Fate Plays Original Soundtrack by Darage Bang

Seven brooding tracks carry the listener through the fatalistic story of the film and convey the cold hearted realms of greed, corruption and conspiracy, shaping the neo-noir thriller’s atmosphere and portraying the story’s dark ambience perfectly.
The track ‘Predator Lurks’ introduces the inevitability of fate with deep atmospheric soundscapes from which the theme of the track gradually emerges. ‘Noughts and Crosses’ continues the theme of fate with harder, cinematic rock elements, ultimately building to a huge and powerful climax. ‘Power Games’ and ‘Small World’ return to a dark, ambient soundscape, each with their own distinct atmosphere. The dark grimy beats and feel of ‘Sylphs’ takes the listener through a tense passage in the film to the beautifully peaceful but cold ambience of ‘Remorseless’. Collatoral brings the soundtrack to a close with the sense of an atmospheric twist, indicating that even happy endings aren’t always what they seam.
Deep, dark and engaging, ‘The Soundtrack to Fate Plays’ is an emotional and compelling journey not to be missed.

Glory Drones

In fact, this is not intended to be a Drone album, it’s an Ambient one, spiced up with some Dub elements. But bright and harmonic drones are the base of all tracks. I like to listen to Drone music along with many other genres. But I realized that drones often are dark, threatening and depressive. Also after some time of listening to them, I have so many ideas how to add more instruments and composition to the sound. So, this is my attempt to make a Drone based album, but with bright harmonies and sounds and instruments adding more movement and composition to the mix.

Phantom Plant EP

The catastrophic earthquake in Japan in March 2011 was an uninvited inspiration for the three songs on this EP. We go backwards in time: “Phantom Plant” is what will happen to Fukushima, either as a ruin or a grave in a concrete coffin. 25 years ago, this is what happened to the sovjet nuclear power plant “Lenin Number Four” in Chernobyl. Everybody was shocked and angry, but no change in paradigms have been noticeable. Why? Because politicians, economy and we, the consumers, demanded for cheap power and big profit. Everything was justified with a supposed insignificant “Restrisiko” (German euphemism for “remaining risk”). Maybe we really believed or wanted to believe, but reality is not negotiable and now we have to deal with another phantom of our civilization for thousands of years.

Urban Triptych EP

My first concept work is the result of a process of sound design, evoked associations and improvisation. Urban life is something everybody experiences in his own way, but often it has the aura of decay and dystopia. Cities will grow uncontrolled, more and more people will live in cities and the supply with energy, food, entertainment and healthcare becomes more difficult every day. Many of them drop out of society and a twighlight zone i.e. a meta city will grow in the shadows of scyscrapers and mega-shopping-malls. This is my view on city life of the future. The Triptych has no order to be played as the three tracks are one piece. But I recommend to start at the “Center”, like you would look at a painted picture.

Apeiron is my first complete album I did back in 2008. I don’t know why I did not upload it yet, but I guess I had to experiment some time with my sound and develop some confidence in my musical skills. I even did not rehearse it for over a year. Today I had another listen to it and with the distance of over two years, I was very astonished about the integrity and flair of the whole album. Of course I would not sound like this anymore – although I think I could use more hardware guitar and bass in my newer stuff like I did on this record. Maybe I will remaster the whole thing, if the feedback recommends the exhaust … So, my friends, here it is – my startup album from the late ’00s: APEIRON
