4D sonogram pictures

I went to the doctor today for my 26 week check up and everything looks great. The baby is a little over 2 pounds and just the cutest thing EVER! My doctor surprised me and took some 4D pictures of the baby.

I can't stand it, I just love this baby more than I could ever express with words!

Look at that nose and those lips!

When I showed Kenya the pictures (she wasn't at the doctors office with me) she said "Mommy baby jealous popped out." The pictures looked so real she thought I had just come back from having the baby.

I am now more excited than ever to meet our sweet baby in just 11 weeks.

Happy Reformation Day! (Reformation & Solas History)

Yes, yes, I know you may have been expecting a Happy Halloween, but I wanted to talk about a different holiday that happens today that not many that I have talked to this past month are aware of,...Reformation Day!

If you are in a church where:

The Bible is read (in a language you understand)
The Bible is preached (in a language you understand)
You sing songs based off Biblical truths (in a language you understand)
Pray prayers (in a language you understand) and are Biblical in content
You are taught that you are justified by grace alone through faith alone by Christ alone

Then you are in debt to these men involved in the Reformation. All those things listed above, before the Reformation, were neither being practiced or taught.

Even more than that, on a non-religious level, we probably wouldn’t have the form of Republican government that we have today. A Democracy, capitalism, the sciences (as we have them today), educational system, and family life as we do today.

Sociologist Peter Burger said the reformation is the most amazing organizational achievement in the history of man, based on the network of friendships, and these men pressing forward toward the same goal to change churches and nations.

Martin Luther, who sparked the start of the Reformation, is said to be amongst the top 3 most influential men of last millennium.

Even if you just have the Bible in your own language, then you can thank God for the Reformers.

So what is the Reformation?

Since many don't know what this holiday is let me give this brief overview:

On October 31, 1517 a obscure German monk by the name of Martin Luther nailed a list of 95 theses to the door of the church in Wittenberg. He was protesting the abuse of indulgences in the church. In particular he was offended by Johann Tetzel, one of the Monks who had been sent out by the Pope to raise money for the building of St. Peter’s basilica in Rome.

In Roman Catholicism indulgences were a remission of a certain amount of time in Purgatory granted to the repentant sinner for a number of different reasons. One way to gain an indulgence was to go on a pilgrimage to a distant land. Today an
opportunity to go to the Holy Land would be considered a special privilege. But travel in medieval Europe was a major hardship, filled with many dangers - and a trip to Israel would only be undertaken because of the granting of an indulgence. To be fair we need to say that Roman Catholic theology required that the penitent sinner have a godly sorrow for his sins for the indulgence to be of any value. Tetzel, though, was going around selling indulgences as a “get out of jail free card.” He had a little slogan he used to promote his activities that went “As soon as a coin in the coffer rings, a soul from purgatory springs.”

Luther’s initial protest was not against the granting of indulgences but against abuses of granting indulgences practiced by Tetzel (and against the Pope's authority). It needs to be remembered that what Luther did in nailing his theses to the church door was not an act of rebellion. This was the normal method used by scholars to call for debate on an issue. Support for this statement lies with the fact that the theses were written Latin (the scholarly language) and not in German (the common language).

However, some enterprising students copied the theses, published them - and within a few weeks they were all over Germany. This was the precipitating event of the
Reformation of the church. The flame of reformation was soon kindled across
Europe. Ulrich Zwingli in Switzerland, Thomas Cramer and Hugh Latimer in
England and John Knox in Scotland were just a few of the reformers that God used
to awaken His church.

The changes that God brought about through the Reformation were not merely
cosmetic. Though there were massive changes in the liturgy, the fundamental change was the recovery of the Biblical Gospel as seen in the slogan of the reformers -
“After darkness light!”

Another change that came about was a radical departure from the medieval way of interpreting Scripture. The church had gotten off track very early through the influence of Origen who promoted allegorical interpretation. Today we use the literary historical method which examines the text according to the literary form (such as historical narrative, didactic or teaching texts, poetry, etc.) and asks the question, “What did the author mean in this text? (This question requires us to consider the historical setting.) This change in our understanding of how to interpret Scripture was not just a reformation, but a revolution!

Often the Reformation is understood in light of the five “solas,” (sola being the Latin word for alone.)

