Halibut fishing in Alaska is the perfect adventure that any fisherman can dream of having. Halibut will provide a challenge to even the most experienced angler. These huge fish richly populate the shores of Alaska in great quantities. You have your choice of spots to try from Ketchikan all away around to the Aleutian island chain.

You need to find a way to get out to the best halibut fishing in Alaska. There are many fishing charters that specialize in taking anglers out to the best spots. Halibut love to experience summer in the shallower depths of the coastal shelf. It provides the best feeding opportunities. These huge fish nestle down in the depressions and dips right at the continental shelf drop. The charter captains that specialize in halibut fishing know where the sweet spots are located.

Having the right equipment and bait is essential for the best halibut fishing in Alaska. These monster fish can get up to well over seventy-five pounds and even top one hundred. So no ordinary tackle is going to handle these behemoths. They love to swim at depths of 100 feet down or more. Bait rigs need to be weighted to keep it down at the bottom of the shelf. But it needs to be light enough that the angler doesn’t tire out too quickly. Lures vary and your skipper can help you choose the right one. Commercial circle hooks have become popular since they snag the halibut very well. Herring and octopus are favored baits in Alaska. Salmon is considered a true delicacy by halibut as well. Rely on the advice your charter captain gives you for the best experience. They troll these waters all the time and know what works.

You will see and catch other fish as you go halibut fishing in Alaska. Hooks often catch octopus, dogfish, salmon and rays. Your charter boat will give you a clean comfortable ride with a knowledgeable skipper. As you glide along the waters, dolphin and porpoises often come along to ride the wake. The entire family can have fun looking at the sea otters and jelly fish. Many charters offer underwater cameras to see what is going on down below.

Improving your vertical can include several exercises. This will depend on you the athlete, the level of training facilities out there for you Vertical Explosion Review, and how significantly you are willing to devote. In this post I will detail many lifts and workout routines which will guide your system be in very good condition to bettering your vertical, within the final area I’ll provide many hopefully helpful links for you.

Basic system fat coaching:

These coaching workouts are quite standard and will advantage you tremendously.

1. Basically jumping up and down. As simple because it sounds, this will likely build simple strength and conditioning to your vertical. Nonetheless, what you will need to do is discover a stage around the wall and continuously get going for it, equally hands higher. Try and use your stored electricity to spring yourself from the ground. If you are rather tall or have a good vertical already, start for any stage around the glass of the back-board or if possible the rim.

a couple of. This builds away from on the strength you built through the preceding workout, except for this time, integrate a medication ball. Maintain it in both hands, high above your head and once again start for a particular point about the wall, glass, or rim. This can tax your leg muscle tissues and total system muscle tissues in an additional way. It will also develop hand power, and is often a good workout for increasing your ability to assault the basket.

3. Jump rope – that is easy and affordable and is usually done essentially anywhere.

A excellent thing to recall is the fact that these will condition you for the beneficial vertical, nevertheless recall games aren’t only won by training Jump Manual, it really is important to stay sport unique, don’t overlook to acquire out and perform some ball, go up with power, elbows high in practice and definitely assault the basket, the use of a weighted vest or leg weights can have advantage if utilized in moderation.

Inside pounds room:

If you are able to get towards the fat space, these lifts will guide increase your vertical drastically.

one. Thoroughly clean on the floor – that is beneficial for overall explosive electricity, get in a great dead-lift stance and drive that excess fat up.

two. Squat, Front Squat and Start Squats – Squat is often a fundamental lift, which carried out correct can construct tons of strength in your legs necessary for the good vertical, focus on acquiring reduced to acquire hip versatility which will only assist you. Start squats can be accomplished on the smith machine, and if completed right will place emphasis on powerful Achilles tendon, essential for good jumping power

3. Calf raises

4. Leg Press

Finally, plyometric coaching is crucial. This ncludes:

1. Box jumps – applying a box or ledge, start up for the point of elevation, it is possible to do this with dumbbells or excess fat plates for additional challenge.

a couple of. Explosive hops – applying track hurdles or something similar get going more than and outwards past a series of them

3. Electricity skips – push off of a single leg and drive the opposite knee upwards, making use of your arms as component of one’s explosive leap. Concentrate on speed and power.

