I have mentioned on one of my post that my doctor said that I don’t have diabetes. At first I was relieved with what I heard but after going to the private doctor I found out that there is nothing to celebrate if my disease is nephritic syndrome.

What is nephritic syndrome?

Nephritic syndrome is a health problem that affects the kidney; it usually is diagnosed with a lot of different signs causing the doctor to make a wrong move against the problem at hand. The treatment usually depend son the level of infection on the kidney. It would better to consult your doctor about the different treatment since it varies from cases to case.

I think that I would love to have diabetes than to have nephritic syndrome simply because I have been doing some research about diabetes and found a lot of ways to control it. It would be troublesome to find out that the result of my test will prove having the syndrome since I couldn’t find any cure for it. I have to work with the doctor to cure it if it is only on the curable stage.

I am going to find out this Monday whether I have it or not. I just hope that I don’t have it or that I have it but it could be cured without undertaking dialysis and the need to replace my kidney.

I am going to update you abut the results this coming Monday. Wish me luck!

Counting calories is good way to loose weight since you are able to control how much calories are you taking in your body. If you will consult a gym instructor then you would notice that this would take play a major role on loosing some weight. This is also true to controlling diabetis.

You need to understand that once you have diabetes then you should be controlling the amount of carbohydrates that you are eating. The reason for this is because carbohydrates produce glucose, which is used by our body for energy. If you have type 2 diabetes then the amount of insulin your body produce will not be enough to control the rising of your blood sugar level. You will need to combine exercising with diet so that your body can use the energy through exercise and limit the production of glucose by diet.

Generally everything that we eat produces sugar in our blood. We can control the production of glucose by the use of insulin that is being produced by our pancreas but once that we have diabetes, it’s ability to create the right amount of insulin is limited, this produce some problem that may lead to complications from diabetes.

A new research about diabetes and early pregnancy has been link together. Reports are saying that there is a 50% chance of having gestational diabetes during the first trimester that a woman is pregnant.

It is a three-years old study where they followed 1,145 northern California women while they are still pregnant. The Institute of Medicines has guidelines that must only gain between 1.1 pounds to 4.4 pounds during the trimester period, in spite of whatever the woman’s beginning weight is. Those women that ahs normal weight should only gain between 25 and 35 pounds during their pregnancy period while those obese should only gain 11 to 20 pounds or else they are getting a higher risk of developing gestational diabetes. It is said that those women who gained the most during their pregnancy has a higher chances of having gestational diabetes than those who gain less pounds.

Today must be one of the longest days for me since I got to Manila East. It is a private hospital here on Rizal. It is my first time going to a private hospital so I am not that familiar.

I arrive there at about 11:00, asking some information to the information area and she referred me to the third floor were I could talk to a nephrologist, it is a doctor that specializes on kidney problem. So I got to the third floor and talk to Dr. Ordinal where he instructed me to go to the laboratory area to have my urine and blood sample tested. He also told me to talk to them about what should I do. I left and forgotten to pay the professional since I am not familiar with private and also many thoughts are roaming in my head.

At the laboratory, the nurse there told me on what I should do. She told me save all the urine for about 24 hours. She doesn’t care on how much it is and that I don’t need to fast when I got my blood samples taken. She ask whether I should pay now but I told her that I will pay late since my money is not yet enough.

I had to go to my sister and ask her to lend me money to add to my money. So we were talking about the hospital event and she then told me that private hospital doctors never ask about their professional fee and that I should be the one that will ask about it.

Next time, I will ask him about it and that I am going to pay for today’s fee and also the fee for that day, I just hope that he didn’t get angry with me. So this is my first trip to a private hospital. I am just a newbie when it comes to private hospitals.

If you have diabetes then you are going to control all about your lifestyle. It will start with the food intake and then move on to other healthy habits.

At least, this is what I believe in when I was first diagnosed having diabetes. I tried to change my eating habits since I need to lessen the sugar that is present on my body. It was only later that I discovered that there are such products for diabetics so that I could fully enjoy all the meal that normal people are enjoying.

Glucerna Homemade Vanilla shake

Some of the product features are as follows:

Formulation upgrade, and now in a reclosable plastic bottle

220 calories for a great meal replacement

Xtend Sucromalt, a natural sweetener made from sugar and maltose that is absorbed slowly and helps control blood sugar

Chromium picolinate to help one’s own insulin work better

Hearth healthy ingredients, Omega-3 fatty acid and ENOVA oil to lower triglyceride levels and improve cirulatory health

Some are using this on their shakes so that they could enjoy sweet once more. Blending it with a banana is a good way to get some protein.

