<p>In a blender, combine the orange, half-and-half or yogurt, orange juice concentrate, vanilla, and ice cubes. Then blend it how you prefer.</p>

Though we can’t hop in a time machine and relive those times there are some simple steps to where you can revisit that feeling. And on your next birthday you feel like you’ve subtracted the years!</p>

<p>Step 1:</p>
<p>We all hear that our body needs eight hours of sleep; it isn’t a lie. Our body is programmed in a way that with lack of the eight hours it will actually make you feel older than you really are. After six weeks you’ll find it very easy to do plus you will have much more energy then when you were getting a lack of sleep.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Step 2:</p>
<p>Eat clean and healthy foods. You need to start every meal out with a tall glass of water and either a fruit or vegetable. Loading up on vitamins and antioxidants will help you feel refreshed, recharged, and reenergized. Don’t be ashamed to enjoy a cookie at the end of a meal either. We all have a sweet tooth, there’s no need to completely hide it. As long as 90% of your meals are healthy that day then you can splurge on the last 10%, so grab that cookie and really enjoy it!</p>

<p>Step 3:</p>
<p>Hitting the gym will also make you feel a lot younger. When working out you actually produce micro tears in your muscles, which then allows for your muscles to heal and produce stronger and think fibers. This will allow you to be less vulnerable to injury and allow you to feel more energized.</p>

<p>Step 4:</p>
<p>It’s time to make your self look good. When you feel good about your appearance then chances are you’re going to feel good about yourself as a whole. Don’t feel shameful to get a new hairstyle, touch up your color, or relax yourself at a spa. When you feel good about yourself, you will end up feeling younger.</p>

<p>Step 5:</p>
<p>Doing everything in the same order will start to get pretty old. You have to mix things up and stimulate your brain! Your brain craves for excitement. Change your running route, change the order you get ready in the morning, change the café you stop by each morning. When you mix things up you’ll start to feel better.</p>

<p>Step 6:</p>
<p>All of our minds look in the present and future, never in the past. What kind of music did you used to listen to back in the day? Some punk rock maybe, did you get a little wild? Load some of this music onto your iPod or mp3. You might think this makes you feel ancient but actually studies have shown that it has done the exact opposite. A study at Harvard University showed that when people were placed in a setting back with the music, movies, and surroundings of their youth, their memory, vision, happiness level, and overall health showed vast improvements.</p>

<p>Step 7:</p>
<p>Staying positive is a major part of feeling young. You’re now to the point where you’ve been living in the real world for some time now. But ask yourself; do you stay as positive as possible? Chances are you get frustrated with the little things in life. This just leads to most stress and anger. If you take a positive approach to the situations whenever possible then you’ll feel a lot better.</p>

<p>1. For some people staying tan in the winter is a little hard. But nobody wants to go out on the beach looking super pale. There are a couple solutions to this problem. First, you can start up a membership to a tanning salon. This can be very relaxing and get you tan quickly but can also be a little expensive. If you’re not looking to spend a lot of money but you still want to look tan, there are some self tanning crèmes that you can purchase that make you look instantly tan without all the harmful UV rays.</p>

<p>2. The right bathing suit can make all the difference for you. Remember you’re going to be out soaking up the sun on the beach, you want the right bathing suit that fits you in all the ways. Chances are your old ones might not fit after this winter season. So now is the time to go out and get the perfect one. Make sure to try on various ones and even get others opinions on it. Pick out colors that look natural on you; too flashy can be bad. You want a bathing suit that is made just for you, so don’t settle for less.</p>

<p>3. Avoiding food and beverages that fill you up is the way to go. This includes but is not limited to caffeine, alcohol, salt, and dairy. In doing this you will avoid feeling awful but also looking better. So instead of kicking back with a soda and some ice cream, try staying hydrated and grab some water and munch on some fruits and veggies.</p>

<p>4. Though people don’t like to do it, keeping good posture will make a big difference and create an illusion. This will make you look several pounds thinner then slouching. So keep your shoulders down and think about trying to bring your shoulder blades closer together. This will automatically push your chest out and you&#8217;ll feel the urge to lift your chin too.</p>

Big time companies always want you to buy their product because they say its “The Best” or “The Newest.” This doesn’t always mean that it’s the best possible protein that you can buy. So I’m here to break it down for you on which protein is the best and the worst.</p>

