Bollinger and Ashwin did the damage for the Chargers with their superb bowling spell. Though the Chargers bowled well and took wickets at periodic intervals, the batting order failed miserably on this slow wicket. Symonds looked like a saviour for some time, but losing his wicket was the last straw.

Andrew Symond's 54 of 30 balls with five sixes was the highlight of this match. Deccan Chargers scored 145 for 7. Rohit's superb catches and Vaas bowling the death over got the Delhi Daredevils crash out of the tournament.

The moth swarmed, flood lit, picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association stadium at Dharmasala, a perfect setting for this IPL season's 51st clash, between the Chargers and the Kings XI.

Toss: Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to field
Result: Deccan Chargers won by 5 wickets with 5 balls to spare
Man of the Match: Rohit Sharma

Kings XI Punjab scored 174 for 3 and it was indeed challenging for the Chargers. Rohit again proved to be the man of the moment with good support from T.Suman. His unbeaten 68 and cool demeanor saw the Chargers score 178 for 5 and win this important game.

It is superb playing for DC and I am really enjoying it. I have been doing well in the domestic circuit. We definitely want to charge into the semi-finals and finals. We will win the next 3 matches and make our place in the semi-finals for sure. Our Captain Gilly is confident we will do it and he has told us, “We have three finals before the semi-finals.”

Jaskarandeep Singh

Feel good to be in the Deccan Chargers team. I will try to improve…improve…improve as a bowler and as a person. It is not easy to play and win in IPL matches. Therefore it was a great feeling, being part of the winning team last year. We hope to do it again this year. As of now we have 5 more finals to go.

Bodapati Sumanth

It was wonderful to debut in the match against Chennai Super Kings here at Nagpur. Being first time on the field was exiting and I was feeling the pressure too. The win against them has made me confident. I will give my best to the team in the coming matches.

Result: Deccan Chargers won the game by 13 runs
Man of the Match: Harmeet Singh (2/24)

Deccan Chargers started off on a horrific start losing 3 wickets in the first two overs, giving the fans a heart sinking moments. Chargers scored 151 for 6 with Rohit adding 51 runs and Mohnish Mishra with 41 runs,displaying excellent partnership.

The second innings also had its share of terrific moments with RCB's Robin Uthappa in great form hitting massive sixes, but Harmeet's deadly spell steered the Chargers stunning victory and kept their hopes of entering the semi-finals alive.

Nagpur witnessed a heavy traffic jam the whole day due to a minor accident on the highway leading to the Jamtha Stadium. The 45,000 capacity stadium witnessed a full house with cricket lovers cheering their respective teams. After the win, Deccan Chargers owners distributed t-shirts to a few lucky fans who were around adding to their euphoria.

Q. How does it feel to be called the “Hero of Hyderabad’s IPL team”?

A. It feels great. I always wanted to win matches for my team, than just being a player. I feel confident about my performance and happy.

Q. What do you have to say about your super innings against Royal Challengers Bangalore on their home ground and the convincing win?

A. This match was a crucial one and I made sure that I played all the overs. My partnership with Symmo helped immensely.

Q. How about the consecutive win against Chennai Super Kings at the Chargers home ground, Nagpur?

A. The VCA Stadium, Nagpur is a big ground. The wicket and outfield is slow. 160 on this ground is a good score. The stadium and facilities are fantastic and the best in the country. I am glad I contributed to the win along with my team mates.

Q. Can you share something about the team’s morale after the two wins?

A. As a team we are charged and feel back on track, the positive vibes are certainly felt.

Q. What is your message to your fans, especially your female fans?

A. I just want my fans to know that we are giving our best to reach the semi-finals. I thank you all specially for your support in our lean times.

Q. Anything you want to share about the management?

A. Our owners, management, Coach Lehmann, Manager Goolam Rajah have been fantastic. I specially want to mention Venkat sir and Girish sir who have been extremely supportive. They constantly encourage me to perform better. Venkat sir calls me before every match and gives me pep talk. It is really inspiring. He says “you are talented and you need to execute it”.

Chargers ruled today! Win by 6 wickets with 5 balls remaining!!