Sola Scriptura - Scripture alone
Sola Gratia - Grace alone
Sola Fide - Faith alone
Sola Christus - Christ alone
Soli Deo Gloria - All to the glory of God alone

The scriptures were seen as the formal cause of the Reformation. It was the issue of
authority - the Bible or the church - that was behind the other issues in question. Was the Bible the only authority for all faith and practice or was it the church, as Rome said. The principle of Sola Scriptura did not mean that there was no teaching office in the church. It meant that the church must interpret the text according to what it actually teaches and not according to the traditions of the church.

The absolute necessity for and the sufficiency of the Grace of God in the salvation of
every individual was seen by the reformers as a critical issue. This truth did not come first from the pen of John Calvin. Martin Luther was proclaiming Sola Gratia years before John Calvin was even a Christian. Luther’s book, The Bondage of the Will, was written as a response to The Freedom of the Will written by the Roman Catholic humanist scholar, Desiderius Erasmus. Erasmus’ position (on this subject) was essentially the same as the Arminian position that is so prevalent in the church today.

Sola Fide was called the material cause of the Reformation. The material cause was the doctrine over which the battle raged. It was in the foreground while Sola Scriptura was in the background. The reformers said that faith alone was the means of our justification. It must be remembered that the Roman Catholic Church did not deny the necessity of faith. What Rome opposed was “faith alone.” The reformers acknowledged that true faith would produce good works, but said that those works
followed faith and did not contribute to our acceptance by God. We are saved, they
said, by faith alone, but not by a faith that is alone.

Sola Christus says that Christ alone is the meritorious cause of our salvation. Roman Catholicism said that while our works were not as meritorious as those of Christ, they did have sufficient merit that it was fitting to reward them. It has been well said that Jesus Christ supplemented is Jesus Christ supplanted. That is, if you add anything to the requirement of Christ alone for salvation, then you have replaced him.

Soli Deo Gloria taught that since the other solas were true, all honor and glory
belonged to God for our salvation. While no one would be so bold as to say that the
glory for our salvation should be shared and deny that all glory belonged to God, that was the net affect of the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. What the
reformer’s clearly saw was that the Bible taught that our justification was by Grace
Alone through Faith Alone in Christ Alone - all to the Glory of God Alone.

There was also an essential difference in the understanding of the doctrine of
justification between Protestants and Roman Catholics. Luther and the other
reformers said that justification was the legal decree of God that we were righteous
based on the imputation of Christ’s righteousness to our account. (Abraham believed God and He reckoned it to him as righteousness). This righteousness, they said, was an alien righteousness, one that came from outside of ourselves. Our righteousness
was as “filthy rags.”

In contrast, the Roman Church said that in order for God to declare us righteous we must actually be righteous. This is sometimes called analytical righteousness - that is God analyzes us, and when He see’s that we are righteous, He declares us to be righteous. It was this teaching that so vexed Martin Luther. He used to spend hours in the confessional meticulously reciting his sins of the previous day but without finding peace.

Most of us have defense mechanisms that allow us to continue to function despite our sins. Luther saw more clearly than anyone else of his day that his efforts to placate a Holy God were useless. But, God broke through his despair and awakened in Luther the truth of the Scripture - “The just shall live by Faith” Romans 1:17.

In conclusion I thank God for these men, for they revived the true saving gospel. A gospel that relies on God for our salvation not any works of man:

yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
- Galatians 2:16

Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for "The righteous shall live by faith."
- Galatians 3:11

You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.
- Galatians 5:4

Oh sinner, let me plead with you, trust Christ, there is NO hope in the flesh, no hope in your good works, no hope in keeping the law. There is only hope in believe what Christ says to do, to repent, and to trust alone in Him for your salvation.

Christian, let us not go back to any system that teaches a false gospel:

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel
-- not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.
As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man?
If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel.
For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it,
but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

I just wanted to tell you all that today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. If you have ever lost a baby due to miscarriage, still birth or if your baby died after birth today is a day for you to remember you baby/ babies and a day for us to pray for all the families who have lost little one.

Getting a positive result on a pregnancy test is such an exciting day. It's a day you know your family will be changed forever. You start wondering is it a boy or girl, when will I start showing, I can't wait for my first sonogram. It is a time filled with so much joy until you receive the news that will also change your life forever. You are told your baby no longer has a heartbeat or you are told that you baby most likely wont live long after birth or you deliver you baby who has already gone to be with Jesus.