4. Power throws – in the leaning more than squat position use a medication ball or often weighted object (which you can toss with out hurt to your self or others or without damage to property) and explode upwards and throw the ball up and backward. This can generate hand and arm explosiveness/speed which is necessary for any solid vertical. This will likely also enhance required back and shoulder power.

This is a simple and rough manual which will certainly help start the argument as far as bettering your vertical soar is involved. I encourage any reader to research further and/or seek professional aid with implementing this program or something similar. It really is unwise to embark on any training regimen if you happen to be medically unable Serious Ups. It is often recommended to look for a doctor or otherwise sport/medical expert before embarking on any plan.

Pros

One of the first things you notice when you inspect the Liquid Image Video Scuba Mask HD320 is the streamlined design of the unit. The dive mask is a hybrid, combining 720p HD video capabilities and 5 megapixel camera with a sleek dive mask made of very solid composite materials with a flashy metal-flake blue paint job. The lenses are made of high quality tempered glass and have a cross hair in the center of each – helping you to frame in your video and photos. There are two compartments on either side of the mask, both double sealed and accessible via threaded caps, which house the 4 AAA lithium batteries which power the unit. You can expect battery run time of over 2 hours with high quality batteries.

On top, there is another, larger cap that seals the USB port and microSD slot (32GB max). All of the compartments are threaded and have washers in addition to O-rings for optimal water resistance – a tube of silicon grease is included to make the seal even more effective. Two lever buttons is all it takes to operate the mask, the left side of the lever powers the camera on and off and switches between video and photo modes. The right side of the lever is the shutter/record button, it’s function depending on the mode you’re in. Two bright LEDs which you can see through the smokey premium grade silicon skirt tell you whether you are in photo or video mode, red for photo, and a blue LED for video. A status LCD tells you battery life, how many pictures and clips you’ve taken, and whether you’re in photo or video mode. The mask weighs barely more than a regular swim mask and allows you virtually hands free operation of the camera.

The mask size seems to be a good compromise that will fit most people without leaking. If you have a much larger than average size head your view may be slightly limited. Likewise, if you have too small of a head, you may get leaks. The goal was to fit the majority of people with this mask, for people with larger noses and who generally need larger masks, the HD321 is available and features a larger skirt. The mask seals nicely given you don’t have a huge amount of facial hair. The strap is highly adjustable and features a quick release mechanism on either side. If you have longer hair that tends to get tangled up, you may want to get a strap pad available at diving supply stores.

We took a few sample snapshots at the office before actually field testing the unit, and the results were quite surprising. The pictures turned out sharp and had decent contrast. Certainly better than expected for the retail price of $249.95, especially for a camera with no adjustibility.

Our underwater footage turned out amazing! Resolution is crisp and well saturated at 1280×720, and the frame rate is a smooth 30 FPS. Colors were well saturated, nice and contrasty, and had minimal artifacting. The rolling shutter issues associated with the original 302 mask, which would be a concern for serious videographers but not most recreatonal users, have mostly been eliminated. When used in conjunction with a blue or green water filter, the results are absolutely dreamy!

Bottom line is the mask works wonderfully underwater! The red and blue LEDs are very visible, making it very easy to tell what mode you’re in. When in video mode, the LED blinks to let you know that you’re recording. The buttons are placed in an easy to reach spot on the “shoulder” of the mask, allowing you to change modes and start and stop recording without fumbling. The power/mode button is a few mm higher than the shutter/record button, making it easy to distinguish between the two. We think the design is a solid one which most people will appreciate.

Cons
While the mask is very user friendly, more controls would be nice. Some people will miss the ability to adjust focus settings for the camera mode; although this would be difficult with no viewfinder or live preview LCD.