VCA Stadium Nagpur witnessed Chargers home win against Chennai Super Kings after the fiasco against Rajasthan Royals. White, blue and yellow flags of both the teams fluttered in the air. It was a warm and windy evening.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat. Raina's knock of 52 went in vain as they managed a 138 for 8 in 20 overs. Deccan Chargers bowlers did a good job, especially Ryan Harris (3/18) and Harmeet Singh ( 1/21).

Suman ( 44 of 55 balls) and Symonds (unbeaten 27 of 22 balls) paved way for the Chargers victory after a not-so-impressive start by Captain Gilly, Mohnish Mishra and Rohit Sharma. Dwayne Smith's unbeaten 13 of 8 balls did help in this much needed win for the Chargers.

It was fantastic to see Actor Siddharth enthusiastically waving the Chargers flag and cheering on.

Ryan Harris was declared the Man of the match.

Chargers to repeat this home win feat on April 12, 2010 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Nagpur.

What a match!

Chargers looked like a rejuvenated team and this seven wicket win against Royal Challengers Bangalore proved that talent and the team spirit is intact. Chargers won the toss and elected to field. RCB scored 184/6, with Virat Kohli and Kallis's contribution. RCB scored 92 in the first 14 overs and the remaining 92 in the last 6 overs.

Suman (unbeaten 78 from 57 deliveries) and Symmo (unbeaten 53 from 24 deliveries) smashed the opponents with Captain Gilly giving a good start to the batting order.

T. Suman was aptly declared the man of the match. Indeed a proud moment for him and the Deccan Chargers.

It was good to see Venkatesh, Superstar of Telugu movies cheering the chargers.

VCA Stadium-Nagpur, one of the best in the world was all set to witness the clash between Deccan Chargers and Rajasthan Royals. The home ground of Deccan Chargers looked fantastic with fans from both sides, geared with cheer sticks, flags, horns, caps etc

Chargers lost the toss and bowled in the first innings. They did pretty well taking wickets at regular intervals, but the fielding was not up to the mark. RP Singh took 3 wickets and in form. Ryan Harris, Dwayne Smith, and Azar Bilakhia's inclusion in the squad looked good for the team. The opponents scored 159 which looked and was attainable.

Captain Gilly gave a good start to the Chargers batting, but the top order and our domestic players failed miserably. Rohit's attempt to give Chargers the much needed win went for a toss. it was indeed a bad day for the Chargers fans.

Adam Gilchrist received the maximun sixes award. Anyway Chargers as a host made their guest the Rajasthan Royals happy...

Victories and defeats are part of any sport, but the will to win is important. Deccan Chargers will be back on track with the well wishes of their fans.

A. Most promising…Suman, Jaskaran and Mohnish Mishra

Q. Why do you think the team is not performing as per expectations this season, IPL 2010?
A. Twenty20 is an unpredictable game and whichever team takes of well is a victorious team. Luck too does play a major role as it is a game of instincts.

Q. What do you have to say about your colleagues, Coach Lehmann and Mike Young?
A. About Darren, he is a coach who doesn’t succumb under pressure. He is always smiling and gives very vital tips to the players, with regard to the game.
About Mike Young, he is working on the fielding basics and puts a lot of energy in the team.

Q. What is your say on Nagpur VCA Stadium as the Deccan Chargers home ground? You have three home matches here.
A. VCA Stadium, Nagpur is superb! It is one of the best stadiums in the world. It is good to have our home matches here, but we do miss playing in Hyderabad. I am confident we will win all the home matches here.

Q. What is your message to Deccan Chargers fans?
A. Keep backing Deccan Chargers and believe in your favourite team. We will not disappoint you.

Deccan Chargers Press Meet in Nagpur

Deccan Chargers are gearing up for their three home matches to be played on April 5th, 10th & 12th at the Vidarbh Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha which is located about 16 kms away from Nagpur city.

Deccan Chargers and VCA, Nagpur jointly organized a press meet at VCA Ground, Civil Lines at 4.00 pm on March 29th 2010. The meet was well attended by the local media personnel. Mr. E. Venkatram Reddy, Director-Operations, Deccan Chargers and Mr. Sudhir Dabir, President-VCA, Nagpur addressed the gathering and provided information on ticket sales, fixtures, arrangements etc. Mr. Girish Dongre, General Manager - Deccan Chargers was present at the meet. The first 200 tickets of various denominations were bought by the Manohar Bhai Patel Academy. The Chairperson of the academy is Mr. Praful Patel.