All of these moments will change our lives forever.

I want you to know that God is good through it all. We may not ever fully know why these things happen other than they were for God's glory and our good. But you can all rest knowing that God is sovereign even over suffering.

I wanted to share with you guys some verses that really encouraged me after Melody and Madison died.

Ecclesiastes 7:1-4
A good name is better than precious ointment,
and the day of death than the day of birth.
It is better to go to the house of mourning
than to go to the house of feasting,
for this is the end of all mankind,
and the living will lay it to heart.

Melody and Madison I will always remember and love you. I'm so thankful that God choose me to be y'alls Mother. I will always cherish the time God gave us with you guys!

Flash Back Friday

My sister Brandi and I were pregnant at the same time with our first babies. She was due a few months after me so Kenya was going to be the first grandbaby on both sides. I was so excited about that!

Well it wasn't too long after that my sister developed preeclampsia which turned into eclampsia and they had to deliver my nephew at 27 weeks. When she first told me she was going to be delivering that day I told her, "You better not have the first grand-baby." Can you tell I'm a little competitive? Of course I was joking and was worried about her and my nephew. She ended up delivering him September 2, 2006 at 27 weeks weighing 2 pounds 5 ounces and 16 inches long.

He was so tiny and so cute!

Here is Dilan now. He just turned 3 and you would never know he was a preemie.
Kenya and Dilan love getting to spend time together (which they don't get to do very much since my sister lives out of state.)
We love you Dilan even if you did beat Kenya getting here! :)

Where has Destinee gone???

Hello everyone,

I have been meaning to write this post for quite some time but obviously I just haven't done it yet. Since we've been asked several times I thought it was about time.

Destinee has been living with us since March of 2006. We loved, loved, loved her being a part of our family. Destinee decided that she wanted to live with our Mom and Step Dad a while back but we wanted to pray and make sure it was the right choice first. So after talking to everyone involved we all decided it was the best choice for Destinee and she moved back in with our Mom and Step Dad some time during this summer (I can't remember exactly when?) It has been going great.

She is about to turn 16 and get her drivers license, I can't believe she is old enough to drive!!! We go to my Mom's house once a week for dinner, so we still see her at least once a week.

Kenya has done really well with the transition, at first she asked all the time where Destinee was now it has finally set in that she lives with "Momo" (that's what Kenya calls my Mom). I hope that clears things up a little.
We love Destinee dearly and are so excited to see her relationship restored with my Mom.

22 weeks 3 days

I am now 22 weeks and 3 days pregnant, can you believe that!?! I had a check up today and the baby is measuring right on track. I must have been on the V.I.P. list today because I walked in and they called me straight back to get my sonogram. I was in and out of there in about thirty minutes (normally it is several hours just in the waiting room). It was great!

The baby is now 1 pound and 2 ounces I couldn't believe our baby was over a pound. I was so excited after this visit, it just really started to sink in that we were going to have a baby. This pregnancy has flown by I know we will be holding our baby before we know it.

21 Weeks 5 Days/ Nesting like crazy

For a few days now I have had a HUGE urge to nest. It has taken over so I have given into this urge and I took pictures for you all to see.

The car seat and stroller are ready to go.
The diaper bag is packed yes packed with diapers, wipes, safety kit, plastic bags (for poopie diapers), well everything a normal diaper bag would have.

I have also pulled out a few boy blankets,
girl blankets and some neural ones.

Boy clothes, girl clothes and neural ones are ready!

Diapers, wipes and other necessity's have all been purchased and are ready to be use.
We are completely ready at this point to bring the baby home from the hospital. The only problem is I still have three and a half months to go. When I think about the fact I have done everything that needs to be done I laugh because that's just crazy, right?

I think a lot of the reason I have has this urge is because I didn't get to do this for Melody and Madison. Of course we bought them a few outfits and bows but we never knew if we were going to get to bring them home. So for me to get to plan for a baby is beyond exciting!

Of course I know that we are never 100% guaranteed that we are going to get to bring the new baby home but so far everything looks good and we are praising God for that!

