No specific reason has been found for the display of this error message. System engineers always blame the software which caused this error and according to them software which causes this error must be patched. In this article we shall be looking into some of the methods of fixing rundll32.exe messages which crop up in your display. A subtle explanation about the cause of the error message along with the remedial measures will be discussed in the following passages.

So what exactly causes the error and what is the rundll32.exe file? Ever searched for this file in your pc and you will find that the file can be indeed found in the System32 folder. Ok you found the file, what is the function of this file? While the computer is booted up, all the DLL files which are necessary for the operation of the OS is loaded into the memory. Now rundll32.exe helps in the loading and unloading of the DLL files to and fro the memory. Absence or any problems with the file might cause unforeseeable problems which will give more headaches to the user.

Whenever you get the rundll32.exe error, verify the location of the exe file. If it is found running from somewhere else, then it is a sign of malware infection of the PC. Install a good antivirus or an antispyware solution and scan the computer for weeding out the malware. Some root kits are also known to cause such errors, so you will need specialized root kit cleaning solutions too. If the rundll32.exe file is present in the appropriate location then something else must be amiss and should be taken a look into. And such steps will be discussed.

Rundll32.exe errors are also caused when software programs are inappropriately installed and uninstalled. Switching off the PC abruptly by removing the main power cord from the power socket wall is also one of the primary causes of this error. Do some troubleshooting of your own. Does the error come up only when certain programs are being run? Or it comes always? If it is the former case, then uninstall the program and try reinstalling it. Check with the vendor’s website for an updated version of the program and install it, because the software must have been patched from such errors. Keeping the OS up to date with the help of Microsoft update services is also recommended.

Opening up the system configuration tab and checking out the various options might also help. In the startup tab look out for suspicious entries. Viruses and spyware always create entries in there so that they can be run automatically when the PC is booted up. Also check out the services after hiding all the Microsoft services. Verify whether the entries are for the utilities which are already installed on your PC. If not, try disabling them and the rundll32.exe error message should stop appearing. Treat the problem according to the symptoms being displayed.

You have known the error message. Invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll. As simple as that. You curse your stars and reach out for the system engineer’s number. But do you know that you can fix such errors by yourself? No need to pay something hefty for a job which you can do in minutes once you get the drift. In this article we shall be looking into some of the reasons why this error message crops up and some remedial measures for keeping such messages in bay. So shall we delve into the details?

This DLL error is must different from the other forms of errors which you have come across. And it is being listed whenever you do something on the computer, like opening or closing up the windows or executing some program. The cause of the error cannot be stated as one reason, but the cause can be easily found out with the help of the error message which is being displayed along with the kernel32.dll error. So what exactly is the role of kernel32.dll file in your computer? It may be a bit surprising to find that the DLL file has one of the top priority jobs, managing the contents which are present in the memory. While the computer is switched on, the components which are required for the normal running of the OS is loaded from the hard disk drive to the memory. This includes the DLL file too, which is saved in a protected area of the memory. The space which is taken by the kernel32.dll file cannot be used by any other programs. This is the normal case. But when you start seeing such error messages then be warned, because this protected space in the memory is being attacked by various other DLL files.

Some of the common strategies which are employed to fix the error are being listed below. As with all the different forms of DLL errors, these can also be fixed with a proper computer restart. When the PC is restarted, then the memory contents and cleared and reloaded. If the error still occurs even after the restart switch to plan b. When does the error occur? Only when you invoke a program? Or when you invoke all the programs? If it is the former, then try reinstalling the software. A factor which should be pointed out is that the computer should always be kept updated with all the latest security patches and fixes ever released. All these can be found in the Microsoft update website.

Improper password list files (.pwl) are also known to cause kernel32.dll error messages. Try repairing such password list files and verify whether the error is being listed. Thumb.db files when gone corrupt will also lead to the formation of such errors. Saving the DLL files in the desktop will also result in the display of this error message. In some rare situations, malware can be the cause. Scan the PC with a leading antivirus solution.