<p>Lets start off with what protein is the best. In a powdered form the best protein would be Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard. Don’t be fooled by other brands that charge outrageous prices for the same quality. Gold Standard protein is one of the cheapest yet most efficient protein powders on the market. For a 5 pounds tub of this delicious powder it only runs around $55, and in that tub comes anywhere from 70-75 servings. Not only will this bring you the results you need with 24 grams of protein, 1 gram of fats, 3 grams of fats, and only 120 calories per serving but it is also the best tasting protein out there. With a variety of flavors you can choose the one you like the best.</p>

<p>Now lets talk about the worst protein for you. The worst for you is Cytosport Muscle Milk. Many people think that this protein is good for you but truth be told it really isn’t. This protein comes in powdered form, just like the Gold Standard, but the different is in the nutritional facts. Per serving in the powdered for you only get 16 grams of protein, 9 grams of fat, 9 grams of carbs, and 150 calories. Not to mention on the Cytosport’s website a 2.47 pound tub cost $55, and that’s only good for 32 servings</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Cross-Country Skiing</span></p>
<p>Long distance skiing is a very physical activity, burning the more calories than most physical activities.  One hour can help burn anywhere from 640 to 950 calories.  Skiing strengthens many muscles groups such as thigh muscles, gluteus maximus (bottom), gastrocnemius (calves), and biceps and triceps (upper arms).  For beginners, it is suggested that one prepares ahead of time by using an elliptical to avoid muscles strain and build up some endurance.  It is also important to stay hydrated and wear layers for easy movement and to avoid overheating.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Downhill Skiing</span></p>
<p>Unlike cross-country skiing, downhill skiing requires more short bursts of energy because one is going shorter distances at a faster pace.  This type of skiing works the hamstrings, quadriceps, calves, hip, and feet muscles.  As one becomes more advance, they should see an improvement in balance, flexibility, and leg and core strength.  Per hour this physical activity burns 360-570 calories per hour.  To perform downhill skiing in a healthy manor, make sure to drink an abundance of fluids and watch for fatigue due to quick energy loss.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Snowboarding</span></p>
<p>If skiing is not something that is of interest, snowboarding is another winter activity that is healthy and fun.  Working the calves, hamstrings, quadriceps, ankle, feet, and abdominal muscles, one can burn up around 480 calories per hour.  The thrill of shredding powder and performing tricks is also a way of boosting mental health, improving a person’s mood and confidence.  For any level of experience, make sure you know your limits.  Also wear proper safety gear including: helmet, wrist guards, and elbow guards.  It’s better to be safe than sorry.</p>

<p>For a more low impact winter activity, ice skating is a perfect fit.  Ice skating works mainly the lower body muscles- hips, hamstrings, quadriceps, and calves.  It also significantly increases a person’s balance, flexibility, and quickness.  The number one complaint for people who try ice skating is ankle pain.  To avoid this, make sure to get the right size skate, which tend to run a size below regular shoe sizes.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After months of exciting match-ups, it is down to two teams, the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens.  With this being a brother vs. brother head coach Super Bowl match-up along with it being the last game of Ray Lewis’ season, it should play out to be quite exciting.  Many households have may a tradition out of Super Bowl parties, inviting friends and family over and chowing down on an assortment of finger foods.  To help people stick to their New Year’s resolutions and get a jump-start on slimming down for springtime, here are a few snack foods that are short on calories but full of flavor.</p>

<li>Slice eggplants and sprinkle with olive oil.  Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.</li>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Hummus Dip</span></p>
<ul>
<li>2 (15 ounce) cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed</li>
</ul>
<p>¼ cup olive oil</p>
<p>1 tablespoon lemon juice</p>
<p>2 tablespoons chopped parsley</p>
<p>2 tablespoons minced garlic</p>
<p>1 ¼ teaspoon salt</p>
<p>½ teaspoon dark Asian sesame oil</p>
<p>½ teaspoon ground cumin</p>
<p>½ teaspoon black pepper</p>
<p>½ cup water</p>
<p>paprika, garnish</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Blend all of the ingredients except for the parsley and paprika.  Pour onto a serving plate and drizzle lightly with olive oil.  Then sprinkle parsley and paprika on top and serve.  Store at room temperature or in the fridge.</li>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Mixed Fruit Salad</span></p>
<ul>
<li>Combine berries, pineapple and watermelon.  Add a sliced lemon, Greek yogurt, and a tablespoon of honey.  Mix thoroughly.</li>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Mexican Dip</span></p>
<ul>
<li>Pico de gallo</li>
</ul>
<p>4 sliced and mashed avacados</p>
<p>2 limes</p>
<p>Sea salt for taste</p>
<p>Cilantro for garnish</p>
<ul>
<li>Combine pico de gallo and the avacados.  Squeeze the juice from the limes and add a few dashes of sea salt.  Top with cilantro as garnish and serve.  Serve with brown rice chips as a healthier option.</li>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Mango Shrimp Skewers</span></p>
<ul>
<li>1 pound shrimp, deveined and shelled</li>
</ul>
<p>1 flesh of a mango</p>
<p>1 teaspoon of cumin powder</p>
<p>1 jalapeno, seeded</p>
<p>salt to taste</p>
<ul>
<li>Puree the mango, cumin and jalapeno.  Then skewer the shrimp and cover them with half of the marinade.  Allow the shrimp to soak for a half hour.  Cook the shrimp until they are pink in color and top the skewers with the rest of the marinade.</li>
</ul>