I look forward to whatever the Lord has in store for our family and I so glad that we can share it with all of you!

update on baby Jealous/ 18 week sonogram

I went to the doctor last week for my 18 week check up and Jason and Kenya were able to go with me this time. It is always such a joy to have them there. It is at the same time a little nerve racking if Kenya is there because we normally wait about two and a half hours to see the doctor. I try to bring her tons of things to do so that she doesn't get board, and thankfully it normally works. But this time we were in for a special treat...

Kenya decided to sleep the whole first hour after that she played with her toys and colored in her coloring book quietly!

While we were waiting for the doctor Kenya enjoyed some snuggle time with baby Jealous (that is what Kenya calls the baby, she named it after Papa T and Wita's cat whom she loves very much!)

This was a pretty big sonogram for us because it was the sonogram where the doctor was going to be checking to make sure everything was okay with the baby. I had such mixed feelings going. I was okay with not knowing if something was wrong but I also wanted to know if there was anything wrong so we could be prepared.

I just wanted to say really quick that we found out that our baby is completely healthy I will explain more about that later I just didn't want you to get the wrong idea by what I'm about to say.

God has used what we went through with Melody and Madison to change my heart is such a big way. Before we found out about the girls I got so overwhelmed thinking about taking care of a baby with special needs but after we found out about them I just instantly went into "Mommy Mode" and would have done whatever needed to be done to help them. Of course there was nothing that could have been done to help our girls but it was just amazing to look back and see the change in my heart.

[In fact, God changed my heart so much that Jason and I really wanted to adopt a little girl from China that needed a heart transplant. You can read more about her and two other little girls that really need to find good homes in America to get the treatment they need. China is making a lot of exception to get these three girls to America so please check out this link http://www.halfthesky.org/work/3littlegirls.php and please please pray these girls would find families. We were not able to move forward with adopting one of them because there was just no way that I could be in the hospital with one of our children while taking care of a newborn. It broke my heart not to be able to do it though!]

Okay back to the doctors visit...
As my doctor was doing the sonogram he said the brain was normal, the head shape was normal, the bowels, kidneys and stomach were all normal but when he got to the heart he got really quiet for a few minutes... okay, it was maybe a minute but much longer than it took for him to tell us about everything else. So I just knew something was wrong until he finally said the heart is a normal four chamber heart and the arteries look great. It was such a relief to hear that our baby is healthy but also hard to believe. I still don't think I am going to totally be at peace until I'm holding my crying baby. Don't get me wrong I'm not stressed out or worrying but it still doesn't seem real.

I can feel the baby move a lot now and Jason has even gotten to feel it a few times. Kenya loves touching my belly and saying, "Did you feel that? The baby kicked." She is so cute and she can't wait for this baby to be born. Everyday she tells me, "Your belly will get bigger and bigger and bigger then the baby will POP OUT!" She thinks she has it all figured out :)

Today is celebrate conjoined twins day!

Hello everyone I just wanted to let you all know that today is Celebrate Conjoined Twins Day!

From Melody Joy and Madison Hope

After we found out we were having conjoined twins last year we felt so alone we didn't know anyone one who knew anyone that knew anyone with conjoined twins. Thankfully Jason's Aunt Stephanie found a support group for families of conjoined twins online. There are about 30 families that are members of that group. The more we talked with everyone the more we felt like we were not alone but a part of a very special group of people!

Today families of conjoined twins will remember the babies who have passed away be releasing balloons in their memory and rejoice with the families who's twins are still alive.

Jason and I wont be able to celebrate until next week because we are about 12 hours away from each other right now but after we do celebrate I will post pictures!

one year ago today/ 14 week sonogram

One year ago today I was 19 weeks pregnant, my Mom, Destinee, Jason, Kenya and I all loaded up and headed to my midwifes office to have our first sonogram for that pregnancy (see that video here). We couldn't wait to see the baby. I was wondering, "could it be twins???" We were all shocked and surprised to find out that we would not only be having twins but they were conjoined. I wrote more about that here.

Our lives were forever changed that day. Thinking back to everything we went through with the twins it just amazes me that is has already been a year. When I remember that day I remember calling our closest family and friends so excited to tell them we were having twins but then I always had to follow the exciting news with, "but wait we need you to pray because they are conjoined." You see I was so excited to be having twins, I loved my babies. I was also devastated at the news that they may not make it but at the same time I was so proud to be their Mom. I have never had so many emotions run through my head in one day. God has brought us so far in a year.

