The Living Dead 2

Did any of you get to read The Living Dead? If you haven’t read it, maybe you should. Edited by John Joseph Adams, it’s 100,000+ words of zombie fiction and includes stories by the likes of Stephen King, Neil Gaiman and Clive Barker. I’m really excited to announce that The Living Dead 2 is set to be released in September, and I’m even more excited to announce that there’s a story of mine in it!

‘Who We Used To Be’ – a brand new, non-AUTUMN zombie tale, is amongst the 43 (43!!!) stories in the collection. And with authors including Max Brooks, David Wellington and Jonathan Maberry involved, this is something no serious zombie fan can afford to miss. Head over here to see the full table of contents.

Right now I’m working with a very cool bunch of people on some short promotional videos. Can’t say too much at the moment, other than it’s HATER / DOG BLOOD related. We’re looking for a few extras to help with a scene being filmed this Saturday, 6th March. If you’re available and you’re interested in helping out, send an email to dogblood@gmx.com and one of the team will get in touch. I’ll be there for most of the day, so if you have anything you’d like signed etc. feel free to bring it along.

I don’t have a lot of detail to share with you yet, but I can announce that the AUTUMN movie will finally be released on DVD in North America on 6th April 2010. Not long to wait! I’ll post again as soon as I have more information.

Here’s some news that I know a lot of you have been waiting for.

The AUTUMN movie will be released on DVD in the UK on 10th May 2010, and you can pre-order it now from all the usual places…

And before anyone asks: no, I don’t know when the US DVD will be out, but I do know it won’t be long before an announcement will be made (any day now, I hope).

Like many of you, I’m a sucker for a good zombie movie, and bloody hell, this looks like it’s going to be a good zombie movie…

I recently spoke to the director of the film, Bing Bailey, who told me about a couple of publicity campaigns he has running at the moment. When the film’s Facebook fan page (click here) hits 10,000 fans, 10 randomly selected fans will receive limited edition posters signed by cast and crew members. Tell your Facebook friends and get them to sign up too. Ask them to leave a comment with your name because, when the page hits 100,000 fans, 5 props from the movie will be given to the people who’s names appear most. And who wouldn’t want to get a hold of a bloody meat cleaver, a slingshot, a bloody severed hand, a bloody straight jacket or some zombie eyes…?!

Infected Books competition winner

You may remember that I had a clear-out before Christmas and offered a stack of books for sale through www.infectedbooks.co.uk. The sale’s pretty much over now with just a handful of foreign language editions and a few copies of Straight to You left.

Everyone who bought books from the sale automatically got entered into a draw for a few special prizes. I’m pleased to announce that the winner was Alan Hickey from Lancashire, UK. Congratulations, Alan! The following goodies will be on their way to you shortly:

That’s a copy of the HATER audiobook on CD (worth around £60!), a framed AUTUMN movie print signed by Dickon Tolson (who plays Carl) and myself, and a copy of 666: The Number Of The Beast – a YA anthology containing a story of mine, Grandma Kelly.

From right to left there you have: David Bradley (editor of SFX), Joe Abercrombie, Justina Robson, Richard Morgan, Chris Wooding, me and Tom Lloyd. And just out of shot on either side of us (you can see a foot from each one) were two huge dogs from Ghostbusters. Nice!

The AUTUMN movie is showing on the Zone Horror channel in the UK again next week. You can catch the film on Monday 15th February at 1:05am and again the following day at 9:00pm.