<li>Cashews, drained cherries, dark chocolate chips</li>
<li>Almonds, walnuts, dried apricots, milk chocolate chips</li>

</ul>
<p>There are many other combinations to choose from, these are just a few favorites.</p>

<li>3 slices of whole wheat bread</li>
</ul>
<p>¼ cup milk</p>
<p>1½ pounds of ground turkey</p>
<p>3 scallions, chopped</p>
<p>2 garlic cloves, minced</p>
<p>2 tablespoons chopped parsley</p>
<p>1 egg</p>
<p>salt and pepper</p>
<ul>
<li>Place bread in a food processor until fine crumbs form.  Mix with milk; set aside for 5 minutes.  Combine the turkey, scallions, garlic, parsley, egg 1 ½ teaspoons salt, 1 ½ teaspoons pepper, and breadcrumb mixture; mix with a fork. Form meatballs with hands; arrange on a baking sheet with parchment paper.</li>
<li>Can freeze for up to 3 months</li>

Many people haven’t heard of this new type of workout but 9 times out of 10 this workout is going to be more extreme then the workout you are doing now. Also these workouts can be a lot less time consuming if your have a busy schedule! If you are tired of you old ordinary workout and want to get more out of yourself in less time then keep on reading!</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">All In One</span></p>
<p>Crossfit workouts give you everything that you need in all one workout. Now these workouts aren’t going to allow you to lift the world on your shoulders or run a mile in a minute, but when done right these workouts will be the best workouts you have done in your life. In a matter of 15-20 minutes you can have done more than what you usually do in your boring workouts or staring at the wall for an hour on a treadmill. These workouts can be described as “multidimensional.” This is because it just doesn’t include your stair stepping, bench press, or your bicep curls. Crossfit includes Olympic weightlifting, calisthenics, gymnastics, sprints, plyometrics and a few other miscellaneous exercises.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Intensity and Effort is Key </span></p>
<p>You only get out what you put in. That’s the key to these Crossfit workouts. In order to get the full effect of these workouts, you have to put in maximum effort and full out intensity. If you are used to taking your time in the gym and stopping and talking to someone then doing a set and then taking another long break, then these workouts are going to be a wake up call for you! Everyone wants to see results from going to the gym, but not everyone will put in the effort. With Crossfit if you put in the effort for the 15-20 minutes a day you will see results sooner than you will from just doing your average workout.</p>

<p>Here are a few workouts to start you off!</p>
<p><strong>Beginner WOD #1: The Ladder</strong><br />
Equipment needed: None</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Warm Up</span>:<br />
3 Rounds (go at your own pace, but try not to rest more than 5 or 10 seconds between movements, and only 20 or 30 seconds between rounds):<br />
50 jumping jacks<br />
10 push-ups<br />
10 air squats</p>
<p>30 second each side lunge stretch<br />
60 seconds butterfly stretch<br />
30 seconds Michael Phelps-style arm swings<br />
30 seconds wide arm circles forward<br />

Equipment Needed: Super lightweight bar for warm-up, 15-pound plate, or equivalent weight that can be held over your head</p>

Run 400 meters</p>
<p>15 slow-ish deep lunges, to stretch the hips and groin (walking or in-place)<br />
20 supermans<br />
60 seconds butterfly stretch<br />
30 seconds each leg pigeon stretch<br />
15 shoulder pass throughs (use lightweight bar)<br />
30 seconds each arm shoulder stretch across chest</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Workout</span>:<br />
12 minute AMRAP (As Many Rounds as Possible–so, work as hard as you can for 12 minutes and do as many rounds as possible of the following):<br />
10 lunges with 25# plate/other heavy object overhead (count each leg, arms locked out, core tight)<br />
15 air squats<br />
20 speed skaters (count each side)<br />
10 tuck jumps</p>
<p><strong>Beginner WOD #3: Upper Body</strong><b><br />
</b>Equipment Needed: Two sturdy chairs, a hand-weight that is moderate for you or the equivalent household object (a gallon of water weighs a little over 8 lbs, for example).</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Warm Up</span>:<br />
3 rounds:<br />
15 jumping jacks<br />
10 supermans<br />
7 push-ups</p>
<p>10 Michael Phelps-style shoulder swings<br />
15 each small, medium, and wide arm circles forward<br />
15 each small, medium, and wide arm circles backwards<br />
30 seconds each side shoulder stretch across chest<br />
30 seconds each side tricep stretch<br />
60 seconds this stretch<br />