One year ago it was all I could do to try to breath and not completely have a melt down now a year later we are praising God for the new life He is growing inside of me. We talk about Melody and Madison almost every day. Kenya always talks about her little sisters how much she loves them and how cute they are, she even remembers holding them and singing to them. We have not forgotten them and we never will but God has indeed turned our mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11).

Little Gym

Thanks to Papa T and Wita (Jason's parents) Kenya is now enrolled in Little Gym.

She had her first class Saturday and it was so much fun. She is in a parent and me class so I got to be in there and help her, which I loved!

Kenya has so much fun exploring the gym and learning some gymnastics moves.

Mandy and I took the kids to the Library for story time and we had such a blast. (I have not taken Kenya to story time since she was a baby, it was really fun to take her again.) We sang songs, heard a story and then the kids got to play for a few minutes. I don't know why I didn't take more pictures but I will try to get some next week.

After story time we went and got library cards. Kenya has her very own card and could not be more excited about it.

I know it's a movie but we did get lots of books also :)

Well I just wanted to announce that I have chosen a husband for Kenya.
His name is Zef and he is just the cutest thing ever.
Kenya and Zef enjoy reading their Bibles together, pretending to be dogs and dancing at church.
(Yes, I realize that they are 2 and can't read but still its way too cute!)
Plus, Kenya also loves Zef's sister, Sara. What could be better than having your friend be your sister in law?
Are they not just way too cute!?!

Oh and please don't tell Jason about the fact that Kenya has a future husband
it just might make him cry!

Sorry it took so long for me to get this post up, I was without my camera and I just got it back. :)

We went to the doctor, Wednesday, July 15th, after waiting for 2 hours in a very full waiting room it was our turn to go back. Jason was able to go this time and we also took Kenya. She did pretty good during the wait, I brought her magna doodle, paper and pen (for her to draw), books and a few toys.

The first room they took us to was not a sonogram room. I was so sad, I was thinking, "I know they said I was going to have a sonogram this time." Then I felt bad because we had Kenya there with us to see the baby and I didn't think we were going to get too. So I finally asked and sure enough we were getting a sonogram, they were just waiting for a room to open up.

Once we got to the sonogram room we were so excited to see they had a brand new and very fancy sonogram machine. The only bad thing was it burned DVDs and all I had was my VHS but the nurse told me they could burn me a DVD.

The lady (I need to ask her her name) came in first and started the sonogram she was measuring the baby and it was measuring 10 weeks 5 days. I couldn't believe how clear the sonogram was. At one point the baby started moving it's arms and legs like crazy, it was so cute! I couldn't tell if Kenya was excited or not because she was upset that they turned the lights off, she was ready to go and she was hungry. But despite all that, she was still being pretty good thanks to Jason holding and loving on her.

Then my doctor came and and was asking me a few questions. I am about to talk about menstrual cycles and medical details that everyone may not want to read so if you don't want to know all of this just skip over this paragraph. If we go off the date of my last period and if my cycles are 28 days apart then the baby developing 8 days behind. But since I had the twins my periods have not been regular at all and I'm pretty sure I ovulated a week late so with all of that my doctor is going to go off the sonogram we had Wednesday to date the pregnancy.

The baby looked great. My doctor said the skull was intact, the head shape looked great, the chest cavity looked normal, and the skin at the back of the neck looked normal which meant there were probably no heart defects. It had been three years since I had a sonogram where the baby looked normal and it was such a joy to hear!

My doctor was so sweet and took a lot of time with us, he showed us the baby's chin, lips, nose, and hands. We also got to see the blood flowing from the umbilical cord to the heart and even some blood flow to the brain. That was so amazing to see the blood flowing the way it should! My doctor was so sweet and I'm so thankful that we are seeing him. Do you remember me saying that it took 2 hours to get back there for my sonogram??? Well after my doctor walked in I never would have know they were running behind he took his time with us and didn't rush out of the room which is so nice and very rare when it comes to doctors.

