IT FEELS AMAZING AS A PUBLISHED WRITER SINCE 1992 WITH FULL PASSION TO GIVE VIEWERS GLIMPSES INTO MY ‘MOSAIC’ ‘ADVENTURE FILLED’ LIFE. MY JOURNEY HAS BEEN INCREDIBLE, EVEN THROUGH THE ‘STORMS OF LIFE’. I LOVE HOW THE DEJA HAS DEVELOPED OVER THE COURSE OF FOUR YEARS. I LOOK FORWARD TO MORE BLOGGING. Very saddened to hear of the passing of ICON Jeanne Cooper who passed away at the age of 84. Lady Cooper was known famously and infamously for the character that is larger than life on The Young And The Restless KATHERINE CHANCELLOR. For me, I grew up on SOAPS, Young And The Restless with an introduction to Mrs. Chancellor at the age of 4. Skipping headstart, I stayed at home with the Nana’s.

My routine was pretty straight-forward.  My mom who is now a retired teacher after 30 years had my nana’s keep me on schedule. I watched all educational programs in the morning after breakfast and they all soon knew I was pretty much a prodigy. I knew the home address, grand parents address, phone numbers, easy. I knew how to read pretty good before entering Kindergarten. 

After my schedule, before my nap I would keep the Nana’s company as their SOAPS came on. When they had to cook, or hang clothes on the line I was the one to keep them updated on what was happening on the SOAP OPERAS. I was pretty good at my position. Even entering Kindergarten as a ‘Day Child’ I was out by noon and able to watch soaps with the Nana’s. Katherine Chancellor was a favorite character. From her diamonds, raspy voice, zingers with Jill and Phillip Chancellor I was in awe.  I wasn’t alone because today many people inside the SOAPS and fans like myself mourn the passing of a great actress Jeanne Cooper. What a joy it was to watch Katherine The Great!

The character Katherine Chancellor went through many dramatic moments. Cooper’s plastic surgery in real life was written into the storyline. Plastic Surgery was more taboo in those days but bravery to expose oneself was to be commended. A true testament to breaking boundaries was Jeanne Cooper. Pushing to the limits alcoholism was also a part of the character of Katherine Chancellor.  The bond between Katherine and Nikki Reed Newman played by Melody Scott Thomas was a joy to watch and will be missed. Even the infamous Victor Newman played by Eric Braeden held Katherine in high regard. Can’t forget about Jill and Katherine. Oh what incredible scenes too many moment to name but what a Character indeed! 

Jeanne Cooper’s passing is a devastating blow to so many people this evening. Pretty hard to wrap your mind around it all. For me, the same. It is like losing family. It is like losing another Nana. Fond memories I shall have of this lady and the role she played. Condolences to the family, friends, Young And The Restless Cast and Crew, The Soap Family and The Soap Opera Fans. I am very sure The Young And The Restless will give a befitting moment for us all. May the Great Lady Jeanne Cooper rest in peace. She will be missed along with the character Katherine Chancellor.

I have a love for MASON JARS, using them in various ways. My nana’s and grand aunties used the mason jars for ‘canning’ purposes, various drinks, tasty desserts and more. Mason jars are very nostalgic, very vintage and will always be the IN JAR. Yes I am laughing right now at my on wit.  Just get creative is what I say! When I have my downtime schedule or spontaneous moment straight to go, I love baking, cooking, creating cocktails ( virgin and non-virgin ), creating recipes and taking on family recipes.

I’m in my ZEN LIFT BABY when I can be in the kitchen. 

Today I will be in the STUDIO. It is MIC UP for me as I do my Wednesday show Lolita’s Bliss Entertainment Report exclusively heard at 1021 Magazine.  Not only am I stepping in the booth, I step out and put on the Producer’s hat to mix the show.  It’s an ALL-DAY AND ALL-NIGHTER event but I love what I do. Nevertheless I am in the mood to bake some Red Velvet Cupcakes and make Raspberry Lemonade Spiked and Virgin. The spike will be with Absolute Vodka and Stoli’s Vodka full name Stolichnaya. Now Ketel One is smooth. It is best straight up with a dash of cola or dash of juice without extreme ‘cocktail’ urges. Ketel One for me is a Martini Moment. 

FOOD FETISH RISING

I could go for some scrumptious scones too… These are oatmeal inspired scones with raspberry from foodgawker. Has to be another time… but another time really really soon. Yummy!

This is an incredible shot of Atlanta by QT Luong. Fits my mood because I am cozy and comfy back from my four days in Atlanta. I was covering a gig,  I was an awesome house-guest – confirmed in my head and in real life. Got to catch up with close ones and celebrate CINCO DE MAYO on Saturday and Sunday. It was group fun on Saturday and one on one fun on Sunday for me. Babes and I.  Have both… right? RIGHT! Fun times in Atlanta, the Suburbs of Atlanta  as always. I kept calling my girlfriends and they kept calling me. Hilarious times.

RAINY DAY AND NIGHTS IN ATLANTA… WET  WET WET TIMES INDEED, PUN INTENDED.

I was like it’s not down-pouring in Lithonia and they would be like I’m in Roswell to Sandy Springs to Alpharetta – it’s down-pouring here or in Marietta. Then we’d flip the conversation because that’s how the rain was in Atlanta. I would be like okay it’s NOW down-pouring in Lithonia but I was comfy either on the couch watching movies, or in the bed relaxing, listening to music or other Private Times And The Whole Nine. Yea.  The Rain did me really good.  IMPECCABLE SLEEP and IMPECCABLE PEACE. Got my relax on and groove on because I’ve been grooved off for a minute. Music puts me in a good mood, LIVE MUSIC puts me in an excellent mood.

Preparing for the gig takes much preparation after getting the credentials. I always make sure the artist is covered in the right vibe. I don’t take the access for granted.  I was fortunate to SCORE personal  enjoyment along with the professional moments. Not always is this opportunity presented the personal enjoyment because I am on TEN for most gigs with strictly professional time consumption. I don’t complain because in the business I am in, there is much  sacrifice for having less downtime and personal time. Though I was on GIG MODE, I got to chill with the people I care about and who care about me too. Score.

This trip was pleasing in more ways than one. Wink.

More about the gig you say? Cool! The Robert Glasper Experiment performed at Center Stage on Sunday. Yea mon, real cool gig. The show was inspiring, Presented by The Schemes + Dreams Foundation. I thank Nicole for the Media Access for 1021 Magazine. We had some great seats, a great view and the vibe was really dope. Fans attended this show and they showed their love for The Robert Glasper Experiment. It was a FULL HOUSE. Did I mention GRAMMY AWARD WINNING Robert Glasper Experiment? Yes… and once you listen to not only the current work but all the work of this man and those who flank him YOU WILL GRASP why Glasper and Company won The Grammy.  Talk about amazing musicians, truly they were all amazing. From the Opening Act to the Main Attraction… amazing.

OMG did it rain in Atlanta.  Not trying to overkill this moment but it constantly was raining.  Thankful the sun did shine on Sunday enough to enjoy CINCO DE MAYO Celebrations with a close one. You must have SKILLZ UP to drive in Atlanta anyway but when it rains, more SKILLS UP.  I did my thing in traffic, which isn’t a shock to those who KNOW me because city traffic isn’t a stranger to me at all. Each city has their signature of how to maneuver through without incident. Fantastico times indeed.  Oh I could just tell ya more but ahem… I’ll stop right here. Now that I am back settled into my familiar, it is time to catch up on my DVR Sessions. Sunday night television is ALL THAT FOR ME. I am on the go alot personally and professionally but I try my best to set that DVR.
