The Animal Quest

This quest is good for people who can go on any rides and are not afraid to do so. It is good for people with attention to minute details.
Items necessary: admission to Disneyland park only, a copy of this page, a stop watch.
Description: In this quest, you will travel through Disneyland searching for animals so that you can check them off your list. Some of the animals will be real, most will be fake. Start your timer when you decide to start. You may stop at any time after one hour. Once you decide to stop, add up your total points and divide by the number of minutes it took you. The list of animals is:
[ ] (2 points) A Disneyland bird (real). Dubbed by my family as "Disneyland birds" these birds are about 4 inches tall.
[ ] (2 points) 3 big, brown bears (fake). Not Whinnie the Pooh. These three bears all appear on one ride.They are all supposed to be the same bear. Find all three of them in one trip to check this off your list.
[ ] (3 points) A HUGE snake (fake). On a ride.
[ ] (3 points) 2 African Bull Elephants. same ride. (fake)
[ ] (3 points) A dynamite-holding goat. (fake)
[ ] (2 points) Mickey Mouse himself (in a costume) (real person, anyway)
[ ] (1 point) Birds who sing. (fake)
[ ] (3 points) a giant whale. (fake, and not animitronic)
[ ] (1 point) a toad. (fake)
[ ] (10 points) a real, live mouse. Disneyland has a policy of not using mouse traps or other anti-mouse methods, for obvious reasons. Mice have been spotted in Disneyland before, by myself and a few others, but they are very hard to find. I can not even give a hint as to where one might find a mouse.

The Disneyland Picture Quest - by makerofquests

This quest can be done by anybody as long as they have a good eye and a bit of knowlege about the location of major (and not so major) landmarks throughout Disneyland park.

Items necessary: Admission to Disneyland park; an ipod or some other item which will download pictures, keep them in alphabetical order, and allow you to go through them at any time.

Description: This quest will challenge your knowlege of Disneyland park, as well as your ability to find symbols of the park, and your patience. Your goal is to find the location 68 pictures were taken at. The main items in the pictures are hidden all through the park, and you must locate them all. None of them requires you to go into a line or on a ride. I was very methodical in my picture taking, so you should be able to pick up a hint at the next location by seeing where the one before it was, or perhaps, by finding where the next item is; thus making an area where it must be hidden. The Quest starts at the Main Entrance.

I have uploaded the pictures to Picasa. If you have not downloaded Picasa, it is a free program Google offers. If you have a google account, go to "my account." There, you should be able to find the "try new stuff button" click it, and you should be able to find Picasa; download it. Then, click the web link below. This will lead you directly to the album with the 68 pictures. Try not to look at them, but click "download" at the top of the screen. Then, click "Download to Picasa" Then, create a new folder on your desktop. By then, the album should have appeared on Picasa. After selecting the new folder, click on the "export" button on the bottom folder. Browse to find the folder you want to send the pictures to, and then click "Ok"

In case you are unable to complete the steps above, I have split the pictures up into 6 different emails. Send me an email at makerofquests@gmail.com with the subject "The Disneyland Picture Quest" along with a request for the pictures of the quest. I will then send you six emails, each with about 12 pictures you can download to a folder. They will have the subject "Disneyland Quest Email" along with the number email it is. It could take 48 hours or more to recieve your photos, so please, for your and my convenience, use Picasa.

Either way, you have then to open itunes (assuming you are using an ipod), attach your ipod, and go to sync photos. Sync it to the folder the pictures are saved to. Be sure not to change the name of the pictures, for that will mess up the order. Once the pictures are on the ipod, be sure to look at the settings to make sure they are not on shuffle. Enjoy!

The Stair-Stepper Quest - by makerofquests

This quest can not be done by people in wheel chairs or people unable to go through the regular line. It also can not be done by people under 46 inches tall. It is good for those who want to do a quest which is simple, yet complex, and wants to travel all over the park. There is no particular order to do the quest in.

Items needed: a copy of the quest, a pencil (to write down the steps and the name of the rides), admission to both parks

Description: the quest is in the name: stair-stepper. Your mission is to find the six rides in both parks (three in each) which require you to go up stairs before the ride, and count the steps on each. Only rides with 10 or more steps count. Stairs after the ride do not count. Stairs going down do not count. Tower of Terror does not count (there is only a 50/50 chance that you will use the stairs). Count the steps by each time your foot goes up; this includes the top platform.

The Junior Ultimate Race Around Disneyland - by makerofquests

This quest is like "The Ultimate Race Around Disneyland" except people of all ages can complete it, and nothing should be considered "scary".

Necessary Items: Admission to Disneyland and California Adventure, a copy of this page.
Description: This quest will lead you all around both parks. It contains no trivia, and no questions. It is only a race to complete the list of rides as quickly as possible. It is best if you break up into two groups and start in the center between Disneyland and California Adventure. Then, each group goes to a different park, and, once they are done with that park, they switch and go to the other park, and then meet in the middle to see who gets there first.

The List of Rides are in alphabetical order (except the last one). There is no required order.

Animations Academy (located inside the Hollywood Pictures Backlot building) One starts every 30 minutes.

Children under 52 inches can not complete this quest. Nor can people with a fear of any adult rides. If you are doing this quest in a group, people incapable of going on a ride may wait at the exit.