My new due date is February 5th which means we will be delivering in the middle of January. We are planning on waiting to find out what we are having until the baby is born. Oh, and we don't share baby names until after the baby is born, so those are two things you will have to wait for. :) I go back in four weeks for a normal appointment (no sonogram) then four weeks after that I will have my 19 week sonogram. My doctor said he will do a very detailed anatomy scan so I'm really looking forward to that!

Remember the DVD? Well, I didn't realize that I was supposed to ask them before they started the sonogram to put it in so we have no video from our sonogram :( but my doctor said he will do a really good sonogram at 19 weeks so I'm looking forward to that!

Kenya's 1st Slumber Party!

Taylore and I have been best friends since 9th grade. Her and her husband Keaton have 2 kids. Their oldest daughter "Princess" Riley turned 5 and Kenya was there to celebrate!

This is a picture of Kenya and Riley in front of the castle Taylore made that covered their entry way.

Happy Birthday Riley we love you!

Taylore and Keaton took care of 13 girls 9 of which stayed the night.

They all had their hair done, nails and toes painted, played dress up, got to decorate their own cupcake, watched movies and who knows what else.
Kenya was one of the last girls to fall asleep.

A good time was had by all.

Thinking about my girls today

Melody and Madison will have been in Heaven for 8 months tomorrow. I can't believe that much time has gone by. We are doing good most days we of course still get sad but the overwhelming, can't control myself tears seem to be fewer and farther in between. I was just spending some time rereading the events leading up to their birth, the delivery and some more from the days following their birth and I was blown away by how much I had already forgotten. It was such a blessing to reread all of your comments the Lord has really used them to minister to me these past 8 months.

I really liked what my blogging friend Emily said"Hard days will come and sorrow will, too... but it will never, ever outweigh the joy of having known your sweet girls." Which is so true, I am so thankful that we got to spend so much time with our babies. I will always love and miss them!

1st doctors appointment/ the scare of my life/ update on Jason

I had my first doctors appointment today. I was so excited about going but so nervous. If you would have been reading my tweets I'm sure you would have laughed at all the different emotions I was going through.

I got there thirty minutes early and they were running about half and hour behind so I was waiting for about an hour and my mind was racing. It was going from everything was fine and I was convinced we were having twins to I knew for sure we had miscarried.

They finally called me back and had to check my weight (I'm starting out 13 pounds heaver than I did with both of my other pregnancy's), blood pressure (was great), temperature (which was a little high but not too high), then some other things they had to check.

They told me they would come get me once a sonogram room opened up. So more waiting and more mind racing.

Finally a room was open, it was an hour after my appointment time and and hour and a half since I had gotten there. Which is typical when you see a specialist it was just hard since it was my first appointment.

I can't remember her name but a lady started the sonogram and all you could see was an empty sack. My heart sank and all I could think about was, "I knew it, I lost the baby". She looked around for a few minutes then turned it off and said, "We need to do an internal sonogram because I can't find the baby." I said, "Tell me the truth, do you think there is a baby in there?" I knew she couldn't answer that question but I was dying to know. She just told me that it was just really hard to see in there and that's why they needed to do the internal sonogram. She was very sweet and loving I'm so thankful she was in there with me.

I went to the restroom and texted Jason to let him know what was going on. It was everything I could do not to cry. I couldn't believe I was going to have to go lay back down and go through that all over again.

My doctor and the sonogram lady came in this time. He was trying to keep things light hearted asking me a few questions before he started the sonogram. I just wanted it to be over. He started the sonogram and all you could see again was the sack and no baby. He wasn't saying anything just zooming in and looking around. I was so sad, but I kept my cool, tears were welling up in my eyes but I held them back. He kept looking and finally we saw a tiny heartbeat. The baby is only about 7 weeks and was flipped the wrong way so all we could see was the heartbeat, but praise Jesus for that tiny beating heart.

My estimated due date is January 20th 2010.

My doctor said everything is fine and I will have another sonogram in 4 weeks so we can really see the baby and get a better date for my pregnancy.

My doctor asked if I had any questions and I said "I had a lot of questions but I forgot them all, that was AWFUL!" (referring to not being able to find the baby at first) he was really sweet and pulled the picture of the baby back up, he tried again to get measurements but the baby is just too small. He did tell me that the baby's heart is beating 122 beats per minute.

They were extremely busy and he could have just rushed out of there but he didn't, he spent a lot of time answering my questions and just made me feel a lot better. He said, "This is going to be a normal pregnancy and a normal baby." Of course, God is the only one who knows that, but it was so great hearing my doctor say it!

