This is a two-part water-based application made by applicraft which reproduces an attractive cracked varnish look. Once the varnish is dry, the cracks can be enhanced by rubbing wax over the surface. The size of cracks can vary - depending on how thick the top coat application is and how quickly the varnish dries. Being water-based, brush cleaning with soap & water is easy!

The face is embellished with gold relief pen following the contours of the cut-out papers with gold painted around the eyes to create a mask effect and finished off with goldfinger paste.

Stately Home Egg Box

This arrived at my workshop one day as a blank item, delivered by the chauffeur who works for our local stately home. "Could I decorate this in an appropriate style, it's an egg box - with one compartment for each day of the week". As the chickens lay their eggs the collectors place them in the slot appropriate for that particular day thus avoiding the problem
of mixing fresh and old eggs!
