to take risks, overestimating one’s potentials in taking risks can prove to be very destructive. Optimism is good but overly positive people die early in the world of starting businesses.

Compulsive gambling- gambling is part of entrepreneurship but most people know that risk taking must be based on good decisions and not on impulses, chances of succeeding must be equated to the chances of failures. Thus conscious decisions are vital with every roll of the dice.

The things that don’t matter

Biological factors- this group includes age, sex, marital status, and education level are all irrelevant factors in making it through the entrepreneurial world. They may provide some good contributions to things yet they don’t normally dictate where the ball would fall. Often, we see obscure people winning the game. Obscure, meaning they are not among the stereotypical. School drop outs like most of the successful men and women in the world normally stand on toe (or even above) most businessmen who have doctorate’s and master’s degrees.

Prioritize, Prioritize, Prioritize!

I have a friend whose favorite slogan is, “Organize, Deputize, and Terrorize,” and I’d add “Prioritize” to that group.

Now it sounds fairly simple at the outset, but as you begin to put it on paper strange things begin to happen. Entrepreneurs will begin to see their ideas take form and direction, and even identify some stumbling blocks.

As entrepreneurs, we have this strange system of keeping our goals, visions, and modus operandi in our heads and not on paper. That’s not a sure path to failure, but think of the time when you need a stand-in for your business. You wouldn’t be able to have one take over until they spent about a week in training with you. Instead, let’s put that slogan to work now and get it on paper before we have that need.

1. ORGANIZE – Put your present operating procedures down on paper in the order to be done. Any format that pleases you will do – it may begin with the time to open the office/store or the order in which to accomplish daily tasks. Whatever your particular business needs to function and produce. Think of how and what you do everyday that leads to you being successful, and put it on paper. Here is where you’ll also include your “goals” and your plan for achieving them.

2. PRIORITIZE – Here’s where I’d insert this item. Once you know what it takes to run the day-to-day operations of your business, you can prioritize the tasks by their importance. What must be done first, and what second. To explain it simply, you can’t open a store for business before you have the change money in the cash register. Apply this line of reasoning to your business operations.

3. DEPUTIZE – This is the next item on your paper that tells who will/does accomplish which job or task. What is expected of them each day, and who takes over if they’re not available? If you haven’t assigned particular responsibilities to your staff, perhaps now is the time to evaluate each person to determine who would do which job the best. (As entrepreneurs, we have a tendency to think that nobody else could do a task better than ourselves, but you can’t do everything – and now is the time to delegate.)

4. TERRORIZE – Perhaps this is too harsh a word to use. What I really mean is that once you’ve assigned a task to someone let them run with it, don’t get in their way but keep track of the progress. If you assign a particular job to a person, let them handle it but keep a tickler file so that you can follow-up to see that it’s been done. This is not playing “Big Brother,” but making sure that the ball isn’t dropped and disaster is diverted.

Once you go through this exercise, you’d be amazed at how clearly you begin to see how many of the goals you had at the outset of your business have been successfully accomplished, and which ones still need work in the coming months. You might even surprise yourself at how well you’ve done thus far.

As entrepreneurs we all like to be the “Captain of our ship”, but remember even a Captain needs a crew to sail the boat and bring it safely to port.

Party Sales as a Home Business

Using party sales as a home business has been largely chosen by women as a means of creating income. There are a number of options available when establishing party sales as a home business, as there are several companies who only sell through such means are are not available in retail outlets.

If you are making party sales as a home business your choice of home-based income, there are several factors to consider. One consideration is whether or not there are others in your vicinity who are offering a particular group of products…and this should be considered in terms of competition to your party sales as a home business. You should also of course consider whether you have an interest in or liking for the products you would be selling through your party sales as a home business. The profit margin is another consideration, as in any business.

When you are choosing party sales as a home business, you must of course have adequate space in which to hold a gathering of a number of people. You might have as many as 15 persons at a single party. Whether or not you will offer refreshments to guests who are potential customers must be considered when choosing party sales as a home business.

Among the choices of products you can offer with party sales as a home business are housewares and household supplies, cosmetics, lingerie, health food products and jewelry, among others. Depending upon your choice of party sales as a home business you must consider inventory for demonstrations and the bookkeeping required to operate as a business. Using party sales as a home business, you will usually begin by inviting neighbors and a few friends to your parties. As the business grows, friends will bring others and the party sales as a home business will expand.

If you have chosen party sales as a home business and are selling items such as cookware or kitchen utensils, you should also consider facilities for demonstration. In some cases this would require kitchen space, and you must be sure you have adequate means for demonstrating during party sales as a home business. Whatever products you are selling through party sales as a home business, it is wise to be familiar with the products yourself, whether cosmetics or home products and equipment. Your recommendations for the product should be backed by personal knowledge and experience when using party sales as a home business

Performing Online Marketing Research: 1, 2, and 3!