The DLL file is also known to be adept in handling interrupt requests as well as the input and output operations. Troubleshooting of kernel32.dll file has been discussed in this article. Before delving into the details it is better to list some of the causes of kernel32.dll errors. Users operating in the NT arena might have come across the infamous invalid page fault error message. Ever wondered what causes the display of this error message? Memory space is always kept protected by the kernel32.dll file and whenever a program tries to take away that memory space, this error is being listed. It can be one program which is trying to get into the protected memory space, or it can be a collection of programs which are trying to access this space. Depending upon the error message troubleshooting can be handled.

Some of the common causes of kernel32.dll file error messages are listed below:

Damage of the swap file region is one of the primary causes of the kernel32.dll error messages. Swap is required as an extension to the physical memory which is present in the PC.

The files in the hard disk are allocated in various forms. Some of the common allocation techniques are FAT32, NTFS. Damage to this file allocation technique can also result in kernel32.dll error message.

Well this reason is obvious but still has to be listed among the causes, partial or complete damage to the kernel32.dll file will also result in the mentioned error message.

Softwares which have been improperly installed or configured along with corruption in the registry are one of the causes.

Hardware drivers which have been properly installed as well as softwares may also cause kernel32.dll errors. In some extreme cases problems of the motherboard will also be reflected as a kernel error.

Lastly the presence of virus or spyware softwares also will lead to the display of this error message. Ambient free space should be present in the hard disk drive else kernel32.dll will be resulted.

Some procedures for curbing kernel32.dll system errors are listed below:

If you notice the display of this error message after installing a particular software or hardware, try uninstalling and reinstalling them. If the problem persists, especially in case of hardwares, remove the said hardware at the earliest.

Creation of the password file list can also solve the kernel32.dll errors. The only gripe of this method is that almost all the passwords which have been saved on the PC will be deleted with the formation of a new password file list. A new password file list can be created by deleting the .pml files which are present in the Windows folder. After deletion, when the PC is restarted, then a new password file list will be created without fail. It is better to note down the passwords so that you can safely delete the .pwl files.

Computers are widely being used for work related purposes and fun. And in the due course of time many errors may crop up. We usually resort to the help of system engineers who help us in fixing them. If you are not careful enough with the usage of the computer, you will start experiencing problems on day to day basis. And instead of showing your anger to the PC which is inanimate to a large extent, it is better to sit and find a suitable solution to the problems at hand. In this article we shall be looking at the different forms of run time as well as DLL errors which occasionally crop up in the PC.

Instead of panicking when such an error is being displayed we need to maintain out cool and realize that such DLL errors are the result of a software or group of softwares which started acting up on the PC. Now there are softwares which run along as individual components as well as softwares which are required for the necessary functioning of the connected hardware. These are in turn known as driver softwares and sometimes improper driver softwares will also result in the formation of DLL runtime errors.

A noticeable drop in the performance of the PC can be seen when a DLL error crops up. DLL files are simply libraries which contain the instructions for the normal running of the software. So absence of a set of instructions will lead to error messages and slow performance of the PC. Some of the reasons which will result in the display of DLL errors messages are:

Incompatibilities which occur between the different programs due to their DLL file versions being different.

Incorrect softwares being installed and uninstalled improperly from the computer.

The memory modules when corrupted will also lead to the formation of DLL errors. Suitable softwares are available which can verify the presence of errors in the memory and if any such errors are found, you can try replacing the erroneous memory modules.

One of the last and the most common reasons for DLL problems are due to the infection of the PC with virus or spyware. Malicious softwares always work by changing the integral nature of the software according to their needs and making suitable modifications on the registry.

DLL errors are even known to be caused by the difference in the version numbers. That means even when the DLL files are the same, they might contain different set of instructions and it may lead to error messages being displayed. Hence care must be taken always to invest on newer software for the computer, it is with the older softwares that older DLL files are present. Registry cleaners can be downloaded from http://www.registry-cleaner-tool.com/ They tend to repair the registry and remove all traces of incorrect entries present and are also known to boost the productivity of the computer by speeding it up. Backing up registry before cleaning is always better.