So far, I haven’t been taking metformin for days now and I could see that I could easily control it. But just now I found out that my blood sugar is 340. Maybe this is because I did drink coffee in the morning and didn’t control my eating habit. Or maybe this is the result of not taking in my medication. Whatever the problem is I think that I would just wait until Friday since I will get my money on that day for my test result.

Scientist is claiming that dolphins may hold the answer for curing diabetis for good. Researchers have found that some dolphin has adult onset diabetes but they could turn it off or on whenever they needed to.

dolphins holds key to cure diabetes

This discovery has unlocked the door for treating diabetes that is present on human beings; there is also a possibility that this new information could give the cure for diabetes.

For humans having diabetes means that there lives are in danger and thus their days are already numbered but for a bottlenose dolphin it could mean survival. The latter are using it as a mean to cope with food shortage.

When they can’t see anything to eat, they are activating their diabetes thus enabling them to use the sugar as a source of energy. Once they have spotted the food they will tell their pancreas to produce insulin again so that their blood sugar level are at normal again.

National Marine Mammal Association in San Diego California, Dr Stephanie Venn-Watson believes that this ability is also present on our pre-historic ancestor but was gone when we rely on technology to make it easy for us.

If we could only understanding how the forgotten ability works and learn how can we switch it off and on might hold the answer to our diabetes problem.

The doctor made it clear the test would not be done on live subjects but from the DNA samples that is taken from captive dolphins. After that, flippers DNA would be compared to that of the human being.

Some animal right activist are trying to hold this test and claiming that dolphins are not to be experimented in any way.

A spokesman for the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society said: ‘Dolphins are intelligent and sophisticated animals which are vulnerable to stress and suffering when confined and removed from their natural environment and societies.’

New York Times claimed that about 300 cases of heart attacks and 500 cases of heart failure could have been prevented if only they weren’t given this drug to treat their diabetes. Avandia who is said to be given to type 2 diabetes in order to heighten the insulin that is present on the body also causes death.

“Rosiglitazone should be removed from the market,” one report, by Dr. David Graham and Dr. Kate Gelperin of the Food and Drug Administration, concludes. Both authors recommended that Avandia be withdrawn.

Manufactured by the pharmaceutical company GlaxosmithKline. Avandia is also called Rosiglitazone. Once one of the biggest drug that is sold all over the world but once that people find out of the adverse effect, it s sales has tremendously decreased.

vinegar

There has been studies before that proves that vinegar could help in controlling the glucose in a type 2 diabetis but now some researchers proves that it also can be done to type 1 diabetes. Researchers are claiming that it could also help those people suffering from type 1 diabetes to even more control their diabetes.

To conclude whether vinegar can do some wonders for type 1 diabetic. They have ask 10 men who’s suffering from type 1 diabetes to be part of their study. With age ranging from 29 to 35 years old and that has been diagnosed having the sickness around 15 years prior to having diabetes. The participants were told to fast overnight in preparation for the study. The 10 men were separated and group in to two groups. One is ordered to consume vinegar (30 milliliters of vinegar and 20 milliliters of water), while the other is given placebo (50 milliliters of water) prior to eating their meal. The blood samples were collected before they eat and were later repeated after 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, and 240 minutes to measure the blood sugar level.

The information showed clearly that both the group has the same blood sugar level prior to eating. However they notice the difference after 30 minutes, the group that take the placebo suddenly rise while the vinegar group didn’t have any rise on their blood sugar.

It was proven from previous studies that acetic acid, which is the main component of vinegar, improves glucose compartment both in the liver and muscle tissue.

Some researchers are saying that taking two tablespoon of vinegar could easily replace the use of insulin for those who are suffering from hyperglycemia (blood sugar rising).

Well known for its benefits on boosting the immune system, antioxidants to prevent high blood pressure. Black tea has been proven that it has diabetes health benefit. The Journal of Food Science recently published that it may help in controlling diabetis.

Nest to water, tea is the most consumed beverage in the world. A group of Chinese researchers has conducted a study about all kind of teas, to find out if they could be used to control diabetes. To be specific, they look for a type of polysaccharide that can help reduce the glucose.

Of all the teas that were examined, they found out that the polysaccharides present on black tea have the ability to control diabetes.

“The black tea polysaccharides showed the highest scavenging effecting free radicals which are also involve in the development of cancer and rheumatoid arthritis,” as stated by the study authors.

“Many Effort have been made to search effective glucose inhibitors from natural materials,” said lead researcher Haixia Chen.

The black tea’s potential to help control diabetes is big.