<p>After opening her first gym in 2010, Madonna thought it would be a great idea to teach cardio classes to further improve the knowledge of members.  Alongside her trainer, Nicole Winhoffer, the classes became a success and the routines were turned into DVD sets called &#8220;Addicted to Sweat.&#8221;  As a busy woman with a tight schedule, Madonna realizes that having a fit body is important for staying energized and getting through each day.</p>
<p>The 4-disc collection includes programs based on Madonna&#8217;s workout routines, incorporating some of the choreography from her past tours and music videos.  Hard Candy Fitness&#8217; results-driven techniques are challenging, but as Madonna says, &#8220;No sweat, no candy.&#8221;</p>

<p>Many people in the past have tried many diets and studies for this New Year have shown that those diets just aren’t working anymore. Dietitians have been working hard to find out what the best diets are for people. Most dietitians have stated that the whole fad with low-carb and low-fat diets is becoming a thing of the past now. With new research coming out the new diet type is wheat free/gluten free diets. This has shown in research and backed by most of the dietitians in the nation that this is a very effective way of dieting. Also a way of dieting that is climbing its way to the top is eating natural and simple meals with very few ingredients. Ingredients flavor and make our food the way you want it to be but using few ingredients has been proven to be a healthier way of dieting.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Commercial Diets Still Strong</span></p>
<p>Most people who watch TV have seen the commercials for diet programs such as Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers. Don’t be frightened by them just because they’re on TV. Studies have proven that these commercials diets are one of the best and easiest ways of putting yourself into a healthier lifestyle. With these programs you actually can see the transformation that people have gone through to get where they’re at now with these programs. This provides motivation and since people have to pay for diet they are more likely to follow through with it.</p>

<p>It shouldn’t be rocket science to know that fruits and veggies are still the best way to go about dieting. They contain fiber, potassium, cancer fighting antioxidants, vitamins, and the list goes on and on. I mean who doesn’t like fresh fruit? These two food groups taste good and are some of the best foods for you. To cut cost buy fruits that are in season and frozen vegetables are still good as well, all you have to do is buy the steamer bags that you can fix in the microwave.</p>

<h1>Spiced Salmon with Mustard Sauce</h1>
<p>teaspoons whole-grain mustard</p>
<ul>
<li>1 teaspoon honey</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper</li>
<li>1/8 teaspoon garlic powder</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon salt</li>
<li>4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Preheat broiler.</li>
<li>Combine first 6 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring well with a fork. Rub mustard mixture evenly over each fillet. Place fillets, skin side down, on a jelly-roll pan coated with cooking spray. Broil 8 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork or until desired degree of doneness</li>

<li>Pistou:</li>
<li>1 cup fresh basil leaves</li>
<li>1/4 cup (1 ounce) grated fresh Parmesan cheese</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon grated lime rind</li>
<li>2 tablespoons fresh lime juice</li>
<li>1 1/2 tablespoons extravirgin olive oil</li>
<li>1/8 teaspoon salt</li>
<li>3 garlic cloves, chopped</li>
<li>Grouper:</li>
<li>4 (6-ounce) grouper fillets (about 1/2 inch thick)</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon salt</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>1. To prepare pistou, combine first 7 ingredients in a food processor; pulse until finely chopped. Let stand 10 minutes.</li>
<li>2. Prepare grill.</li>
<li>3. To prepare grouper, sprinkle fish evenly with salt and pepper. Place fish on grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill 4 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Serve with pistou.</li>