Let me introduce you to a DLL file which when gets corrupted can spoil your entire afternoon trying to fix it. I am speaking about Ntdll.dll file missing or corrupt errors which maybe displayed on your screen when god wants you to make good use of your existence. In this article we shall be discussing some strategies which are to be employed for fixing the Ntdll.dll error messages. Contrary to the popular beliefs, Ntdll.dll error messages are caused by some improperly configured or installed softwares and has no relationship with the current NT setup either Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Ntdll.ddl error messages are displayed when the PC is working or when the PC is shutdown or during the bootup. It means there is no exact manner to predict the appearance of the error message. As always the errors are caused because of an improper Ntdll.dll file which got corrupted in due course of time. They are also known to be caused by incompatible programs, programs which are incompatible with the current operating system. So let’s see how to fix them at the earliest.

Restarting the PC might make the error disappear. But if the error returns while the PC is booting up again after a restart procedure it is better to follow the next steps.

If you find that the error cropped up after installing a specific program, it is wiser to uninstall that particular software. After uninstalling make sure the error doesn’t appear any longer. If it appears, your afternoon just got a bit longer.

Always insist on installing the updated versions of softwares on your PC. In the case of some programs it has been found that the updated versions were released after the initial release caused this error. Service packs of the latest order must always be invested on to keep your PC running in a top notch condition.

Some of the add-ons for Internet Explorer are known to cause this DLL error. It would be better to disable the add-ons on temporary basis. So if the error was shown in your PC due to these add-ons, now they might stop showing themselves again.

Now here is a tip for the advanced PC users, who would really like to display their skills in system administration. Renaming of the NLSPATH variable which can be found in the environmental variables is known to fix the error. After the renaming procedure it is better to restart the PC and verify that the error message does not show up. If it does show up, please rename the NLSPATH variable to the original path.

Here is another tip which should be done on trial and error basis. Data Execution prevention should be disabled for Explorer.exe. If no change in the situation it is better to enable back the DEP.

Sometimes the error may be displayed as a result of damaged memory modules. If that the case, then replacing the memory modules may help out. Replacing the IDE cable might also be tried.

DLL errors are something which has been dreaded by system administrators and PC users worldwide. Most of the reasons for DLL errors are perplexing and in this article we shall be looking into some of the lesser known DLL errors which are hard to fix and troubleshoot. Although replacing a corrupt DLL with a newer or original one is the most desired route to fix the error, it is better not to resort to such tactics. Why? Because there are some websites which distribute malicious DLL files and downloading and copying them to your PC is risky in the long term.

Fixing Hal.dll errors

Well like given in the title, hal.dll is caused due to a corrupt hal.dll file or a damaged boot.ini file. The error is usually displayed while the PC is being booted up and just before the desktop is being shown. Damage to the hal.dll file may be caused by improper installation or removal of software or due to some physical damage of the hard disk drive. Some of the common troubleshooting techniques for fixing this error message have been listed in the following section.

In some rare cases it is seen that the hal.dll error message maybe caused randomly and there maybe no actual problem with any of the DLL files. In such cases, it is best suited to restart the PC and the problem should vanish.

If you have enabled system restore, then the whole procedure just got easier. Just restore the PC to an earlier restore point and you are good to go. System restore can be done either in the full mode or in the safe mode and doing it in the safe mode is always recommended.

Like mentioned earlier, corrupt boot.ini files may also lead to display of hal.dll error messages. Replacing or editing the boot.ini file which can be found in the root partition is one such remedy. You will have to enable the display of hidden files in the File Options, as the boot.ini is a hidden file.

Errors in the boot sector of the hard disk will also result in the formation of hal.dll errors. Rewriting the boot sector will help in curbing the problem.

Well think, from where did you receive the hal.dll file initially? Of course from your Windows XP installation disk. If you have the disk with you, the DLL file can be found in the disk itself and you should be able to place it on your PC.

Repairing the current Windows XP installation is also recommended. Boot from the installation disk and when the prompt appears instead of installation, choose the repair option. You will be asked to choose the current Windows installation. Once you point the wizard to the current installation take a coffee break because it might take sometime for the repairing process.

In some extremely rare cases, when nothing seems to be working, it is better to reinstall the Window XP. Care must to be taken so that the data is initially backed up before resorting to XP reinstallation.

This is especially true with the DLL related error messages which can be commonly found in the windows operating systems only. Since Windows only uses the DLL architecture, Linux and Macs use other forms of libraries these DLL error messages can only be found in operating systems from the stables of Microsoft. Some of the DLL error messages vanish by a mere rebooting of the computer. But some are more stubborn and come back to haunt us while we are in the middle of an important chore.