It would also have been nice if the status LCD reported how many pictures/video clips the memory card has space for, as opposed to how many have already been taken. The unit also has a microphone, which seems unnecessary as most of the sounds captured are generally the gurgle made when breathing out. A different frame color might have been nice, you can have any color you want, as long as it’s blue, but that’s really down to personal preference.

Another issue is battery life. The ocean tends to be pretty cool, and coupled with the fact that water has a much, much higher heat capacity than air, it tends to affect your battery life rather quickly. For this reason Liquid Image recommends and includes a set of disposable lithium ion batteries. Until they release rechargeable lithium ions, you can expect to spend a decent amount on batteries for your dives.

All in all, the negative aspects are certainly outweighed by the positive.<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:TrackMoves /> <w:TrackFormatting />
The VideoMask 310

Pros
Using an integrated waterproof digital video camera, the VideoMask 310 seamlessly delivers a hands-free recording experience within a quality scuba mask. The camera is a great addition to your recording equipment and ideal for casual dives, capturing excellent quality video with minimal hassle.

During testing, the VideoMask 310 achieved high quality video and 5MP still imagery thanks to the powerful CMOS sensors and increased storage capability from SD/microSD cards, which provide up to 8GB of space. Where the original Liquid Image Explorer recorded approximately 20 frames per second, the VideoMask 310 records at a smooth 30 frames per second. Using the 720 x 480 D1 format, the VideoMask 310 produces files that play back smoothly on most computers, regardless of hardware.

Not only does the VideoMask 310 provide more, higher quality images, it is also remarkably simple to operate. The camera uses a straightforward point and shoot design, operating with only two buttons: Power/Mode and Shutter/Select. The Power/Mode button turns the camera on and off, and it toggles the camera between still image and video mode. The red Shutter/Select button allows users to take pictures and to start or stop video recording. A small status LED shows users which mode (still/video) the camera is in, whether a memory card is present, battery life, and the number of stored files. A blue light is used to indicate video, and it blinks when the VideoMask 310 is recording. A red light indicates that the camera is in still mode.

Another advantage of the VideoMask 310 is that it is certified waterproof up to 10m (33 ft), which makes it ideal for shallow dives, free diving, and snorkeling,. Rigorous testing revealed that this durable camera can withstand dives up to 85 feet!

While the idea of a hands-free diving experience is enticing, many divers probably have reservations about the functionality of the actual mask; so did our testers. They found that Liquid Image not only produced a durable camera, but they placed it inside a functional dive mask. The actual mask features a sturdy plastic frame, tempered glass lenses, strap mounts, battery compartments on both sides, low volume transparent silicone skirt, and the camera mechanism. While a transparent skirt can present a problem for some divers, the transparency is necessary since the skirt houses the recording light. Furthermore, the overall design of the VideoMask 310 reduces light issues commonly associated with transparent skirts. Additionally, the mask did not fog during testing and sealed properly.

Cons

The VideoMask 310 offers exciting advances for hands-free capture of high-quality video and still images; however, it does have some challenges. Like similar cameras, the VideoMask 310 works best with expensive lithium ion batteries. Additionally, the files are large, requiring 2GB for a 40-minute file; whereas, other cameras typically achieve an hour per gigabyte for recording.

Aiming the camera using the crosshairs proved difficult during testing at first, producing footage that was either too high or too low. Fortunately, any aiming issues are mitigated within a few minutes of practice. A wider angle lens would also be useful for capturing more of the surrounding environment.

Autofocus closer than .5m (1.7 ft) would improve the VideoMask 310. Two additional upgrades for Liquid Image to consider is underwater color correction to prevent footage filmed at greater depths from having a green tint and depth readout on the video.

Possibly the biggest challenge for the VideoMask 310 is acceptance. Many divers accustomed to $3,000 underwater rigs will be skeptical of the performance of this compact, affordable camera. Fortunately, at just $149.95, the VideoMask 310 makes it easy to try this new technology without much risk, and you just might just end up making folks with those $3k rigs jealous!