<h1>Citrus Chicken</h1>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>1/4 cup orange juice</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon grated lime rind</li>
<li>2 tablespoons fresh lime juice</li>
<li>2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme</li>
<li>2 teaspoons bottled minced garlic</li>
<li>1 teaspoon grated orange rind</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon salt</li>
<li>1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper</li>
<li>1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast cutlets</li>
<li>1 tablespoon olive oil</li>
<li>Cooking spray</li>
<li>6 cups bagged prewashed baby spinach</li>
<li>1 (3.5-ounce) bag boil-in-bag brown rice (such as Uncle Ben&#8217;s)</li>
<li>2 tablespoons butter, divided</li>
<li>1 pound chicken breast cutlets (about 4 cutlets)</li>
<li>3/4 teaspoon salt, divided</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper</li>
<li>1/2 cup refrigerated apple cider</li>
<li>1 teaspoon Dijon mustard</li>
<li>1/4 cup chopped pecans</li>
<li>2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley</li>
</ul>
<ol start="1">
<li>Combine first 8 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring well with a whisk. Pour 1/4 cup juice mixture into a large zip-top plastic bag. Add chicken to bag. Seal; let stand 5 minutes. Add oil to remaining juice mixture; stir well with a whisk.</li>
<li>Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Remove chicken from bag; discard marinade. Add chicken to pan; cook 4 minutes on each side or until done. Place 1 1/2 cups spinach on each of 4 plates. Divide chicken evenly among servings; top each serving with 1 tablespoon juice mixture.</li>

<h1>Cider-Glazed Chicken with Browned Butter-Pecan Rice</h1>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>1. Cook rice according to package directions in a small saucepan, omitting salt and fat; drain.</li>
<li>2. While rice cooks, melt 1 teaspoon butter in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle chicken with 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper. Add chicken to pan; cook 3 minutes on each side or until done. Remove from pan. Add cider and mustard to pan, scraping pan to loosen browned bits; cook 2 to 3 minutes or until syrupy. Add chicken to pan, turning to coat. Remove from heat; set aside.</li>
<li>3. Melt remaining 5 teaspoons butter in saucepan over medium-high heat; cook for 2 minutes or until browned and fragrant. Lower heat to medium; add pecans, and cook for 1 minute or until toasted, stirring frequently. Add rice and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt; toss well to coat. Serve rice with chicken. Sprinkle with parsley</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Breakfast Taco</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2 corn tortillas</li>
<li>1 tablespoon(s) salsa</li>
<li>2 tablespoon(s) shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese</li>
<li>1/2 cup(s) liquid egg substitute</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Top tortillas with salsa and cheese. Heat in the microwave until the cheese is melted, about 30 seconds.</li>
<li>Meanwhile coat a small nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Heat over medium heat, add egg substitute and cook, stirring, until the eggs are cooked through, about 90 seconds. Divide the scrambled egg between the tacos.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Bagels Gone Bananas</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2 tablespoon(s) natural nut butter, such as almond, cashew, or peanut</li>
<li>1 teaspoon(s) honey</li>
<li>1 pinch(s) salt</li>
<li>1 whole-wheat bagel, split and toasted</li>
<li>1 small banana, sliced</li>
</ul>
<p>Stir together nut butter, honey, and salt in a small bowl. Divide the mixture between bagel halves and top with banana slices.</p>

<p>For the past 80 years long, before <strong>Jillian Michaels</strong> found fame on the Biggest Loser or <strong>Jane Fonda</strong> released her workout tapes “The <a  rel='wpls'  href="http://hotspill.com/buy/bestsellers/propecia.html">Propecia buy</a>  Godfather of Fitness” <strong>Jack LaLanne</strong> has been promoting a healthy lifestyle and better fitness techniques for all Americans. Sunday LaLanne lifted his last dumbbell; he dies at the age of 96! LaLanne was seen very recently working out on ABC’s Good Morning America, proving that his healthy way of life was something we should all invest some energy in.<br/><br />
LaLanne opened a fitness studio outside of Oakland California in 1936; he was cutting edge even then it was the first to offer weight training for women and athletes. That might seem strange today, but was very uncommon in those days. While operating this club he invented many of the weight machines we still use today. In 1951 he took to the airwaves on a local San Francisco television channel by 1959 it was airing on television nationwide and continued for the next 20 years. He used his television show to promote physical activity, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle. His exercises could be done with little more than a towel and stool no special or expensive equipment.<br/><br />
LaLanne became his own trademarked brand marketing his exercise equipment, tapes and later his power juicer on television wearing his signature jump suit and often times joined by his wife.  Upon his death his wife Elaine, released the following in a statement: &#8220;I have not only lost my husband and a great American icon, but the best friend and most loving partner anyone could ever hope for.&#8221;<br/><br />
Both Fitness Guru Richard Simmons and Former CA Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and famous body builder called Jack Lallane their inspiration and both considered him a personal friend and mentor.  The former Mr. Universe Schwarzenegger was constantly impressed by his “super human abilities”. We can all take a page out of his book and try to live a healthier and in turn longer life.</p>