Vrlogon.dll is a DLL file which is being used with certain laptops. And what exactly is this vrlogon.dll concerning with? Some laptops of the modern generation accompany with fingerprint recognition technology. Vrlogon.dll is used for the normal functioning of this technology. In most of the users, the error crops up when they implement the Fast User Switching feature which is available inbuilt with Windows NT based operating systems. With the help of fast user switching mechanisms, the current user will be able to switch to another user account on the same PC without rebooting. Some of the typical symptoms which are shown during the onset of this error are the absence of the welcome window when the PC is booting up. And when the user logs into the desktop using his credentials, when he tries to enable fast user switching in the control panel, he will be greeted with a beautiful message stating that vrlogon.dll is missing or is corrupt. In some laptops they get the messages that fast user switching has been temporarily disabled.

The irritating feature of this DLL error is that when the end user tries to search manually for vrlogon.dll in his laptop, he is greeted with a blank page. It means the DLL file is not even present on the system, yet the PC is displaying messages that the file is corrupt. These will surely induce much confusion and he may start thinking about the onset of a virus or spyware infection. Some of the users find respite by disabling the fingerprint recognition technology which is in built, but the doubt always lingers in their minds. Little information can be found on Google, because only recently did laptop manufacturers resort to opting for fingerprinting technology for an added level of security.

It has been found that http://www.registry-cleaner-tool.com/ can effectively clean our notebook or laptop off this serious menace. Replacing the user initialization file userinit.exe has been found to have solved the problems of some of the users. The rest are resorting to the registry cleaner which is available for download from http://www.registry-cleaner-tool.com/ The vrlogon.dll corruption is known to affect another DLL file known as Gina.dll and the coupled effect is deadly. Some users have posted in discussion boards that they have been advised by the laptop manufacturers to delete the gina.dll file from the Windows directory.

One of the lesser known DLL errors is user32.dll errors. If you are thinking about copy pasting the error message on Google and doing some homework, you are going to be disappointed. In this article we shall be looking into some of the common user32.dll errors. Gone are the days when you are hunting down the search engine results looking for fixes to DLL errors, this article might help you fix that dreaded DLL error.

Before delving into the details it would be better if a formal introduction about the DLL is listed. User32.dll forms an integral component of the Windows operating systems, because most of the boxes displaying dialogues are available due to the presence of this DLL file. Imagine in the absence of this DLL file what would be the current state of Windows operating systems? Error messages maybe resulted either due to a damaged user32.dll file or due to the improper access of the file by any other programs.

The error must have resulted soon after the installation of a program. If that program is reinstalled or weeded out of the PC, then the error being displayed can be eliminated to a large extent.

If the error cropped up soon after the installation of a hardware peripheral, it is better to reinstall the drivers of the peripheral. Searching the vendor’s website is always recommended in such state.

System restore is another option which is found to be effective against DLL errors. This application regularly backs up the settings of the PC and in the case of an unlikely situation it is always better to restore the system to a previous date.

In certain cases the PC will not boot because of the presence of this error. In such cases, it is always better to switch to safe mode and do a restoration of the operating system from the safe mode environment.

In most cases just by looking at the error message, the software or the hardware component which caused the error can be found out and suitably rectified.

Improper windows updates will also cause in User32.dll file errors. It is always recommended to download the updates for the operating system using the update services of Microsoft. The process can be automated by switching on the Automatic Update options, which can be found in the Control Panel.

In most cases an update of the operating system should solve the problem. If it does not, the driver for the faulty component either software or hardware can be updated manually from the websites of the respective vendors.

Entering tasklist /m user32.dll on the command prompt will help you in zooming into the softwares which are currently using the user32.dll file. The erroneous software will be listed in the resulting window.

The User32.dll file can be restored to the PC with the help of the installation disk using the Recovery Console. It is always better to install Recovery Console in the PC instead of resorting to fishing out the original installation disks when an issue crops up.