When he delivered the twins he had to cut vertically on my uterus so I can not try for a v-bac (which is fine with me). Also with the fact that he cut vertically on my uterus it is of up most importance that I do not go into labor because the risk of my uterus rupturing is very high if I go into labor. He normally does repeat c sections (if the cut was horizontally) at 39 weeks but since mine cut is vertical he wants to deliver before I go into labor.

He will do an Amniocentesis (a sample of the amniotic fluid, which surrounds a baby in the womb, is collected through a pregnant woman's abdomen using a needle and syringe.) at 37 weeks to make sure the lungs are mature. Then we should have a baby by the end of the year!

I'm so thankful for my doctor, I trust him and he is an expert at what he does. I'm praising God for the life He is growing in my womb!

Jason is doing much better today, too. Thank y'all for praying for him. I started feeling a little sick a few hours ago, please pray I don't get Swine Flu hopefully it's just a cold.

Austin/ Swine Flu/ Sonogram

We drove to Austin on Friday night after church, Jason and I were so tired on the way there we could not have been more excited to have made it to his brothers town house at 1am. Uncle Toe Toe lives in the coolest place, it's about 10 minutes away from downtown Austin but is tucked away in the woods. I have never seen anything like it before. Driving in Friday night we saw about 20 deer just hanging out on someones lawn. It was the coolest thing ever.

I didn't take very many pictures but here is one of Kenya with her Papa P (that's what she calls him), and Wita.

We had a blast in Austin we woke up Saturday morning ate breakfast at Central Market. Their breakfast is amazing if you have never eaten there please go you have got to try it! Then we went to a few vintage guitar shops, went to see Up in 3D (it's a good but sad movie, I don't recommend it for pregnant women), after that we went to Jason's Uncle Paul and Aunt Stephanie's house, they have three kids Anisa, Noah, and Megan. We all went to their community pool had fun swimming with all the kids and grandparents. Went back to Paul and Steph's ate some Rusty's BBQ which was amazing. Then we just chilled.

It was at this time that Jason decided to take a nap. I woke him up to eat and he was complaining about how tired and cold he was. My husband is the most easy going person ever, he never complains (unlike myself I complain a lot). I told him I thought we was just really tired so he ate and hung out with the family some more then fell asleep again.

By the time we got back to Jason's brothers house he was not doing well at all. He was tired, had chills, was achy all over. I still thought he was fine just overly tired so we went to bed. We woke up at about 8 in the morning and Jason was doing AWFUL he could barley walk all the color had been drained from his face and he felt more sick. We were planning on driving home from Austin that morning because I was teaching the kids at church and Jason was helping with worship. But after his Dad and I talked we decided I should take him to Urgent Care,... so I did.

Turns out Jason has Swine Flu. We couldn't believe it. His doctor said there was no reason to freak out it was just like the flu, just really contagious. She told us we needed to go home but we all needed to wear masks in the van. We headed back to Uncle Toe Toe's house to get our stuff and I could not find my glasses anywhere we looked for a long time but I had to leave them behind. I could see driving I just couldn't read street signs. Jason slept the whole way home and I was so sick to my stomach by the time we got home that I threw up.

So fast forward to today Jason has been in our room since Sunday only coming out to use the restroom. I take him food wearing my mask and Kenya gets to see him for a few minutes wearing her mask. It should last about 7 days his doctor said he could go back to work on Monday.

So far Kenya and I are fine we have no symptoms. I did have to take Kenya to the doctor yesterday she has swimmers ear and and infection on the outside of her ear but she seems to be doing fine with it.

She has had a really hard time with Jason being home but her not getting to see him so we let her go in for a few minutes each day. I wash her hand really good once we leave the room.

She was so cute she ran to her room and got some books to read to her Daddy.

Jason was feeling horrible yesterday but is doing much better today.

I go for my first sonogram today at 2 I'm so excited about going but sad Jason will have to stay home. I will be twittering while I'm there. If you don't have twitter you can read my updated on the side of the blog where is says Our Tweets mine is the VKDD one :) I can't wait to come home and upload pictures of the newest member of our family!

Oh and I found my old glasses so I can see the street signs again :)
