(VP RECORDS, NEW YORK) - VP Records joins forces with Celebrity Apprentice to give back to charity as the company purchases $7000 worth of items at an art auction during the show's "The Art of the Deal" episode, which aired on April 3, 2011 on NBC. The label's CEO Christopher Chin, President Randy Chin and Vice-President Cristy Barber participated in the auction to help raise money for Celebrity Apprentice contestant John Rich (of acclaimed country music group Big & Rich), to benefit his charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, based in Memphis, Tennessee.The label bought Gary Busey's painting for $5000 - a sale Busey personally brokered with the label's heads, as seen in the episode. The painting now hangs in the VP Records board room in New York. Additionally, Barber purchased Richard Hatch's final painting for $1000 to help the men's team, Backbone, sell every single painting in their auction. She also nabbed a New Era baseball hat artistically decorated by John Rich. The hat was donated to Rich's young son, Cash.This Celebrity Apprentice involvement materialized because of the partnership between Cristy Barber and John Rich, who have teamed up for a trailblazing project where the name says it all - Reggae's Gone Country. The highly-anticipated compilation album features various artists from both reggae and country music and is scheduled for release this summer as a joint venture between VP Records and Rich's label, Warner Brothers Nashville.Barber produced the Grammy-nominated Def Jamaica, a star-studded meeting of the minds from Def Jam's hip-hop roster and Jamaican dancehall music, back in 2003. Now with this unprecedented fusion of reggae and country music from some of its biggest producers and stars, she is again seeking to make in-roads and bring the reggae genre to a new fan base, and perhaps the largest musical audience whose ears give country music its powerful backbone."Classic country music is very big in Jamaica, which is what influenced me to do this project of having reggae artists cover classic country songs," reveals Barber. Wednesday night, the entire New York Tri-State felt the ground shake after the earthquake DJ Norie's year Anniversary at BB Kings caused. With doors opening at 10pm, there was a line down 42nd street in both directions before, and by 11pm the entire building was filled from wall to wall, as people came out to see Richie Spice, Barrington Levy, and Stephen Marley. Special guest Mr. Cheeks from the lost boys also graced the stage, as well as Norie Marley... lololol. Below are some of the pictures from the event. We apologize to the 100's of people who didn't purchase tickets in advance and weren't able to get in. Besides the amazing performances and the great party, people were treated to gift bags containing some of DJ Norie's best mixes, culture, old school and dancehall, depending on the gift bag they received.

Fallen Soldiers: RIP DJ Megatron

Known for his Television hosting & upbeat radio Personality, DJ Megatron was killed early this Sunday morning, March 27th in New York City.

While the information has not been publicly released, insiders say that the DJ was killed by a single gunshot wound to the chest at an event in Staten Island.

Had a little too much to drankkkkkkk last night?

Did you have so much fun listening to @DJNorie's Anything Goes party on the radio from 8-10PM on Sunday that you started popping bottles in your kitchen?

Well have no fear, because just released to the IPhone App Store in the newest and hottest App on the market, "Last Night Never Happened".

Developed by a man with an obvious purpose, or one who ha a bitchy drunk girlfriend who puts all his secrets on facebook every time she hits the bottle, This app deletes all the posts and tweets you put up from a certain time. Go back in time and erase all the shit talking, picture evidence that you posted in your extreme state of drunkness.

So lets see...You guys started fighting at 8pm, she was taking shots by 9, so she was posting by 9:15.. (what ever happened to good old drunk dialing? I mean really!) By using the "Last Night never happened" App, she can set the app for 9pm when the drinking started, and have it automatically delete all postings from then until now.

Lil Wayne and his Bebe's kids kicked off their Young Money Tour Last night in Rhode Island. Among the surprise performances, there were appearances by Travis Barker, Rick Ross, and Nicki Minaj's lap dance routine. With all that ass, she's kinda giving me the "I just lay there" fever. When she first started gyrating, I really thought she was just attempting to relieve herself of a spandex wedgie. Guess that was part of the act....

Norie's News: Fallen Soldiers- Rapper Nate Dogg Dead at Age 41

It is a sad day in Hip-Hop. Four time Grammy nominee Rapper Nate Dogg, who's real name was Nathaniel Hale, was announced dead by The Long Beach Press Telegram, after receiving the announcement from his family members. While the rapper has been battling numerous health issues, and has previously suffered two strokes in the past two years, one having left him partially paralyzed, no exact cause of death was released.

Here was a video of Warren G discussing Nate Dogg's health issues last November, after Nate Dogg's last serious health battle, and some of Nate Dogg's notable videos.

Rest In Peace Nate Dogg, gone but not forgotten. Our condolences to your loved ones, they are in our prayers.

For all of the fans that wanted to listen to the DJ Norie Vybz Kartel interview from last night, this video contains the second part of the interview, where Kartel discussed the whole issue of his "bleaching".. Kartel had previously released a statement to VIBE magazine regarding the issue, where he stated the following:

“I’m my own man, and as such I do my own thing. When black women stop straightening their hair and wearing wigs and weaves, when white women stop getting lip and butt injections and implants, when bald men stop getting hair transplants, and when people stop getting nose jobs and cosmetic surgery then I’ll stop using the ‘cakesoap’ and we’ll all live naturally ever after. Just when I thought there was going to be no ghetto programming to watch with chicken wings and a beer, VH1 dropped off this amazing little tid bit in my inbox.

Funny enough is I happen to be present at a part of the taping for the series, the segment when Olivia had a listening session for her new music at Veranda in NYC a few months ago. Imagine my surprise when then she opened her mouth to sing and I didn't want to vomit!

Way any, this series follows all the girls in life that nobody cares about ( with the exception of Jim Jones wife ), but somehow, when you pack all their weave, drama and jump-off like tactics into one hour, it actually makes for TV I can bare. Was Ciara not available at the time of taping? A few of her well choreographed body rolls and this show would be ready for the Emmy's! We can only dream.. *sigh*
