The games are being played at the Bradley Center (1001 N 4th Street) starting tomorrow. Tickets are still available so get them now.

This is the best look at the brackets I have found. It’s constantly being updated. It really helps me keep track of the winners! It includes dates and times of specific games. Just hold your mouse over your specific choice.

For those who don’t have an egg hunt of their own to anticipate, there are plenty of other Easter activities going on in the Milwaukee area that you can take part in.The first is having Breakfast and Lunch with the Bunny at the Milwaukee County Zoo. You can make reservations for either Saturday or Sunday, March 27th or 28th, 2010. It takes place from 9am to noon. For the ticket price, menu, and a schedule of all the activities visit their Web site. It is sponsored by Racine Danish Kringles.

Or how about an Afternoon with Peter Rabbit? From 10am to 3pm on Easter Sunday (April 4th) the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens will be hosting this event. There will be a petting zoo, sunflower cookie decorating, and of course your picture taken with Peter Rabbit. For the entire list of activities, ticket prices, and how to contact the FBBG for more information click here.

Whatever you decide to do this Easter season make it a family affair!

We will stay on Daylight Saving Time until the first Sunday in November when we “fall back”, setting our clocks one hour back before our heads hit the pillow.

Here’s the history of why Daylight Saving Time got started. It was way back during WWI. Very interesting! I was surprised to read there are a few parts of the US that don’t go to DST.

I received an e-mail recently covering several things my cell phone could do for me when I was in an emergency situation, locked my keys in the car, let my battery just about run down, had my cell stolen, or just wanted to call Directory Assistance for a phone number. I didn’t know about any of these items, so I was thrilled to find out about all of them and felt I wanted to share with all my friends.

Thankfully, one of the first two friends I shared it with gave me the bad news that this e-mail had been circulating since 2005 and there was only one of the five items it talked about that was true! I was devastated and felt ”taken in”. So, I am doing a different kind of sharing today, making you aware of this bogus e-mail and, better yet, aware of a site called Snopes where I could have checked the e-mail for accuracy before wasting my and everyone else’s time.

Just quickly, here’s basically what the e-mail covered:

1)Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find you are out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you. None of this is true for any of us in the good old USA.

2)Have you locked your keys in the car? Does your car have remote keyless entry? If you lock your keys in your car and the spare keys are at home, simply call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about 12 inches from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button while holding it near their cell phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Simply not true (but it sounded so real!).

3)Your cell phone actually has hidden battery power you may not have known about. Imagine your cell battery is very low (probably won’t be hard for most of us). To activate this hidden power press the keys *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell phone next time. Again, simply not true.

4)Do you know how to disable a stolen mobile phone? You will first need you phone’s serial number. To check your Mobile phone’s serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: *#06#. A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. If your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You guessed it, not true.

5)Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial: (800)FREE411, or (800) 373-3411without incurring any charge at all. It would be very smart to program this into your cell phone. This is the one Snopes says is true. I haven’t tested it yet but plan to soon.

So, there you have it. Disappointing and a big waste of time. But, I will be smarter next time I get an e-mail like this one. Check your facts first is my new motto.

There are two of them I am going to take in without fail. Then time permitting, hopefully a few more. The first is a film Nicholas Cage stars in called Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. Critics say it’s his best work. I would go to the ends of the earth to see him in any film he stars in.

The second film is actually a documentary called La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet. I love this art form and am anxious to see a behind the scenes look at this world.

Tickets are on sale now ($10 per viewing). Also, the viewing times are available here. Enjoy!

I got both of the flu shots back in December and January. I am very cautious though not to share food and to wash my hands thoroughly with soap and water whenever I can (I’ve also purchased some hand sanitizer to carry with me in case that is not always possible). I know these are two of the most common ways the flu virus is spread.

Let’s hope the flu season will be over soon, but in the meantime, if we follow just these two common sense rules it will keep our risk of contracting the flu to a minimum.

Wisconsin Ave.). The fun starts at 5:30 pm and is hosted by the Westown Association. Admission is free and entertainment is provided by Ian Gould and Reilly.

Then, the 44th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, presented by the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin, Westown Association, and Miller Lite is at Noon the next day (Saturday, March 13). It starts at 3rd and Wisconsin and proceeds to Highland and Water Streets. For the full parade route, names of the Parade Marshalls, names of the 2010 Irishman and Irish Rose, and so much more, check the club’s website.

The fun continues on through the week, and St. Patrick’s Day itself! Just take a look at the official website for the possibilities and then make your choices.

Happy St. Patty’s Day, Milwaukee!