The how to partial do’s, without the usual rubbish

Online marketing research is what sets the ball rolling for any business resorting to online marketing. As a consumer you must have noticed that the concept of marketing has undergone a sea- change. Place yourself in the shoes of a seller and you will see that marketing your products online can reap you much greater benefits in the long run. Get started with your own online business and see the profits pouring in no time at all! But do remember that nothing by the name of ‘easy money’ exists. No one will be willing to present you with pocketful of dollars just like that. It is a proven fact that if you are willing to give it your hundred percent in terms of sincerity and labor, with the strategy or planning factor included, it pays – it really pays thick and fast.

You need to maintain certain basics, here also, as with any other from of enterprise. One thing you cannot just do without is an effective marketing research. Analysts often like to define ‘market research’ as an activity that helps in successfully catering to the requirements of any particular market. The lion’s share of such research revolves around the anticipations of the customers and their preferences. An effective research will surely help you to realize how the customers take their buying decisions and the directions, in which you have to drive your initiatives. It invariably demands careful planning on your part.

A very common pitfall is to take online marketing research as a whole time activity only before starting your actual act of online marketing. It always pays to think and then act. Learn to make the aspect of market research a part of your day-to-day activity. Only this will ensure your ability to take on any challenge. And as far as growth is concerned every day will be a new experience for you and every step an important one in the learning process.

The first thing you have to do is to carry out a bit of self-assessment. Ask yourself as to what precisely is the information that you need to have about your potential clients. It may involve anything, ranging from learning about their daily schedules to demographic statistics, and so on. A careful assessment of these little things will definitely benefit you in terms of the quality of service that you can provide to your clients.

While performing the task of research, make sure that you are not wasting your time on finding out facts that you already know. There is always a probability of having a lot of information already been published than what you have realized until date. In this context, various publications on business at national and regional level, the U.S. Census Bureau, the chamber of commerce, etc. can be great sources of information, statistics and data. You can always opt for an online search of the company directories. These will provide you with important data regarding hundreds of companies all around the world. The market research directories can assist you in locating the premier companies conducting market researches.

These are some basic points in online marketing research that can have a positive influence on the way you conduct online marketing, irrespective of its kind and volume.

Corporate Gift Online Shopping

With the availability of the internet, it is much easier to see different types of corporate gifts. Sites that offer wide range of gift items are easy to find too. The comfort and ease these sites bring give you the advantage of avoiding the stress of rushing to the department stores and saving time to conveniently shop at the comforts of your home or office. However, too many sites and choices can sometimes bring confusion, especially if you do not have an idea what and where to buy your corporate gifts.

But the truth is, it doesn’t matter if you know what to buy or not, what is important when shopping for corporate gift items online is the content of the site itself. In other words, knowing what type of gift items to buy is not only the way to avoid confusion when buying corporate gifts online; you also need to know are the sites to should go to and the services these sites have.

So what are these?

Price – Some would treat corporate gifts as investments on business relationship and thus, price counts. Although this is correct in some ways, you should always be wise on the price of the gift items you will give (that the price of the corporate gift will provide good return). Meanwhile, when looking for a corporate gift online, price should always be checked from one site to another. Like departments stores, different online sites offer the same items at different prices. If you have a particular item in mind, make sure you shop around and compare prices.

Save for the grey years and avail IRA tax deduction

IRA, or Individual Retirement Arrangement, is a personal savings plan that lets you save up for rainy days and gives you tax benefits in the form of tax deductions. All contributions made to this plan are entitled to the IRA tax deduction. This also includes earnings from these contributions unless they are distributed to you.

There are two types of IRA and therefore two set of rules where deductions are concerned.

The first is the simple IRA. A traditional IRA is a personal savings plan that

encourages you to save for retirement by giving you tax advantages. Contributions that you make to a normal IRA may get you a deduction in part or whole. What you earn on your IRA is also exempt from taxes unless they are distributed to you.

To set up a simple IRA you must be less than seventy and a half years at the end of the tax year in which you have applied. Additionally, you must have a taxable compensation when you set up this plan. Taxable compensation includes: salaries, commissions, alimony, maintenance or any other means of income

generated by self. Rental or any other income from property, annuity or deferred compensation does not qualify as taxable compensation.

The maximum you can contribute to your IRA is either $ 3,000 or your taxable compensation for the year, whichever is less. The contribution limit is $ 3,500 if you are 50 years or older. If at the time of contribution, you are not covered by any other retirement plan, then the whole amount that you contribute is deductible. If, however, you are covered by a valid retirement plan, your IRA deduction can either be reduced or eliminated, depending on the amount of your Modified Adjusted Gross Income and your filing status.

As for withdrawals, anything that you withdraw from IRA is up for taxation, either wholly or in part. If you have been availing of full deduction for contribution made, the taxation on the amount withdrawn will be cent per cent.

A traditional IRA can be established at many different financial institutions, including banks, insurance companies and brokerage firms.

The other type of IRA is the Roth IRA. Roth IRA is the reverse of the traditional IRA. Contributions that you make to this RA will get you no deductions. But, there are no taxes on the withdrawals or earnings either. This exception aside, everything else about Roth IRA is like the simple IRA. Like the latter it can be either an account or an annuity. To be a Roth IRA, the account or annuity must be designated as a Roth IRA when it is set up.