The ticket sales for the first match commenced from March 30th through the various branches of Bank of Maharashtra in Nagpur. The response has been fantastic! The sale of tickets for the second and third match will begin from April 1st.

The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai was a total sell out with fans supporting their respective favourites. The madness and frenzy was visible. Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to field. It looked like Chargers bowlers would restrict Mumbai Indians from making a high total, but it was MI's Harbhajan Singh's day; from 119 for 7 in the 17th over, Bhajji scored a breezy 49 not out from 18 balls. Kemar Roach has to show his bowling prowess in the forthcoming Deccan Chargers matches.

MI's total of 172 could not be beaten by the Chargers, who lost Captain Gilly's wicket in the first over. Rohit's 45 runs did not help the team. Bhajji's 3 wickets helped Mumbai Indians score a 41 runs victory over the Chargers.

Along with the Man of the Match award, Bhajji had to face a fine of US$ 15,000 for sledging T.Suman.

Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to bat. The stadium at Ahmedabad was jam packed with cricket fans of both the playing teams.

It was not a Chargers day out there in Ahmedabad. The number of run outs, left all the Chargers fans in a daze. Rohit's 49 runs went in vain. Yousuf Pathan of Rajasthan Royals was on a rampage and there was no stopping him.

Chargers will surely bounce back. Watch them in action against Mumbai Indians on March 28th, 2010. The defeat at Ahmedabad is history.

A great show by the Chargers!

Deccan Chargers win by 10 runs against Delhi Daredevils. Chargers won the toss and elected to bat. Rohit, Symmo, Gibbs, Suman and Gilly zoomed the Chargers score to 171. Great display of team power by the Chargers.

Delhi Daredevils played at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack for the first time and opened the bowling with a spinner. New Charger, Mohnish Mishra debuted today but couldn't hold on against the Devils' bowlers. Gibbs and Symmo brought some stability to the Chargers batting, followed by Rohit and Suman adding to the 171 runs.

Delhi Daredevils' Warner, Dinesh Karthik and De Villiers did their best to put their team on track with some good batting, but New Charger Rahul Sharma, Symmo deVAAStated the Devils' effort.

The powerful Symonds received his consecutive Man of the Match award for his 35 of 25 balls and 3 crucial wickets. His superb catch of his own bowling got him the Karbonn Kamaal Katch award.

A special win by 6 runs for the Deccan Chargers at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, one of the three home grounds of the Hyderabad team. Chargers first home ground win and first ever against Kings XI Punjab in IPL! A genuine reason to celebrate.

The last few overs of the second winnings gave some anxious moments to the Chargers fans, especially Irfan Pathan doing his brother's act, but Jaskaran spelled the deadly blow, with dependable Symmo taking the prized catch. Jaskaran stood up to Captain Gilly's expectation and trust.

Vaas, Gibbs, Gilly and Symmo contributed to the team's victory with Symmo aptly receiving the Man of the Match award. A match to be remembered!

Expect the same magic at 4.00 pm on March 21st against Delhi Daredevils at the same venue.

Deccan Chargers choke in their first match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Dr.DY.Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on March 12th, 2010. Chargers won the toss and elected to bowl. Chaminda Vaas taking the first wicket on the first ball of the tournament was a delight to watch, followed by another wicket in the same over. What a brilliant start!

Captain Gilchrist and VVS Laxman gave a good start to their batting, but the other batsmen failed to deliver, leading to Chargers defeat in their first match.

Chargers will rise and give their best shot in the next game against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, March 14th at Chennai.

It was a life time opportunity for the 39 lucky Deccan Chargers Premium members to meet their favourite Deccan Chargers cricketers. On March 6th, 2009, they were invited to watch a Deccan Chargers practice match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad. After the match, the players met their fans and obliged them with autographs and photographs. The elated fans cheered the team and wished them for the IPL 2010.

Cricket fans thronged Gymkhana grounds, Secunderabad on Mahashivaratri day to show their solidarity to the cause of demanding the IPL matches to be held in Hyderabad, the home ground of Deccan Chargers - DLF IPL 2009 Champions. Deccan Chargers fans went on a signature campaign and expressed their disappointment on the IPL's decision to shift matches out of Hyderabad. Die hard fans are optimistic and appeal to Mr. Lalit Modi to make the event possible in Hyderbad City.