This is one of the dreaded error messages for software engineers as they frequently come across this because it is caused by Microsoft Visual C program. The 71 is the DLL file indicates that the engine being used by the Visual C program is 7.1. The DLL file is also required for the normal functioning of the mouse, in the absence of the file, scrolling functioning and drop down functions are temporarily disabled. Some of the causes for the error messages concerning msvcr71.dll are listed below.

As with most of the DLL errors being seen, this error message will appear as soon as inappropriate software or hardware with incorrect software is installed on the PC.

The presence of malicious or older corrupt DLL files in the system will also lead to the display of msvcr71.dll errors.

In the course of installing programs, sometimes a newer DLL file may get over written by an older DLL file. This might also lead to msvcr71.dll related errors.

Some corrupt files of the office suite Microsoft Office will also lead to msvcr71.dll errors.

The presence of malware in the form of virus or spyware along with a registry which has been corrupted by the help of virus will also facilitate in display of the error messages.

Some basic troubleshooting techniques have been listed in the following passages.

Give a thought about the origin of the error messages. Did it occur soon after the installation of new software or with the installation of hardware? Damaged hardware or the driver which was shipped with the hardware may be the culprit in such cases. Searching for the newest driver in the vendor’s website is always recommended.

The next troubleshooting step which is to be followed is updating all the softwares of the PC including the operating system to the newest available versions. Vendors are aware of such error messages and keep on updating their releases with newer and modified ones so as to eliminate the error causing files.

Most of the vendors resort to DLL sharing mechanism. Instead of listing down a separate DLL file for their software, they always piggyback on the existing versions of DLL files. But the real problem arises when one of the applications which are using the shared DLL file is uninstalled. Along with the original software, the shared DLL file will also be removed and the other softwares which use these DLL files will be affected. This is one of the gripes of using shared DLL architecture.

Always invest on good antivirus software which features anti spyware solutions too. Some of the malware agents are known to cause msvcr71.dll errors. Keeping them updated along with regular scanning of the PC will help in keeping them at bay.

If the msvcr71.dll error is caused due to a registry error, you can also try investing on solutions such as http://www.registry-cleaner-tool.com/ These well known software solutions are known to be effective in fixing all the errors related to the registry.

IEFrame.DLL missing or not found error message is frequent among Internet Explorer 7 users. This specific DLL file is required for the normal functioning of the above mentioned browser. Recently it was also found that Visual Basic 6 also gives the same IEFrame.DLL error message. The causes of the occurrence of the error are varied. Firstly they maybe attributed to an incorrect installation of the internet explorer 7. Some strains of viruses and spyware softwares are also known to cause such error messages. Incorrect installation of certain windows updates as well the firewall settings which are improper may also lead to IEFrame.DLL missing error messages. Always keep the security softwares updated and in most cases these are the causes.

Most of the DLL files can be downloaded individually from websites. But in the case of IEFrame.DLL never download and copy the file from such websites. Instead resort to the following steps which have been outlined.

I know that this is getting boring, but as usually we start the troubleshooting techniques with a quick restart of the PC. If the error returns even after the restart its time to get back to business.

Since the error is caused by internet explorer, naturally installing the latest build of internet explorer might solve the problem to a large extent.

Since the error is also caused by visual basic 6, installed the latest build version of visual basic 6 might also eliminate the problem.

In some strange cases restarting the networking services can also solve the problem. If you are using a router or a residential gateway to get connected to the internet, it is always better to restart them.

Before proceeding further it is always better to scan the PC for virus and spyware activities.

Registry errors can be fixed using a dedicated solution which can be found in http://www.registry-cleaner-tool.com/

Disabling the inbuilt firewall software of Windows and updating the operating system to the latest build is also recommended. Always update the software from Microsoft Update Service.

Cleaning up the temporary files which can be found in the Temp folder might help. You can also experiment by disabling the built in add-ons of internet explorer. Some of the add-ons are known to cause problems in the long term.

Instead of playing with the different security levels of the internet explorer, it is always safe to keep the settings at the default. If you find that the security levels are different from that being set, then revert it to the default.

We can change the location of the temp folder which is being used by internet explorer. Verify whether the position has been changed and if you find that it has been changed, revert it back to the original location. Disabling the phishing filter as well as the protected mode on the browser is also recommended.

The error message can be found listed in any operating system which is compatible with internet explorer 7.
